Solid hotel. It was safe, clean, quiet, and the breakfast was yummy! I'm happy to have stayed here! Friendly and helpful front desk, clean rooms and cute little pool out back. It was quiet and the temperature in the room adjusted very quickly to what we wanted. I liked that we could charge our car for free! The free breakfast had yogurt options, bagels, muffins, oatmeal with a ton of healthy toppings, ham Gouda on croissant, spinach and egg white quiche, well cooked bacon, sausage egg and cheese on a biscuit, fresh fruit, juices and milk, tea and coffee. I booked and prepaid for a room on August 20 at SpringHill Suites by Marriott Riverside/Redlands for Labor Day weekend, September 5-7. I specifically chose and paid for this property expecting my confirmed reservation to be honored. When I arrived on September 5, I was told the hotel had overbooked and did not have a room for me. I was sent to Citrus Suites, a significantly less expensive property that was a downgrade from the hotel I had booked. When I arrived at Citrus Suites, I was told they were completely sold out and could not accommodate me. I then had to drive back to SpringHill Suites and explain the situation all over again. The manager on duty, Silvino Diaz, apologized and ultimately had his team locate a room at their sister property, Aloft in Ontario/Rancho Cucamonga--approximately 24 minutes away from the hotel I had originally booked and paid for. Fortunately, the Aloft staff was accommodating and I was finally able to get a room. However, I should never have had to go through three hotels to find somewhere to stay when I had a confirmed, prepaid reservation. I spoke with General Manager John Maciel on September 8. While he apologized, he could not explain how the hotel became overbooked and offered no meaningful resolution beyond an apology. The biggest issue is accountability. A hotel should not accept and confirm payment for a reservation if it cannot honor that reservation. Sending a paying guest from one hotel to another--only to discover the second hotel is also sold out--is completely unacceptable. I chose this Marriott property based on its location, accommodations, and price point. Instead, I was given a downgrade, sent to a second hotel that had no availability, and ultimately relocated more than 20 minutes away. I will not be staying at this property again, and I will be escalating this experience to Marriott Corporate. I strongly encourage management to review its reservation and overbooking procedures so that other guests with confirmed reservations do not experience the same situation. A confirmed reservation should mean exactly that--confirmed. read more

We've stayed at this location occasionally when visiting the area, and as Marriott Gold Elite members, our stays here have generally been good. However, our recent experience fell well short of expectations. I booked our room a week before arrival and requested an early check-in. Upon arrival, the front desk agent immediately dismissed the request with a flat "no," saying the only thing he could do was guarantee our 3:00 PM check-in. Typically, hotels offer to take your phone number and give you a call if a room opens up early, but no effort was made here. When we returned at 3:00 PM to check in, things got worse. Despite booking two queen beds, we were assigned an ADA accessible room on the first floor with a single king bed. The room featured cold vinyl flooring, a tiny bathroom vanity, and a roll-in shower--not at all what we requested or paid for. Got my first room here and the toilet was overflowing and bathroom was flooded as soon as I got into my room. I told the front desk and they said that they will send maintenance up. 4 hours past and im in my soiled room with no one coming by. I went down again and they told me maintenance is not there. Well you could of told me that. They gave me a the next room for inconvenience and as soon as i walked in, it smelled like onions. Even with ac blasting it smelled. I'm writing this update because a food option for visitors just upgraded: out with mediocre pizza, in with delicious Indian food. Have you ever arrived at a hotel after a long flight or drive and you're really not in the mood to get back in a car and hunt for food? You'd rather walk, but since you're weary -- not really far? SpringHill Suites visitors now have the crazy convenience of NAMASTE, which is now the area's best Indian food restaurant. This hotel was clean and comfortable! Check in was easy and the front desk even called to make sure everything was as expected in the room shortly after we got settled in. We had a king suite and the restrooms were remodeled and the bed was comfortable. They had a breakfast that looked decent, although we didn't try it. Stayed during a very busy festival weekend. Parking was completely full and we were told to use red zones as overflow, which we appreciated. However, communication from one front desk staff member, the male Asian that works graveyard was dismissive, condescending and disrespectful when we asked follow-up questions, which added stress after a long night (including a fire alarm incident which had everybody up at 4am for an hour). Other staff were helpful and kind. Would recommend clearer, more consistent communication and better parking situations during peak events especially for a brand at this level. Check in went smoothly enough, but our initial room, #201, had no working a/c only heat. And after maintenance tinkered with it for about 30 minutes, we ended up being transferred to the room next door, #203. So much cooler. No more room glitches, but like our recent stay in Lancaster, this Marriott property also had poor offerings for breakfast. With even fewer choices as a matter of fact. But the attendant, Jan, will go out of her way to try to provide what she can for you. Even finding turkey patties for us that weren't offered or sitting out. Something about their food deliveries not coming in timely. Okay for a one night stay but probably not for us again. read more

