The fries were cooked perfectly and served with three delicious dipping sauces. The cauliflower was wood-fired and accompanied with romesco sauce. The appetizers were both satisfying, but the pizza was highly disappointing. I enjoy a light, airy crust, but this one was bland, had no crisp, and couldn't hold up any toppings. After sitting just a few minutes my pizza was a soggy, sloppy mess. If you're going to charge $19 for a personal pizza it better be amazing. This was far from amazing. Recently went and sat at the bar for 15 minutes without anyone even acknowledging my existence. Was never given water, a menu or even a hello, got up and left after wasting 15 minutes of patiently waiting. This was the second time I have visited this establishment, the first time service was poor but figured it was a one off and the food was decent so gave it a shot. Went for a run today and met some people here for dinner. Not our first time. Love it here. However, tonight one of our guest ordered a special, some steak, and it was delicious. But this steak, on the dinner menu, came with nothing else. Zero sides for $38. Appalling!! Again everything was excellent. Just don't see how you can call this a dinner. Very disappointed. Nice atmosphere and good apps and drinks but the pizza really isn't for me. We got a variety of the top suggested apps, the cheeses and fries, which were nice and salty which I like! The avocado, Pom and pear salad was good too but I forgot to swap out the goat cheese for something else. We tried 3 pizzas - a red sauce meat, and two white pizzas with artichoke and the other with arugula. As one reviewer noted, they were really floppy and doughy, no crisp at all. Just not my favorite. Also very $$$ for the size. The affogato with the vanilla gelato was divine! I want to try the half baked cookie and gelato since half baked seems to be their forte The service was great! My family went to PA House this past Saturday. Many people in the area told me it was great and PA House managed to exceed my expectations. Everything about the restaurant was extremely clean, from the entrance, to the tables to the bathrooms. The service was professional and friendly. The server was able to describe the dishes and answer any questions. The food and drinks came quickly and accurately. As for the food, it was really amazing. The avocado hummus appetizer was outstanding and I can't wait to have it again. The burger was outstanding and cooked perfectly. I highly recommend PA House. After moving to Hellertown in October, the PA House is easily my wife and I's favorite restaurant. The atmosphere is modern and professional. The food is delicious. We also got the holy trinity pizza and the pesto pizza. All the flavors were there and good, only complaint was the pizza was 'floppy' and difficult to eat because of it. This is such a cute and reaching spot for a good meal, music and service. The inside looks like we've been placed in either a greenhouse or barn house reimagined. It's modern and the service is top notch. Emi and Atalie assisted us and were exceptional - we were a party of 8 for NYE. Emi at the bar rocked - quick, attentive, anticipatory. Atalie provided us with excellent recommendations on the menu. We tried pizza, salads, fries, burgers, entrees, several beverages and we left all of the plates empty! Flavors well balanced, food was hot, fresh and deliberate. So glad we stopped by and absolutely coming in again. The only watch out I would share is that there was a manager on the floor - didn't catch his name, he was tall and in a large grey sweater who was rude upon entry for no reason. It came with three sauces and they were all really good. I ordered the spinach and artichoke pizza and my husband ordered the holy trinity pizza. I have to say it wasn't the best. The middle of the pizza was very floppy and 0 crisp. It had good flavor, but the flop was so much you could barely pick it up to eat. We brought it home to put it in our air fryer to crisp it up and even that did not do the trick. I would probably get something else next time I go... It is on the pricier side.. for the two pizzas, their fry app and an espresso martini it was $63. Our server was amazing and attentive and the ambiance and music was great. read more

This fun new local joint has been open more than a year now and they have worked out the kinks. The best thing they have added is a features menu that changes every few weeks. Parking is very limited. You can park at Water ST park and walk over using the crosswalks. The classic menu is great but the features are always so good! This week they are offering skillet seared scallops and they are nothing short of stellar! The toast they served with them are great to soak up the garlic butter in the skillet. Their fresh cut fries with dipping sauce are a MUST! The pizzas are authentic from the oven flown in from Italy. Make a reservation to ensure seating inside. Insider tip is that they don't do reservations for outdoor seating so if you drive by and see some seats stop in. However, the pizza still isn't cooked properly. The crust around the edge is crispy, chewy, and leopard spotted. Perfect. BUT, it's still paper thin in the middle and floppy as a wet noodle. Can't understand how they're not getting this. I've done a lot with wood, coal, and gas fired ovens and I know that the floor has to be hot to get a firm, thin, crust that won't flop when you pick it up. You need a fork and knife to eat this pizza. It's tasty, but needs work. I don't know if it's the ovens fault or the chef's fault, but something should be done. read more

