Nice hotel. Receptionist is very courteous and polite. The place is very clean and welcoming. When I got into my room, there was some classical music playing: very nice. I've stayed at this hotel several times when attending events in Austin. It's very nice, clean, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. There's no fee to park in their lot and it has a shuttle that runs every 30 minutes to it's downtown location, which is so convenient and the fee is very reasonable, especially compared to downtown parking. I recently had to cancel a room here, because the SXSW event I was attending was canceled. I got a great rate for the room by prepaying, but there would be no refund if I cancelled. I was so stressed about what to do. I could still use the room for a getaway weekend in Austin, but this corona virus craziness made me want to cancel and just lose that money, which was a lot to lose. I took a chance and reached out to the hotel to see if, under these circumstances, I could possibly get a refund. They were very kind and said that they would put in the request for me and I would know in a couple of days. Two days later, my refund was deposited back to my credit card. For this reason, I will continue to be a loyal Bonvoy member to Marriott. read more

It's a sleepless night due to the noise from highway. Our room is a kind of in the middle, but we still got a lot of noise. Wondering why it got so many stars from the other guests. The front desk was very friendly. read more

Booked the room online with Amex and paid for it in advance. I got there, and Next dey evening I saw a charge for a room on my card I called and asked them hey why are there charges on my card? They had already charged me online. She said oh no that would come off it's just a hold. One week later I called And said this is a charge will you refund it please they said we will after having a long conversation. Well, 2 months later after 3 more times​ calling talking to the manager NAME TAYLOR ( he kept me on the phone for 45 minutes on hold on March 9th, 2018 ) Still there is no refund. This is a great hotel in a good location. The room we stayed in was clean and well-maintained. The only problems we had were the very noisy a/c and the sound of the freeway. Other that these annoyances, we would highly recommend this hotel. read more

In Austin, Texas for SXSW. Staying at The Springhill Suites, about a 15 minute FREE shuttle to downtown. Great customer service and beautiful room that seems to have been renovated pretty recently, plus has some pretty cool wallpaper. Also, delicious hot breakfast included!!! Going during SXSW I expected for the hotel to be busy, which it really wasn't to my surprise. Despite this the Staff seemed overwhelmed and irritable. I was immediately met with attitude by one of the front desk staff members. Backing up a bit when the room was booked months ago we were told that the double queen suite would be comfortable for 4 adults and had a privacy wall. What they did not mention was that the privacy wall was not between the beds but instead in-between the couch (uncomfortable) and the two beds. They also explained that the room was spacious (nope). When we arrived we immediately realized that there would not be enough room for 4 adults. There was little to no space between the bed and TV and there was almost no reason to use the closet since you had to wedge yourself in the corner of the room between the bed and closet to open the door then you were trapped, this made unpacking very difficult. I was also surprised to see NO drawers other than the one on the tv stand that was not worth putting anything in. For 4 nights I had to deal with living out of a suitcase, which for a girl is not so easy. The sink space was almost nonexistent and for 4 people it made it quite crowded. When we went down to the front desk to explain the situation they staff was not so helpful. They explained that they could get us a second room at less than half of what we paid ($409.98 a night). We learned quickly that this was the rate that they had online and Expedia had an even lower rate. They threw around the word accommodate like they were trying to give us a deal since we were inconvenienced and uncomfortable in our room. When I explained to them that this was not accommodating us that they should be giving us some kind of deal since we spent over 1800 on the room for the 4 nights they explained that the computer tells them the rate they can offer (lie). I asked if they can discount it they again said they could only do what the computer tells them (lie). I explained that I could get a better deal on Expedia and she had the nerve to tell me that Expedia does not guarantee a room (bold faced lie). Finally I told her that I would be emailing Marriott to explain the attitude and lies I had been told and it was like a magic switch. All of a sudden she was able to give us a second room for free for 2 nights, but only 2 because they were all booked up (LIE). We took what we could and had to be inconvenienced for only 2 night of our trip instead of all 4. Overall the staff was extremely poor. I did write an email and I am waiting to hear back. I will update yelp when I receive a message back with their response. I do not think I will stay in another Springhill suites and Marriott is not high on my list of hotels to visit after this experience. Overpriced rooms and definitely not worth what I paid for. I was however happy about the free WI-FI. UPDATE: I received a very cold rude email back from the general manager. Now I did not threaten the staff in any way and in fact I did not even raise my voice even when I was being lied to. However she had the nerve to say, "I would have actually refunded your money and asked you to leave after the inappropriate threatening behavior the staff took from you in person and over the phone by the person who booked the room." so she would have rather put us out with no where to stay during SXSW than listen to both sides of the story. Clearly there were more lies told by the staff member I had dealt with. There was no reference to the bold faced lies that I was told and in fact the general manager said that the women I dealt with was "fully authorized to make decisions when it comes to guest issues"... which is funny because she told me that she could only do what the computer told her. Marriott Springhill suites has ruined another day for me. I have sent a fallow-up email to the complaint department regarding the way I was treated my the general manager. This hotel does not know the meaning of hospitality and respect. read more

