A great value hotel near the airport with the convenient complementary shuttle service. Staff is always friendly and efficient. The room was also modern, clean, and spacious. Everything worked without any issues. Aside from the plane noises, the room was pretty quiet, although there were many families staying here. Breakfast was nothing special. Some juice, coffee, bread, cereal, egg, biscuit, and gravy. Considering my experience, the price is pretty reasonable. The only downside would be the location. You have to walk and go across the street to get to stores at gas stations, fast food, or shops. I would say Uber would be easier if you don't drive. read more

Easy location, close to the airport. Check-in was quick and easy and staff were excellent and provided great service. They have a shuttle that goes to the airport every half hour, and also will pick you up from the airport. If you were coming from the rental car center, they will stop at the Visitor Parking/Rental Car Pickup section of the building, which is to the west side. They also provide complimentary bags of popcorn at the front desk which the kids were a big fan of. A few complaints about the room - the mattress was too soft, and the room had a separate area for desk/sofa, but the light is connected to the main switch. So either you had the entire room lit up, or not. It wasn't possible to have the bed area dark while leaving some lights in the work area. One cool thing about the room though is they have a separate room for toilet and shower, similar to a Disney Cruise. A nice touch! Otherwise everything is standard. read more

This was going to be 4 stars but the parking situation at this hotel is terrible. The hotel itself was fine, no complaints. It was a bit noisy but it's an airport hotel so that is to be expected. The parking is what earned this hotel 3 stars. They have a rental car company that operates out of one of the rooms and there were 4/5 nights where there was no parking by the hotel because all of it, including right by the entrances was taken up by rental cars.. when I asked about it I was told there is more parking behind their sister property as the solution.. so had to park behind a completely separate hotel and even there was barely any parking. If you don't have a car I would recommend staying here, if you do, I do not recommend this location. read more

Close to the airport with shuttle pickup, good reviews online, free breakfast. Well my experience was very different! Let's start with shuttle pickup. I called for shuttle pickup upon landing and was told to go to the different airport terminal and call back again as due to high traffic shuttle driver will not pickup from the busiest terminal! Breakfast experience was similar. Yes they have free breakfast but is it worth eating? In my opinion hard no. No scrambled eggs, no bacon no sausage etc. lots of starches and sugars. Coffee is also not served past morning as I wanted coffee in the afternoon but you gotta make that one in your room... Room cleanliness is not there. After my first night I asked for housekeeping to clean the room and was told sure. I was really surprised when I found out in the evening that room was not cleaned and that I don't have clean towels. I called the front desk inquiring about it and was told - we don't clean rooms daily. Wait what? We only tidy up rooms every other day!!! We stayed here during our three days in Houston. Honesty, I have seen other reviews where crime in vehicle were high. Decided to stay near the airport rather than near the city hotels. We figure lots of people come and go so it should be safer. When we arrived we see a police car parking in the front and got me thinking "hmmm". There was also a sign in the front desk stating that they are now charging $10 per day for the "extra security cost" added to the bill. On to the hotel itself, the hotel was kept clean and we didn't really have any problems with the actual room or stay. I always book a double beds on the first floor, but they do not have any on the first floor. The lowest is the 2nd floor just keep that in mind as I didn't know that before hand. I guess all new SpringHill's have that configuration which wasn't a big deal. The room that we stayed in was clean and standard amenities for a SpringHill. The breakfast was the usual items but really can't complain. Not expecting an IHOP or diner breakfast but it did the job. They did clean our room every other day as advertised, but I usually bring some Lysol wipes and give our room a wipe over. The staff was fine when we checked in and had no problems with any attitudes. There is an office for a car rental place on site which I find unusual, but its convenient for people staying at the airport area. My only complaint was that there no doubles on the first floor, but you can't win them all. Also, I was uneasy about a police car in the front because you feel there is crime in the area. Although, nothing happen to our rental car it just makes your trip uneasy. Just a tip, park in the front if possible more foot traffic the better. Didn't see any roaches in our room as someone described but maybe it was cleaned? Who knows. Overall, our stay was fine and the hotel was decent for our needs. read more

