Today was my first time to visit the Sarasota location. The girls working there were super sweet and helpful. There were plenty of choices to pick from and there were a lot of inventory to view. I wanted to try the cupcake sundae. I chose the salty caramel cupcake with the vanilla bean ice cream. It was a delicious combination! I loved the interior decor and the option for the ATM is so cute!! Definitely a place worth visiting!! I want to go back and try the milkshake next time!! read more

This review is purely for the customer service at this particular location. They offer curbside pickup online and it has clear instruction for this on the website yet the staff are not doing their job. When I called to say I had arrived I was told I could come get my package on the shelf and that they don't really do curbside pickup. This is completely unprofessional and the store is clearly not managed well. read more

Several years ago I sampled my first "Sprinkles Cupcake" in Dallas Texas and absolutely fell in love with that cake. The frosting was fluffy soft, moist and bursting with flavor, with the attached cupcake which melted in your mouth with moist/rich perfection! I dreaded returning to our city that did not have a "Sprinkles" to frequent. I was super excited when it was announced "Sprinkles" would soon be at the UTC Shopping Center, and I counted the days until I could taste another cupcake. Today I made it to "Sprinkles" and finally got to taste a Black and White Cupcake like the one I had in Dallas, TX. ***Spoiler Alert- The Owner must have left the recipe behind when packing for the move to Sarasota Fl. These were, I kid you not, the absolute WORST cupcake I have ever eaten. We bought a total of 4,- 2 Black and Whites, 1Carrot Cake, and 1 Vanilla. We rushed the cakes home to savor the flavors without the rush. The family sat around the table, poured cups of coffee and tea, and then gathered around the box of goodies for the big reveal. We each grabbed our flavor and carefully unwrapped the cakes. I took the first bite and watched as the crumbs of the dry cake poured down my shirt and on the table like cookie crumbs. I was in shock, at first thinking something had gone wrong, but soon realizing by the look of the others at the table we had just discovered something had changed. We are crushed! The Carrot Cake had dry icing that was cracked, the Vanilla was dry like sand with icing that had a chemical after taste, and finally the other Black and White reported dry dry dry. Upset and disappointed at wasting $20.00, we threw the remainders of the cakes in the trash. DO NOT waste your money on these. The Owner needs to figure out what is wrong with the recipes because we the consumers remember what it was like when they were delicious. Cupcakes should not taste like chemicals and artificial additives that obviously are being used and have ruined a beautiful simple cupcake. Heartbroken in Sarasota. read more

8/13/24: This was my first time going to Sprinkles and unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. I got their "vanilla milk chocolate" cupcake and it did NOT taste fresh. ONE cupcake is $4.95, and (for reference) it's the same size as the cupcakes at Publix. I would very much rather buy the Publix 6-count cupcakes for $5.99, than ever purchase a cupcake from Sprinkles. Initially, I tried to get one of their 'mini cupcakes' to just try them first, but they only sell them in a pre-packaged 3-pack and one of them was red velvet which I've become allergic to in recent years, so that didn't work out either. The location itself was clean, small on the inside with no seating, but there is seating outside. The staff were nice and helpful. Pricing for the cupcakes and their other items is way too high in my opinion. Overall, I don't see myself going here in the future. read more

Sprinkles is the "original" cupcake bakery but this cupcake I just had was literally the worst cupcake I have ever had in my life. The frosting tasted old, like it was sitting in the garage refrigerator for a week. Not a great impression. At $5 a pop, not sure I'm going to give them another shot. Sprinkles has been a decade plus addiction for me since my days in LA. Was so beyond thrilled they came to Sarasota. Have been indulging weekly.
