I don't often write reviews, but this stay deserves one. The Ayres Hotel Redlands is genuinely one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at in a long time -- the lobby is gorgeous, the room was spotless, and the beds were comfortable. I was seriously impressed with how clean and well-kept the whole property was. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, and the location was great too -- close to the Packing District, easy freeway access, and a quick Uber to the nearby casino. We did run into a billing mix-up related to Expedia, but a staff member named Ariana helped sort it out and made sure it was resolved. Really appreciated her help. One small note: our coffee maker didn't have sugar or creamer, but the front lobby had us covered, so no big deal. My only real critique isn't specific to this hotel -- it's more of a hospitality industry thing. Checkout was at 12pm and check-in at 3pm, which means guests never actually get a full 24 hours even though that's essentially what you're paying for. I'd love to see hotels move toward at least a 24-hour stay window, even if that just means pushing checkout to 1pm. Overall though, this hotel is an excellent example of what a hotel brand should be, and I hope their other locations hold to the same standard. Highly recommend. read more

Well they were sweethearts from the start! I called multiple times to ask questions ans ensure I'd pick the right room and dates. Staff were kind throughout the process leading onto the date of reservation. The place was nice and clean and ready for our stay. Staff were welcoming and supportive. From reservations to check-in, everything was seamless. The lobby was beautifully decorated and gave a sense of comfort. The front desk staff was friendly. She answered all my questions and provided addtional suggestions. The room I stayed in was on the ground floor. Parking right at the door with plenty of additional spaces as needed. I felt safe and the lighting was good all around. Inside the room was immaculate. The furnishings fit the theme they set. Sorry no pictures. I was there to sleep and I did, easily. The bed was comfortable, pillows had good support and blankets were crispy clean. If I ever need to stay in the Redlands area again, I would definitely choose this location every time. This is one of our go to places when visiting the area. The rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained. The beds are cozy with plenty of charging ports within reach. Additional amenities include a common areas, pool, hot tub and gym. It is located in a commercial and we have never experienced any problems with noise or unruly activity. Traveling from Salem, Oregon to Tucson, Arizona, we stopped at this place after 16 hours of continuous driving. We were exhausted! I was expecting nothing more than an ordinary roadside motel, so not expecting much. I couldn't have been more wrong. The parking lot was more than full, but I did not see any trash, overflowing, trash cans, or anything that instantly turned me off. Check in process was straightforward, and the inside of the hotel looked great! As we made our way to our room, which was located on a side area, we had to enter through a gate in the back, near the pool. The pool area was lively, with kids, laughing and splashing, and having loads of fun. My immediate thought was, "I'm glad we are on the other side of the hotel, away from the noise." my second thought was, "I pity the poor people that have to clean up after all of these kids." The next morning, as we made our way to the front to enjoy a complementary breakfast, we passed by the pool. I was absolutely astounded at how clean the area looked, as well as the crystal clear water. Some kind of magic happened overnight. I also noticed several housekeeping carts scattered throughout the premises, housekeeping busy at work, turning over the rooms. The complimentary breakfast... Absolutely amazing! A "home-cooked "breakfast consisting of eggs, meat, potatoes, and various bread, juices,, coffee, etc. And again, the breakfast area was neat and orderly. What an incredible experience. Not at all what I expected. I had asked to speak with a manager, but was told none were on site. Not even a supervisor. I wasn't disappointed, I was surprised. This reinforced what a great team looks like. They do what they are expected to do, and they do it to the best of their ability, without any management oversight. Congratulations to all of you! My room right next to the swimming pool. There was a dirty cup And some papers on my desk when I got in the room. Housekeeping was notified and they immediately took care of it. The bed was super comfortable, the TV was easy to work, the ceilings were high in some areas and there a nice sitting area. I was booked at this Ayres Hotel for a work-related conference at the neighboring University of Redlands. It doesn't look like much, as it is a bit more of a motel than a hotel, in that you park in front of your door and walk into your room. Check-in was easy and quick, and the staff was friendly. It is located about a 5 minute drive from Downtown Redlands and a 7 minute drive from University of Redlands, making it a prime location for various events. However, the area that the hotel is directly in, isn't the nicest and doesn't feel the safest. I usually go walking after long days of conferences, and this time, I decided to drive to a safer location for an evening stroll. Aside from the slightly shady location, I have nothing bad to say. The room was clean and relatively large for a 2 queen room. There was a large bathtub and small fridge. The air condition worked very well, as it gets really hot in Redlands. I didn't spend much time at the hotel, so did not check out the pool or the workout room. They mentioned that they have a "manager's social hour" from 5-6 each day. Though I did not attend due to other commitments, I stuck my head into the lobby area on my way out just to see what it was. Looked like they were serving free beer and wine to hotel guests. I saw a lot of people mingling and having a good time. The hotel serves a free breakfast every morning. The first morning, I was running behind so I just grabbed a couple of muffins and coffee. The next morning I had a full breakfast including a made-to-order omelette, potatoes, sausage and a bagel. The omelette was really excellent. The ingredients were fresh which tons of veggies, and the omelette was perfectly cooked. The omelette guy should open a breakfast restaurant. I would go. If you stay at this Ayres, do yourself a favor, and get an omelette. Anyway, all in all, I had a positive experience as this simple, but nice hotel. read more