They have construction going on ALL day everyday (banging started at 10am Sunday). They post the times but my first night coming in they went over by 30minutes which stopped us from getting a nap in before going out. Manger told me that wasn't "prime sleeping hours"...... YOU'RE A HOTEL! PEOPLE GO HERE TO SLEEP AND HAVE SEX! THAT'S IT! I'm posting because i didn't pay money for a snooty hotel manager to judge my sleep schedule while I'm on vacation (she also denied that the alarms went off more then once or twice instead of the hour off and on they actually did). She gave a discount but continued to judge the nap... Instead of just walking away at that point. Room and staff were great besides the manger. read more

I recently stayed at SpringHill Suites when I was in Austin for SXSW. As someone who works part time at a hotel, I am used to a certain standard of front desk etiquette that my coworkers who work behind the front desk practice every shift. I was absolutely blown away by how rude the front desk staff at this hotel was. Upon checking in, the young girl helping us was clearly bothered by our questions and initially started out our stay on an unfriendly note. However, it was the older woman who worked late evenings/early mornings that we found to be absurdly rude. She reprimanded us for misplacing our keys and having to get new ones, and gave us extremely snarky advice to "maybe next time keep them in [our] bags." The morning that we were leaving Austin, she called our room in an agitated tone saying that our shuttle driver was extremely anxious for us to get downstairs and that we shouldn't make him wait any longer. That was at 7:13 when our shuttle driver wasn't due to be there until 7:15. On top of that, when we got downstairs the shuttle driver was extremely uncomfortable by what she said and made a point to assure us that he wasn't anxious at all and that he didn't know why she had said that. The front desk staff needs an etiquette class or maybe a new career path because although everything else in the hotel was absolutely wonderful, we would never stay there again because of how uncomfortable we were made to feel. read more

Honestly, the hotel was in fine quality for the price you pay. But beware if you have an issues and need good customer service to provide a resolution. The reason for my poor review is the customer service we received at check out and a continued battle for the past week to settle our bill. When we checked in, we handed the concierge a gift card purchased for us by friends in the unopened original packaging. When we returned to our room later that night, the card had been returned to us saying that it was "dead" and had no balance. When we tried to check out the next morning, the woman at the front desk was rude to my husband and told him to call the number on the back of the card to settle the problem. It makes no sense why a gift card that has been paid for and is still in original packaging would not be honored. The woman working put forth no effort to help remedy our situation and spoke in a harsh tone. We have continued to be frustrated by the lack of help received from both this hotel location and Marriott corporate. Everyone keeps trying to blame someone else. I've never experienced so much passing the blame and poor customer experience in my life. This experience has tarnished my view of this hotel and their inability to even attempt to remedy the situation. read more

I give it a 1 star, may not deserve a star...We came into town for UT swim camp...There were motorcycle gangs invading the parking lot and they weee justing hacing out in the parking lot. .We first thought they were just waiting to get checked in at 12..The crowd of motorcycle gangs kept buiding as the day got later..By 5 p.m., my husband was worried about his car and was going to move it to the otherside of the building...WHen left the building he was approached by motorcycle women were making/asking offers..They were all drunk really bad...This was rated as a 3 star hotel which should have been even fancier than the woodlands.. This was no comparison. The fridge was tiny with no control temperature, very tiny couch, bathroom tiny, only 1 small table...No comparison to th springhills i have stayed in before in the Woodlands, tx. Very Disappointed and I will never stay at this hotel again...This was even more expensive than the one in woodlands, and it was a dump. I hated being there and could not wait till check-out. This was the most awful stay of my life. read more

