    More meats!
    Lisa Q.

I'm so glad I found this meat shop on Yelp! I was looking for some thinly sliced beef for shabu/hot pot and the local Asian grocery store selection was very, very sad looking. I quickly used yelped and stumbled upon Wa Prime Meat Market. There's a huge selection of top quality meat here. I picked up about a pound each of Austrian wagyu brisket, prime chuck and prime brisket shabu meat. The person working at the counter was very warm and helpful! I'm looking forward to coming back to try all the different cuts they have.

Steak selection and quality is on point! I am so happy that I found this place! Leave your number if you're looking for some good Picanha. They will call you back once it's available. Their wagyu selection is mixed from Australia to Japan, they got it all. Impeccable service as well and nice clean spot! Can't wait to get another A+++ steak!

Love it. I wanted Australian Waygu or SNF Reserve (SNF signature is not that great to me) strip. A-5 is just too rich. They had the Australian Waygu rib eye and cut me the end back piece near the loin. I prefer the strip. An Australian Waygu sirloin would probably be very good. Perfect amount of that rich fat. They are super nice and clean. You can see everything. It is very clean and comfortable. They have lots of good looking pork.

Best steak in the area. Will definitely come back to try all the other cut! The shop is very clean open space which they cut and package in front of you. They have even give out roses on V day.

This will be based on the 2 types of meat I got which were wagyu short rib and their prime ribeye, (I think it was) sliced for hotpot/shabu shabu. I'm impressed. The wagyu cooked so fast and it's quite comparable to the quality they serve at high-end steakhouses. And the ribeye makes eating shabu shabu at home as good as eating out! The taste and tenderness of the meat are well worth all the work put in to preparing and cleaning up.

Cowboy cut prime ribeye, absolutely perfect steak.

She was very informative about the different cuts of meat and told me the Picanha actually can be more tender than the sirloin.

It's not "fake" American wagyu that's barely prime grade either--the marbling is a perfect balance between the richness of Australian/Japanese wagyus and a regular prime. The staff here are generally friendly and very helpful, and work hard to get you what you want. The only issue I've had over the years was one of the older guys behind the counter charging us for something much more expensive than what we actually asked for, and we had to drive all the way back to get a refund. Not sure what the deal was since we ran into him when getting the refund and he seemed annoyed rather than apologetic lol. But! Aside from that, everyone's great. When they're busy, grab a number from the corner and they'll call. There's a great selection in the case of just about every type of meat including fresh seafood. Bought a slab of Icelandic cod today as well because it looked so nice. If you order a lot, they'll ring you up in the back, otherwise they'll let you bring it to the front checkout to pay.

They're quick to pack up your order and even gave me a small bundle of cilantro as a gift. Maybe it's because I came later in the day or because we bought a good amount. We tried the normal beef, premium beef, lean beef, and premium beef tongue. I would say the normal beef a bit too fatty for my liking, but that's why they offer the lean option. The premium beef is between the lean and normal beef in terms of fat to meat ratio. It's well marbled. They ran out of normal beef tongue so we had to get the premium. Pricey but delicious and definitely our favorite. Although I've never had bad beef tongue before. Overall, everything was fresh, containers were labeled, and service was quick. Prices are fair as it is still a lot more economical than going to a restaurant. They take credit card with a minimum purchase. Parking is available and shared among all the shops in the plaza.

I had a wonderful phone conversation with the owner Ben who personally took my order. We agreed upon a date and time two weeks out since I was going to be out of town for the 4th of July week. They called while I was out of town to confirm the date and time (between 10-11 am) which was great! When I arrived to the store with my son around 11:15 because of the heavy traffic on 91W I went to the counter and was told by a young female that I needed to go to the pay counter. She was curt and not helpful. There was only three people ahead of me so no problem. But the elder gentleman in front of me, who was being helped by the young man who would eventually help me, took an exceptionally long time with his order. I'm just here to pay and pick up. No problem, I'll be patient and keep waiting. Two other costumers are helped by the female counter person and finally the elder customer leaves with his order and I'm next. The young male counter person then waits for me to initiate the conversation and doesn't greet me with a smile or hello or how can I help. I brush it off. I tell him I'm here to pick up my order, a whole pig and give him my last name. He fumbles around a few seconds and then asks how to spell my name and eventually finds my ticket order and asks what time. The time is written at the top of the ticket he failed to notice. I pay for the order. He mutters someone will be out with my order and disappears. No thank you, no attentiveness like he gave the older gentleman in front of me. Again, I've been in my car with my son for over two hours from San Diego in traffic and this fella couldn't give me five minutes of courtesy. I'm waiting, and waiting and waiting while others eventually come into the store and are being helped and leaving. The older female worker at the pay counter is still there helping customers while the younger female at the deli counter is now apparently on a break and making herself lunch. She stops momentarily when a customer comes in for deli service. I'm still waiting by the counter to make sure I'm at least acknowledged but I don't see the young male counter worker who apparently left for lunch since it's now noon. The older female worker can probably see on my face that I'm not happy and says to me he's working on my order. He? Who's he? I am just here to pay and pick order between 10-11. How much time and trouble could it be to put this order together which was made two weeks prior? A different gentlemen finally arrives with three boxes and two large paper bags that comprise my order. On the way out the older female worker says goodbye and was very courteous. At this point I'm pretty upset because this is not a large haul and this order could've easily been second and not 45 minutes! I arrive home after the two hour drive back home to SD and looking forward to the meat, especially the sausages and putting it into the freezer which I cleared out in preparation for the meat. My older son is home to help. As we are sorting and placing the meat I notice that there are no sausages. It's just sausage meat but no links. I guess it's my fault for assuming and not specifying sausage links on at peat some of the order. It was a huge letdown. I had array went out to purchase rolls and buns for a bbq this weekend and to have friends and family over. Oh well. You live and you learn. At least the bacon was great.