Very organized, clean and the room has all the amenities I look for during business trip. Layout of the room is very nice, well divided and gives you multi room/space feel without feeling cramped. I also like how the shower and toilet are in separate space. Shower heads has two extra jets in tummy section which gives my back good massage + better coverage. Breakfast was simple but clean and with friendly staff. It has airport shuttle service that departs every 30 min. Highly recommended. *forgot to mention, first timer caution, I drive into the right turn lane thinking it's the lane into hotel but no... it goes into long term parking garage. There was no hot water one day, then the next day, NO RUNNING WATER (can't flush the toilets, no air conditioning -- in Texas in the summer!). His attitude when we were referred to him to discuss a token gesture of compensation was reprehensible. No sincere apology or empathy. He didn't even offer complimentary bottled water!!!! Loyal Bonvoy member, am traveling with children --zero compassion, zero humanity. How can we be expected to pay the rate of the reservation when we're not getting what we paid for? Needed two overnight stays nearby the Houston Intercontinental Airport on a recent trip, and this Springhill Suites fit the bill. Got a good AAA rate and they had an airport shuttle, so worked out well for my limited needs. Typical Springhill Suites amenities, several fast food eateries & a convenience store within walking distance. Good when I got in with enough time to go. The second overnight came on top of a 5 hour delay (flight could not land due to thunderstorm). The Taco Bell, Jack in the Box, and little kitchen in the convenience store was either closed or only up to drive through. Would stay again for similar rates. Repeat and recommend! read more

I do NOT recommend this location! Here is my list of reasons why... 1. Breakfast is from 6a-9a.. I went down at 7:30am and the three warm item selections they had left looked old! 2. 2pm asked they front checkin employee to send someone up to clean our room and during more towels... we were told ok and she would send someone to our room. We returned to our room after 7pm and the room was not touched. My husband called the front desk to see what happened and he was told by a different employee that they clean every other day... my husband asked do they want us to pay every other day? The lady told my husband not to be rude to her and that he could come down himself to get the towels!!! I was furious so I went down to speak with this lady. I told her that what we were told by her coworker (who was standing next to her) and the excuse I got was... she is training and misinformed us. Well that is not our problem and that is on them for poor training. Then I told her I didn't appreciate her speaking to my husband the way she did and how she told him that if he wants towels to come get then (she was very rude and unprofessional to him) which I expressed to her and that she should of brought the towels up! 3. Called for the hotel shuttle to put us up from terminal C and the shuttle driver that he didn't want to pick us up from C because of the traffic and that we would have to walk to a different terminal if he was to pick us up!!!! Staff could not have been kinder in dealing with our very-fluid travel plans (we cancelled and then reinstated our reservation when our flight boarded and then de-planed for the night). Sleeping on clouds. After a long day of travel and navigating different connecting flight to finally get to IAH I needed a good night sleep. There are many options in the area and I decided on Springhill Suites Houston because of the reviews. They say that everything is bigger in Texas and I am still very impressed by the sheer size of the room. Complete with a microwave and refrigerator and a small living room area I was already smiling. Walking into a cool 69-degree room was also a plus. We are on a roll here. . Very clean and complete with all the amenities. The bathroom has a standing showing which I prefer over the tubs. This is where it gets great. I took a shower and was ready for bed and jumped in. One of the most comfortable beds I have slept in. It became painfully obvious that my pillows at home need to be changed because they have vehemently refused to provide this level of comfort. Highly disappointing. The front desk staff was extremely pleasant and the room was to be expected. The real issue with this location is the shuttle driver to/from the airport. Upon arriving at the airport for my departure (along with another family) the driver immediately got out of the car and demanded a tip from everyone. A member from the other family walked away and he actually had the nerve to shout and call her back to the van asking where his tip was. Im a platinum elite member and with all the times I've stayed at a Marriott property, no matter the location, I have never been treated like this before. Will not be staying here again and will be rethinking taking my business to another hotel provider. read more