This hotel cheats unsuspecting South by Southwest Music Festival attendees. I booked the hotel room 6 months in advance for my brother's 30th birthday. He and his girlfriend were meeting my cousin and his wife, so I booked a "luxury suite" so they could stay together. The room was described as capable of sleeping 5 people. There weren't many rooms available at any hotel down there, and this one was the closest hotel to the festival that had any rooms at all, even that far in advance. When my brother checked in, he quickly sent me a text asking if all 4 of them were to stay in the same room. He sent pictures of a TINY room (smaller than in most hotels) with 2 double beds and a sleeper couch, but that much furniture had no business being in such a small room. I called to complain (espcially because I had paid $409 per night plus tax for that tiny room), and the most they could offer was a second room at $199 per night! The first woman was nice, but she could tell that we were NOT going to pay for another room, so she passed me off to a rude, horrible female manager who just said "I'm sorry, but that's what you booked, so that's what you get." We continued to argue that if rates were now $199, they should be happy to give us a 2nd room because we paid more that double that amount. I complained that they were ripping me off and didn't accurately describe the rooms. But, the horrible manager kept saying "well, we'd be giving you a deal on the second room, so you should take it". We went on Orbitz, only to find out that rooms for people coming in that day were not only available, but were only going for $180 per night! I immediately called back and pointed this out to the manager, who then gave us the stupid line: "well, if you book through them, there's no guarantee that we'll actually have a room for you when you get here." What a crock! After enough complaining about the "bait and switch" with the "luxury suite" and the tiny room they actually gave us, a different manager ultimately offered a second room for 2 days at no charge. So, my brother's group of 4 were able to stay comfortably in the mediocre rooms for 2 nights. The other 2 nights, they were stuck in the tiny room. It worked out, but was less than ideal for 4 grown people in such small accommodations. I have stayed at other Springhill Suites before, and they've had nice people, though the rooms are nothing special. Now, I'll never book there again. Rude managers and Charging more than double for a tiny room to unsuspecting festival attendees is bad business. read more

I am a loyal Marriot rewards member and stay exclusively at Marriot hotels. My favorite go to brand in this chain is the Springhill Suites, however, they are all individually managed and if it's important to you that you are able to reach a front desk person, or for the people you are visiting in town to able to reach you through the front desk, I would have to advise potential guests to stay at the Fairfield Inn next door instead. This particular Springhill apparently cannot be bothered to manage the front desk phones. Either management is poor and are too cheap to hire adequate help, or the help they hire is incapable or not doing their job. My aunt and uncle were guests at this hotel for several nights and I was unable to reach a front desk person unless I called repeatedly, at which point I was put on hold for long periods multiple times and had to call back. The first time Catherine said she was the only one at the desk and was unable to manage the number of guests checking in and the calls coming in. The most unsettling experience occurred the morning my aunt and uncle were scheduled to depart and I needed to reach them to tell them my son left his wallet in their rental car. For over 45 minutes on a Tuesday morning, regular business hours, I tried reaching a human with no success. My aunt and uncle do not use cell phones so it was very frustrating to be unable to reach them. I finally spoke to Justin, who said yes "the phone has been ringing off the hook", to which I replied then why haven't you been answering it. He was too busy or apparently the throngs of people checking out made it impossible for him to pick up the phone. I spoke to a manager, Shantel, and she said the phones were working so she did not know why no one picked up. All I can say is, if you have an emergency and need to reach a guest, or need to reach a guest for any reason, good luck with that. I called the Fairfield Inn next door, hoping for some inside number or to see if they could help in anyway, and the front desk people there answered the phones immediately. It is absolutely unacceptable to be unable to reach a guest at any hotel, and for the front desk staff to not answer the phone as a matter of course. Poor management, or poor employees or both. Very disappointing. read more