I stayed here on 12/31/2025. I stay at this hotel often, and I'm always told to not smoke in the room. So I don't I go to my vehicle. I smoke outside and then I go back in the room. I've stayed in this hotel on numerous occasions and never been charged a fee for smoking on this day. I got charged a fee for smoking in the room. When I never do I will not be going back to this hotel and I will not be staying there anymore. If you didn't want black people to stay in your hotel, that's all you had to say. You didn't have to lie and say I smoked in the room. read more

A decent hotel in the area of Redlands! Check in was breezy and lobby is spacious and welcoming. There was another woman checking in next to us that brought her dog, so for an extra fee the hotel does allow dogs. The room sizes are pretty good and beds were okay. The room was clean but not updated. I really appreciated the fridge and microwave! There was also a desk and had a living room area. The included breakfast the next morning was really convenient, there has a really nice chef making fresh omelettes and there was a small offering of potatoes, sausage, and waffles. Coffee station is available too and cereal. A nice touch is the heated pool! It's been really cold lately and the pool felt amazing! There is a also a large heated jacuzzi and small exercise room in that area as well. They do offer room blocks here! I had my wedding in Redlands a few years back and that was convenient for wedding guest to have pool, breakfast and be close to venue. The downsides were the loud AC/ Heat unit that kept going on and off all night and would not turn off no matter how hard we tried and its right next to the freeway so I needed earplugs. Also the rooms facing the pool can get loud since its near the washer/dryers and the poolside people since its open at night and people get rowdy. read more

We had a reservation on Saturday, 09/13/2025 at Ayres in Redlands-Loma Linda. And thankfully, we were able to get a state employee rate & we thought it was great. Sad thing was that we had already left the house & driving down more than 10 mins. then suddenly realized i forgot to bring my State ID. Of course, had to drive back home to grab it. Leaving 3:00am from San Jose, Ca, we were totally exhausted & hungry when we arrived Ayres Hotel to check-in. Just to find out that they need a work order to get the reserved rate rather than just the State ID. Whaaaat? We were just dumbfounded by this. Cindy Ybarra, the General Manager should explicitly stated the needed work order instead of saying the ID would work on the phone. I strongly believe this was just one way communication on the manager's part as the receptionist said that Cindy Y. had a note on it. Furthermore, when we tried to cancel the reservation, the Assistant Manager, (name?) said it so loud across the front desk from the office that we had to pay the cancellation fee. Obviously, we were not ready to do that so we made them call Cindy Y.on the phone as she was not present. In the end, they did cancel without the penalty but our experience was "0" if i can rate it. At this point, we were extremely upset, sad & miserable. However, very luckily, we found a very nice pleasant & accommodating hotel nearby. The Irony of this experience was that we got a better rate than Ayres' Work Order Discounted Rate. read more

Solid solid solid! ATTN: DO NOT GET ROOM 140 If not for them allowing us to check in several hours early, which was much appreciated, we would have definitely asked to switch rooms. ROOM 140 is right next to the laundry room and the dryers are really loud. Not only are they loud, but they also shake the bathroom, and the throne!?!? Other than the aforementioned, this is a pretty sweet spot to campout. It's right off the freeway and the TVs are huge (55 inch I believe -don't forget your fire stick). The rooms are LARGE, specifically the hanging out area adjacent to the desk and coffee table; this spot is definitely big enough for a little dance party action. The bed was big and comfy, the room was clean, staff were friendly and helpful-shout out Matthew (long haired associate at the front desk) and the shorter associate, with I believe it was a lip piercing, serving up breakfast. The complimentary breakfast was better than most with a diy waffle maker (only 1 though), coffee, juices, scrambled eggs two ways-plain or with mushrooms and spinach, sausage, bagels, toast, and more! Check-in was 3pm and checkout was noon. Room had nice. Unfortunately the room smelled heavily of tar from the roofing happening at the adjacent business. Once we closed the door and blasted the AC, the smell dissipated. No smoking or vaping in the rooms (I believe the charge was $150+). A short drive from Speakeasy on State. Enjoy! read more

There are lots of patches of grass. It worked out okay enough. Some people said it was a "sketchy" area, but it isn't too bad. Yes, there is a freeway overpass, but there wasn't anybody out there lurking around so you can take your dog potty at an odd hour if necessary. I apologize to the people in rooms 142 and 140 for my dog barking loudly every now and then. She saw her reflection in the mirror and was upset thinking it was another dog. lol. read more

