    Hot Mango wings
    Patricia N.

Through the years we visited for special occasions and noticed a subtle change in the food last visit in August. Under new management for a few years puts this establishment in a financial situation causing owner(s) to cut corners and change their menu. As a comparison from Good Friday, 2023, the broiled haddock accompanied by fresh cut French fries and a salad was extraordinarily fresh and delicious yet this recent visit, not so much. This time, I ordered the crabmeat STUFFED haddock and the stuffing was cold and slightly undercooked. $39 included 2 sides. Not a good result later. The broiled haddock with sides was standard and overpriced at $29. The siracha mango wing as an appetizer were so meaty and satisfying. Would order them again. The service was impeccable and greatly appreciated.

A hidden gem! I've lived in the area for almost 30 years and never heard of this place, but we'll definitely be back! We sat on the patio out back on a Friday evening, very quiet and peaceful. There's live trout swimming in the water right next to you. Servers were great. What we loved: French dip, boneless wings (mango habanero was the perfect balance of hot and sweet, and sweet & spicy was just right!) the artisanal grilled cheese, Cajun crawfish sandwhich, and the French fries were surprisingly very good! We also got the appetizer special, crab pirogies with old bay seasoning which were great! Thought the food was priced well. What we didn't love: only thing was the bacon wrapped scallops were pretty small and we weren't overly impressed by them. Probably would get a different app next time instead of them. Also just know that the road next to the restaurant and has no shoulder so just watch little kids or elderly folks getting to/from their cars. We didn't have a problem with it, cars seem to slow down in the area, but thought it was worth mentioning! The building is from the 1800s.

A big shout out to the kitchen team of Bobby & Mikey who stay busy prepping ingredients, presenting fresh food here. WILL rocked as our server with intermittent stops along with great service. Appetizers of Seafood Sampler $15 plus the French Onion Soup ($6) were tasty and hot! Based on the reviews, we opted for homemade crab stuffed Haddock, fresh cut French fries and a side salad with mixed greens, homemade blue cheese dressing. YUM! ($28) The baked trout topped with mushrooms (a la Manuiere ), although great for watching calories was served with fresh hot baked potato and side salad. ($24) We enjoyed everything.

Best wings in the area by far (meaty, great blue cheese dressing, and their traditional hot sauce is really good).

La Maya did not disappoint! The ambience is dimly lit, and perfect for a romantic dinner. On the cocktails side, I tried "Señor Sal" - a dirty martini / Vesper riff featuring their proprietary gin and vodka, dry vermouth, pickled jalapeño, olive brine, and lemon infused olive oil. It was a visually attractive, delicious, and sturdy cocktail. Just what the doctor ordered! Later I tried the house margarita. It was balanced and refreshing. There are options to add flavorings to the house margarita spec for +$2 (e.g., Matcha Coconut, Spicy, Guava Mint, Caramelized Pineapple). My dinner companion tried the caramelized pineapple and loved it. On the culinary side, the guacamole was fresh and flavorful. For an entree, I selected the Carne Nortena - a tequila-marinated ribeye with sauteed scallions, shisito peppers. The steak was cooked perfectly to temperature (medium-rare) and amazingly juicy. The roasted sweet potato wedges (Camote) were also outstanding. Don't forget dessert - the coconut flan was to die for! Service - I believe our server's name was Alex, was on-point. He was knowledgeable about both the food and beverages, and did not rush us. Thank you La Maya for a great evening. I will definitely return.

Cannot say enough about this beautifully presented Mexican cuisine thank you. The night was wonderful. The company made it better but the food surely took it to a new level.

You walk in, you are at the bar area,But, there is a hostess stand there if you are interested in grabbing a booth to order food. Which is what we have always done and is what we will now never do again because service from this 1 particular shorter waitress is awful. After she dropped our food to the table we didn't see her for an hour despite trying our best to flag her down and asking the other waitress to get her for us so we could have our bill. The owner was working harder than this waitress collecting our empty dishes, asked us if we needed anything, cleaning tables( our waitress removed a used empty glass when she seated us) and I have no clue where she went or what she was doing that while time that she failed to see if everything was okay, we needed anything/refills or were ready to the check. Instead, since my daughter is a regular, she gave us a tip to sit at the bar and order food. Service is much better. Every time we've gone there the food has always been good. This time I got a chicken philly cheesesteak and it was delicious also! Can't say much about the crowd. It's definitely a spot for the younger groups to hang out since the college is so close. The bad thing about that is that they don't respect you at your booth if you are in one just for food. They stand right in front of your table in groups talking and you have zero privacy and it's actually a bit suffocating. When they finally did all move for a moment, I could finally feel the air circulation. This was only around 5:30pm. Service- still awful Food- great Atmosphere- depends what you're looking for

My friends and I stopped by Thursday night for some drinks and bites to share. We ordered a mix of appetizers, including the cheesesteak egg rolls, breaded mozzarella half moons, housemade G's sauce wings, and the grilled cheese with fries. Everything came out hot and fresh. The wings were the standout, great flavor with G's sauce, which is like a peppery hot sauce. It's not super spicy, but it does have a slight kick. The grilled cheese could've used more cheese, but overall, everything hit the spot. Fun place for a casual night out! Then I had the French onion soup which is a classic and I love when restaurants have it. Then I had the Pig burger and it was so good, the bbq sauce and onion rings and cheese is so melty and tasty! Then I had the PB dessert but it was WAY TOO PB AND CHOCOLATEY so if u don't want too much then I don't recommend but it is also delectable. And then the next time I had the cheesecake with caramel on the side and whipped cream (the whipped cream seemed to be made in house) the sauce and cheesecake and caramel sauce are very soft and easy eating and going down, highly recommend if u want something not too overbearing. I also had the bourbon bbq wings which r also really good but don't expect anything crazy with them as they don't seem excessively flavored with artificial flavorings. The ambiance is awesome too, more specially the back, corner spot next to "Stacy's Mom" bathroom is a great spot to sit.

We made a reservation after giving the place a call a few hours beforehand and being advised it was a good idea. I didn't understand why, since we were almost the only people in there when we arrived--then, suddenly, ten minutes later it was packed! So the reservation was definitely a good idea. Despite how busy they were, our waiter was excellent and very attentive (I'm pretty sure his nickname was Shaq, he gave us his full first name but I completely blanked on it after a few pounders of Montucky's delicious brew). I had the pretzel bites and full-size Caesar salad, and it was more than enough food for me. My friends each got different items; the pierogies looked delicious (maybe it is obvious that I am a fan of appetizers; it's my favorite section of any restaurant menu). Some of us weren't able to finish everything, as the portions were much larger once you started on them than when first eye-balling them. Overall, I greatly enjoyed this visit. I was disappointed at first that my friends wanted to go somewhere other than where we'd been last time, but all concerns melted away once we got to our seats. Bethlehem Barrel & Drafthouse offers some cool atmosphere along with a good selection of drinks, both beer and liquor, and friendly service (thanks again, Shaq!