This is a very nice and convenient hotel by the airport. The rooms are very clean and appear fairly new although they are probably not. The lobby is fairly large with plenty of room to have business meetings or just relax and watch TV from one of many of their flat screens. The breakfast variety hot or cold they provide in the morning is wonderful. Also all of their staff is friendly and attentive. This hotel does not offer bottles of water to hotel guests, even to platinum elite members or for breakfast! I can choose Sunny D for breakfast or nothing else. When I asked about bottles of water they said they don't do that. You don't get any bottles of water in the hotel room as part of platinum elite privileges either. I don't understand why giving a hotel guest one or two bottles of water is a big deal, especially Bonvoy members that are loyal to Marriott. This place was a godsend. We missed our United connection because of weather, so we were completely on our own for lodging. The hotel shuttle took us from the airport where we encountered several other stranded groups. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and accommodating (which is more than I can say for the United staff). They quickly housed all of us. The rooms were large and clean. The toilet is separate from the shower, which is great when you're sharing space. There was a couch in the "living room" area and we had access to HBO on demand for free. There's a cute little pool. Breakfast was "grab and go" because of covid which meant cereal, fruit, and snack bars to take back to the room. Overall, I'd stay there again. A lifesaver. United made us miss a connecting flight, and "graciously" allowed us to stay overnight for free at a nearby Wyndham behind a Waffle House. We stayed in our room for about 5 minutes before agreeing that we absolutely could not sleep there. Nice staff but terrible facilities. We instead paid out of pocket for Springhill, and it was so worth it. Houston airport and United Airlines are the worst. But thank goodness for SpringHill. United made sure that we missed our connecting flight and wanted my to accept a 20 dollar voucher for Motel 8 at 1 in the morning. No way!!! I called this clean and comfortable location and explained what was going on. I was given a very good price and treated with kindness. I had a business trip planned for Houston & since there are a slew of hotels by the Houston airport, I asked our HR Mgr for suggestions. She recommended Springhill Suites, which is a Marriott brand. Because my husband & I had a horrible experience at a Marriott hotel near Miami back in 2010, I try to avoid them. But I trusted our HR Mgr for her input. From the minute I walked in, the front desk staff was so friendly & sincere. They were not there to confirm my arrival & hand me key cards, they actually carried a conversation with me. They explained that they offer a free breakfast at 6am & showed me where the station would be set up each morning. When I entered my hotel room, I was pleased with the layout. As I walked through the room, I noticed more amenities that "really" impressed me. * Free wireless without a password * Coffee/Tea Maker with refrigerator * Desk for your laptop & a fancy chair (looked like a Herman Miller) * The table lamp on one night stand had electrical outlets (which allowed me to charge my iPhone over night) * Bathroom was separated (Toilet & small sink, then large shower with large vanity sink) * The shower also had horizontal shower heads --- Wow!!! * By the other night stand, there was a iHome with a clock * The bed was soooooooo comfortable!!!!!! * Their lobby was pretty stylish with cool furniture * Since I got sick before my business trip, I asked them if they had individual medication that I can purchase. They had a market center with snacks, toiletries, medicine, etc. That mini store was very convenient. * Their breakfast offered everything --- hot oatmeal with the fixings, cereal, bagels, muffins, eggs, sausage, assorted fruit & drinks. We are staying here for 1 night before going on a Disney cruise out of Galveston tomorrow. It had the best rate and Yelp ratings of the other airport hotels, so we took a gamble. It's a really cute, retro/art deco hotel right on hotel row minutes from IAH. The location is actually the worst part about the hotel, because there is nothing to do here if you don't have a car (Houston is at least a 30-minute drive). Absolutely NOTHING. We arrived at lunch time and should have eaten in the airport because there are slim pickings for dining that are within walking distance. We took the free hotel shuttle, dropped off our bags in our rooms, then started to look for food. Aside from having to navigate an enormous busy boulevard on foot, our only choices in the immediate area were: Jack-in-the-Box, Church's chicken (located in a gas station) and Taco Bell. We ventured a little further down the highway and discovered a Subway, a mediocre Mediterranean place (Alwadi, where we had lunch), Kung Food, and Gumbo Jeaux (a creole joint). That's it. Or, you can try the hotel lobby's bistro-style menu that has 4 items on it, but it opens at 5pm so we couldn't eat there for lunch. We may try it for dinner, or see if we can grab dinner in the Sheraton or Doubletree hotel restaurants down the street. As for SpringHill Suites itself, we have two adjoining rooms for the 6 of us, which is great. The rooms are clean and comfortable and each has a little coffee maker, fridge and microwave. There is free wifi, which I am using now to write this review, and there are enough TV stations for the kids to watch Cartoon Network in their room while I watch House Hunters International in my room. The bathrooms are cleverly disguised as closets behind sliding doors and are actually separated into two rooms, one with toilet and sink, the other with shower and second sink. I've never seen this design before but it's cool. I will finalize the review once we've spent the night, possibly eaten dinner in the lobby, and returned on the free shuttle back to the airport. I'm looking forward to the breakfast in the morning, which is included with the room and that looks like what Hampton Inn does for its breakfast buffet. There would have been more for us to do if the outdoor heated pool didn't feel like a hot tub, and my kids are too young to use the fitness center. So we are pretty much resigned to watching TV, resting, and playing around in our rooms, which even though isn't that interesting or touristy, is actually relaxing in its own way. read more