When booking it gave the option to put in the comments, anything we may need to notify the hotel of. We had written our wedding was that day and normally check-in is in the afternoon, however we would be arriving after 11 PM due to the reception not ending until 10 PM. When we arrived, we were checked in very quickly, and there was a bottle of rosé, waiting for us in the room on ice. The staff at this location were very sweet and considerate, and when it came to breakfast, this was one of the best hotel breakfasts I have ever had. They even had grilled Serrano peppers. I've stayed at the Ayres Hotel multiple times. I was impressed with the cleanliness, hospitality of staff and management, and complimentary breakfasts each morning. Each evening there was a meet and greet with the management that included refreshments and a charcuterie plate. The location was ideal for shopping and dinning in downtown Redlands. Booked this hotel while I was in town for a friend's wedding. A few people in the wedding party cancelled their reservations the week leading up to the wedding because they heard the area was "sketchy" Yes, the area right outside the hotel entrance isn't the most aesthetically pleasing. You're right next to a freeway underpass. Maybe my standards are low coming from Los Angeles, but the freeway underpass area was free of trash and debris and there were no homeless encampments so I was not bothered. The hotel let me check in early at 10am with no problems or issues. The complimentary breakfast was great, they even have an omelet bar. Our room was clean, the pool and jacuzzi area is nice. I'd recommend spending the extra money to get an "interior" room. The exterior rooms face the parking lot and you're more likely to hear freeway noises. I couldn't hear any freeway noises from our interior rooms or the courtyard/pool area. Couple friendly and kid/family friendly. Came to this hotel cuz we were going to a concert at Yaamava. This is about 15-min from the venue. Easy. The hotel is lovely. Clean and staff are professional. Ayres has been our goto hotel for years. The rooms are always spotless, the beds are very comfortable, the shower is good, and the amenities are very nice. We had a small problem with this stay. At around 11:30, someone tried to get into our room. It seems that the front desk rented our room to another person. They were very apologetic and gave us a discount when we checked out. Mistakes happen. It's how you handle the mistake. They handled it promptly and satisfactorily. My only complaint is I went to get a glass of orange juice. I understood that the free breakfast ends at 9:00. I was there at 9:04. I didn't want breakfast, just a glass of orange juice. I was told breakfast was over and I couldn't get any. The coffee was still available. I will continue to stay at Ayres when I am in the area. It's a good hotel. read more

I found this out when I wanted to change the reservations from three nights to two nights . calling Ayres I was redirected to reservations.com. The hotel is close to a few shops and restaurants. I would stay here again if I was in the area. ::Reservations: I made a mistake by booking the reservation with a third-party vendor. Good thing I called the hotel to compare the prices. Ayres offered a better rate than the agency. I ended up canceling my reservation and booking it through the Ayres hotel. ::Food:: Every morning they serve complimentary breakfast. Well I arrived to Bo at around 6-ish and was in my room without any delays or hiccups. I was mid trip from Arizona to Chico California and was able to get a good nights rest. The continental breakfast was amazing and the view from my room was gorgeous. In the morning after my breakfast (just to be sure) I asked if check out was at 11... Arianna told me it was At noon! I proceeded to return to my room for a couple more hours of luxurious rest and relaxation... Arianna made sure I was able to checkout just a bit later with her assistance. I had a bit of trouble getting packed back up to leave and there was no issue with the time adjustment. I was provided wit excellent customer service and will most likely visit again on my way home. I had a really pleasant experience here. I traveled to Redlands for a professional exam. Upon mentioning this to the front desk, they thoughtfully moved us to a room toward the back of the property so I wouldn't be bothered by the traffic noise. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Some minor cosmetic upgrades and updates could be made but overall I was quite comfortable. Arrived home dumped our dirty laundry on top of the dryer, which we were placing in a open weave laundry bag during our two day stay. And to our amazement, a one inch cockroach accompanied the contents of the bag. That being said, our stay was pleasant, the room was comfortable, the staff was great , the breakfast was more than good. All and all we were pleased with our stay. This hotel is by far the best of the best ! Rooms are super clean,updated and spacious. Breakfast is wonderful! Omelettes are made to order. Clean room (with fridge AND microwave!) and spotless grounds, helpful and diligent staff (actually working on the property when we were there-touching up paint outside), custom made omlettes and more for breakfast than we expected, free beer/wine with charcuterie later afternoon, lovely well maintained pool/whirlpool tub and gym, and comfy beds! You will never beat this bargain! We will continue to stay here when we're in the area for years to come! Diane and I recently stayed in this Ayres hotel for two nights while our nearby house in Redlands was recording 89 degrees Farenheit inside. This was just before and during the period when our kaput air conditioning system was being replaced with a new and improved system. It was a pleasant stay. Our king bed room was comfortable, the flat screen TV quite large, available channels numerous, and the air conditioner worked well. Perhaps best of all, the included breakfast was prepared by an on site chef, and included hot Scrambled Eggs and Sausage. I enjoyed the large swimming pool and hot spa all to myself around dusk one of the nights, and it was a nice way to get refreshed from the relentless California afternoon heat in cool water, and then soothe the limbs in warm water afterward. When I notified the desk that no clean towels were available at the pool, they were quickly resupplied. And, even though our room was very near a freeway and well-traveled street, the soundproofing of our room was so good that I heard no noise outside at any time, and both nights slept like a baby. read more