As we explore these new towns, it's great to discover the eateries as well. This new place, off main street in Hellertown, has that urban vibe, inside and out. Nice clean lines offers dining in as well as out back, creekside. Chavonne, our server, had a sweet personality but needs server training, better timing on service and must not rely on 'shes new'! First time at a new restaurant, we order and share a few offerings. The Fun Guy (Fungi) pizza mentioned chefs mix of mushrooms yet measly three mushrooms on each of the 6 slices, cheese smeared on base and a huge fluff of arugula covering the entire top. The downside was the crust. For those fold and hold pizza folks, not going to happen. I've never tasted this kind of soft pizza crust. Almost too soft. The consistency reminded me of a soft tortilla. I'm thinking the heat and weight of cheese softened it. $16 The French fries were listed on main menu as HAND CUT and far from it. The insides were empty, dried up and probably fried once lightly to prep them for an order, then re-fried again. DEFINITELY from a box/bag. The 3 accompanying sauces were elevated mayo but $13!!? Disappointed. Our server confirmed that the 8 ounce 'pat lafrieda' burger was a fresh, hand pattied burger. It was cooked to request with L, T, O on side. Upcharge of $1 for added cheese. None. No cheese. Definitely not 8 ounces or half a pound of ground mix. 4/6? The highlight of our selections was the plate of roasted cauliflower. Great side with nice mix of flavors. $12 The manager, August, visited our table with a cold shot of home made Limoncello because he tried to convince me those fries were fresh cut! Shared an s.o.p. pizza (sausage, onions, peppers) from their coal-fired oven. It was very good, especially the sausage! Finished the meal with an amaro. Was happy to see this on the menu. First off, this is perhaps the most beautifully designed restaurant in the entire Lehigh Valley. The darker-yet-inviting color palate, the warm lighting fixtures above the bar, the way the lines of the place all lead to a massive imported pizza oven the hue of burnt sienna (shoutout Crayola Factory). It's a visual feat that's even more gee-golly when you consider that the place used to be an auto garage. Which is ironic because parking at this place is a total mess. There are a handful of spots in front of the restaurant that abut a small outdoor seating area and a refurbished Airstream, but good luck. Then there's street parking, where you're competing with Hellertown residents whom I'm sure also looooove the restaurant's on-site parking limitations. And then there's the park across the street that's a short walk but, still, the whole automobile ordeal (auto-ordeal?) is kind of flustering and frustrating (flusterating?). But luckily, when you finally park and enter the restaurant, PA House's staff is there to help--in full force. You know how every single business is looking to hire right now? Yeah, it's because PA House has 400 employees. Even though the restaurant was packed at 5:30 on the Wednesday night we were there, there were ample servers, some of them even standing idle at various parts of the night. There were a few hiccups (our table didn't have food menus, one server didn't know what kind of mushrooms were on the Fun Guy pizza), but otherwise I felt taken care of and maybe even nurtured? So and then there's the food. From the pizza oven, you'd correctly guess that the focus is pizza, but I'd argue that the menu isn't Italian, but more Saucon Valley American. There's a ubiquitous beet and goat cheese salad, there's a burger, there's a tuna burger (?), and then there are these French fries everyone can't stop Yelping about that have three sauces but all of them just taste like fancy mayonnaise and they're ... French fries. And then the pizza. Like other Yelpers have been saying (only they're right on this point), the pizza is unpleasantly floppy. And not only does it droop in the center, making the whole pizza-eating experience an exercise in creative folding, the crust is thick, chewy, and doughy. The pizza proportions are way off and it's not the imported oven's fault. In fact, that imported oven is probably like, "Whoever is smooshing all the dough out of the center of these pizzas and piling it up around the edges like it's some inflatable baby pool is doing this ALL WRONG. And I should know because I'm from Italy!!!" The variety of the pizzas? Great. The distribution of toppings? Wonderful. The crust? Nope. Price wise, everything feels like it should be $2 less than it costs you. Gaffel Kolsch for $9. A cheese plate for $22. The Fun Guy (cringe) pizza is $16. Limoncello cheesecake for $12.