Was debating staying here or the grandmas house an hour away and chose this hotel due to the price of only $88 for the night and it turned out to be a 5 star experience. This hotel has it all, soon as you park and walk in the friendly staff greets you and spares to expense in talking to you and helping you check in. They have a hotel bar which I didn't indulge in but soon as we got to our room on the first floor which was AWESOME to walk right in I noticed a huge spacious room with a desk, couch, divider from the bed. It also had a separate bathroom/sink from the shower bathroom that also had it's own sink. Two bathrooms, to some people this is a big deal, and the bed was super comfortable and had charging stations for your phone right next to the bed on both sides and was super clean and comfortable. This is one of the best Springhill hotels I have ever stayed in. And quite frankly, the decor, amenities and comfort surpasses the quality of many other higher end Marriott properties. I traveled to Houston for business and decided to stay close to the airport. This would cut down the commute when I flew out the next day and allow me the benefit of knowing where I was going without the use of GPS. I booked the room about ten hours before I arrived. I had no contexts but believed the great ratings of other Yelpers. Words cannot describe how great this place is. It's spacious, super clean, contemporary and competitively priced. The room is equipped with a microwave, sink and refrigerator. The shower is separated from the toilet. There is a desk, sofabed, plenty of lighting and an awesome showerhead. It sprays at the mid section and above your head. I highly recommend you stay here. It is not in any way close to city life but in many respects, worth the drive. read more

Haven't slept yet but anticipating a good night sleep. Also, I understand that they have a great complimentary breakfast, so looking forward to that. Did I mention that the staff has been great?!? So, got to bed the first night AND the beds were so comfortable and for being so near the airport, this hotel was so quiet, so well taken care of and clean and it remained that way my whole stay. Slowest hotel Wi-Fi I've experienced in like 5 years leaving me unable to work from my room, seriously need to work on that. Plus no coffee in the lobby at 3pm. Wtf. A little advice for anyone in the hotel industry, a lot of us that travel for work only ask for a few things,. A clean room, fast Wi-Fi so we can work at night while we are stuck in hotel rooms across the country and a good cup of coffee. My wife and I loved this hotel when we stayed here in May. The room was newer and impressive, we loved the split bathrooms and the clean room, and we really enjoyed the hot breakfast in the morning. The staff was very attentive and friendly. But the Operations Manager, Terry, went beyond the call of duty for us after we returned home to NJ and discovered that the airport TSA had mistakenly taken some of our possessions. With complicated options to retrieve them, and little help from the TSA, he volunteered to personally retrieve them and send them to us. He really solved our dilemma, and we're extremely grateful. We were treated like family and are very appreciative. We're big fans now of SpringHill Suites with this kind of caring! read more