We enjoyed our stay here; we had a 2 queen bed with a sofa with a pullout mattress and/or sleeping option on top. Also, a desk, a large closet, and the barnyard door to the bathroom, and the TV had a greeting and farewell personalized screen to us. The pool I didn't try but the gym was decent. The continental breakfast was exceptional because of the customer service of the staff, especially Jan; she made all of us feel we were VIP's; going out of her way to make sure we were all good. Had a room reserved and was notified that a staff member accidentally gave my room away, leaving them overbooked for when I came to check in. They offered to pay for my stay at a nearby hotel, and when I went there, they let me know the room would be at my expense until Spring Hill Suites could refund me. I drove two hours to enjoy a concert in the area without having to worry about driving home, and I am leaving driving home because the staff is not trained to keep rooms. Great stay at SpringHill Suites by Marriott! Check-in was smooth and easy, and the staff made the process hassle-free. The rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable, which made the stay even better. A big plus was the lobby offering coffee 24/7--always appreciated. Breakfast was definitely better than the typical hotel breakfast. The cinnamon waffles were delicious, and they also had eggs, sausage, and egg croissant sandwiches that were really good. Other options included four different types of cereal, blueberry muffins, and milk from the carton (TruMoo), which was a nice touch. A couple of small notes for future guests: if you prefer firm pillows, you may want to bring your own, as the pillows provided are very soft. Also, the Wi-Fi is not secured or unique to each room, which may matter to those who work or travel with sensitive devices. Overall, a great experience from start to finish. I travel a lot for work, typically SpringHill suites is a reputable establishment. This does not pertain to this particular location, and frankly it appears the staff and management do not care. Recently "stayed" at this place, until I was compelled to leave due to the condition of their rooms and the infestation of bed bugs in both rooms I was placed. Seriously, do not stay here, your health is way more important than saving a few bucks. Really hope they turn this place around, but if you check past reviews, seems they have knows there's an issue for awhile. They would rather downplay the issue, as opposed to take responsibility and make real change. Do better !! read more

If I could leave zero stars, I would. I booked a room around midnight on a Saturday (9/7) night/sunday morning (due to power outage from fires) and their front desk tells me they have no availability for that night, that they'd cancel my reservation and recommend for my family and I (hubs and 2 year old baby at 1215am) to go to the Marriott at the Riverside Convention Center because they showed they had availability, so I did. Few weeks pass by and still no refund on room that they explicitly told me they'd cancel. I've called to speak to General Manager but keep getting sent to voicemail. read more

Many times I choose or choose not to stay at hotels based on Yelp reviews so it's particularly frustrating when a reasonably priced and comfortable hotel gets bad or fake reviews. I stayed here for 2 nights during a music festival this past weekend. The rooms were over priced due to the event as always in the area. I was very disappointed on my over all experience. The staff was great, very friendly. The breakfast was awful, but i must say i loved Jan's attitude by the kitchen, she was sweet. Breakfast consisted of bland eggs, round sausage links that were just the worst, lots of cereal, breads, and brown bananas. Sadly, the juice was the best part. The room was nice, but the pillows were the worst. They were super flat and felt cotton filled. The worst part was that i got bitten by bed bugs! I spent $1,100 for my 2 days and i feel robbed. My husband and I recently stayed at the Springhill Suites in Redlands. The room was nice, (#115) but the smell from some kind of cleaning product and/or bug spray was so bad, I could barely sleep. The smell permeated into my clothing and hair, and I could smell the odor long after we left the hotel. It was so horrible! We only planned staying for one night, so I stuck it out until the next morning. The following morning when we went to breakfast, although the staff member was very friendly, the food was completely unappetizing. All they had to offer was heated up pre-packaged food, and cereal or yogurt. My husband and I thought that since this was a Marriott hotel, we were expecting at least fresh scrambled eggs, bacon or pancakes or waffles as we had experienced in other hotel chains. Needless to say, we will not be staying there again, and I will never get over the smell that lingered in my clothes until I got home to wash them. read more

We stayed in room 206 for 4 days. First of all, our fridge is not working, the tissue box in our bathroom is empty and to top it off... the PILLOWS SUCKS! I have a neck and back problem and this pillows is so bad that even though you stuck 4 pillows.. you don't feel the comfort.. that's the longest 4 nights. There breakfast is not that great. They only served hard boiled eggs, a wrapped quiche, English muffins with egg and cereals. Not a lot of proteins variants. ALL CARBS OVERLOAD!!! they need to check the rooms before they open it to customers. The room is very modern and clean. The air conditioner/heater is VERY loud and sounds like a diesel. The water pressure in the shower is horrible and goes in and out. The beds are normal comfort. The closet is very spacious and has storage room. Where the television is located is very awkward. Someone in the far bed will not be able to watch it. My kids loved the breakfast not the best healthy eating options but very clean and the two staff at breakfast were also extremely nice ! New, super clean, quiet. My family stayed in the 2 queen bed suite - nice, clean, modern room with a spacious closet, big bathroom. The entire staff (including Jan the breakfast lady, housekeeping, and the front desk staff - Tash, the other girl, and the other guy working during our stay) were super friendly and welcoming. Let me start by saying we spent 6 nights here, so I feel I began to understand the culture. Arriving on Christmas evening, we were greeted by a friendly front desk staff. When we pulled into the parking lot, I saw they had 4 charging stations for EVs. When I inquired of the staff, I was pleasantly surprised to learn charging is complimentary. (The charging slots do tend to fill up later in the evenings, but we were able to secure one each of our nights there). We met one of the service staff, who initiated a conversation with us and thanked us several times for staying with them. Breakfast started at 06:30 each weekday morning and at 07:00 on the weekends. Jan, the lady who ran the breakfast single handed was someone you could tell loved her job. She was engaging and delighted to take your things away if you were finished. She assured us the Turkey sausage patties they were serving Monday morning were 100% Turkey and did not contain any other meats. She was always upbeat and a delight to see each morning. Her days off are Wednesday and Thursday, and let's just say the gentleman covering for her was not as engaging. The room we found to be modern with a remote for the blinds, and a smart, wall mounted, flat screen television. We stayed in a King Suite and the room size was comfortable. Really large restroom as well. There a few things keeping this from being a 5 star hotel. First, room service is every other day. One morning I was greeted by a pile of dirty towels outside of someone's room and a bag of trash outside another person's room. Due to us staying a little later on one of the house keeping mornings, they did not come back to clean our room. So for the 6 nights we were there, we only had room service one time. Staff at the front desk are happy to provide clean towels on those mornings the house keeping doesn't come by. Also, there was no safe in the room. The area felt safe enough, but a safe would have added another level of security. Remember the service person we met? Well, we met her because there in no service elevator. The guest's elevators are used by the service personnel with there large carts. I had to pass on an elevator on one occasion because a service person and their oversized cart filled the elevator. A service elevator would have been a nice touch to avoid these types of situations. Lastly, breakfast entrees could use an overhaul. The first morning there was a prepackaged spinach quiche with Turkey sausage patties. The second and third mornings there were Jimmy Dean prepackaged breakfast sandwiches and little quiche appetizers. The days Jan were off, they served scrambled eggs and pork sausage patties. Jan had let us know the day before her days off they would be serving waffles on Saturday, which we didn't see because we left before the breakfast officially started. The main stays were dry cereal, instant oatmeal, cold hard boiled eggs, and yogurt. Overall, we did enjoy our stay and I would stay here again. The room rates ranged from $116 for the first night and continued to increase each night with the last night showing a charge of $427. There were no parking fees or added charges, except for taxes. There is a little store area at the front desk with a self-checkout feature. They are pricey there, but that is to be expected. As mentioned in the amenities, there is a workout room. 3 treadmills, 2 elliptical machines, mats for yoga, and dumbbells. If you think just by staying at a hotel won't make you sick, think again. I was bitten by bedbugs on my legs and hands at this location. My bites blistered, feet swelled, then got a skin infection from torso to toes. I had to take a cortisone and antibiotic injections, plus 10 days of oral antibiotics and 2 more meds. SpringHill Suites Redlands Marrriot has offered little consideration for my pain and suffering. If you are bitten by what looks like ants while staying at a hotel, don't take any chances, get out! If the bites don't resolve in a few days, see your Doctor. read more

avoid at all costs. $300+ a night to be woken up at 4am by a phone call from front desk and be told i will be kicked out?!? how is that even possible when my wife and i were asleep? i ask for the employees name and they hang up. call front desk and ask for managers info and they said "for what because people are complaining about you?" I let them know it is 4am and incredibly rude to wake people up like that and it needed to be discussed, she said talk to the manager about it but didnt know when they'd be in and hang up again. I'm not sure what caused this but i didn't deserve to be woken up at 4am by someone with poor customer service and negative life qualities at these prices or any for that matter read more
