More meats!
Lisa Q.

I'm so glad I found this meat shop on Yelp! I was looking for some thinly sliced beef for shabu/hot pot and the local Asian grocery store selection was very, very sad looking. I quickly used yelped and stumbled upon Wa Prime Meat Market. There's a huge selection of top quality meat here. I picked up about a pound each of Austrian wagyu brisket, prime chuck and prime brisket shabu meat. The person working at the counter was very warm and helpful! I'm looking forward to coming back to try all the different cuts they have.

Steak selection and quality is on point! I am so happy that I found this place! Leave your number if you're looking for some good Picanha. They will call you back once it's available. Their wagyu selection is mixed from Australia to Japan, they got it all. Impeccable service as well and nice clean spot! Can't wait to get another A+++ steak!

Love it. I wanted Australian Waygu or SNF Reserve (SNF signature is not that great to me) strip. A-5 is just too rich. They had the Australian Waygu rib eye and cut me the end back piece near the loin. I prefer the strip. An Australian Waygu sirloin would probably be very good. Perfect amount of that rich fat. They are super nice and clean. You can see everything. It is very clean and comfortable. They have lots of good looking pork.

Best steak in the area. Will definitely come back to try all the other cut! The shop is very clean open space which they cut and package in front of you. They have even give out roses on V day.

This will be based on the 2 types of meat I got which were wagyu short rib and their prime ribeye, (I think it was) sliced for hotpot/shabu shabu. I'm impressed. The wagyu cooked so fast and it's quite comparable to the quality they serve at high-end steakhouses. And the ribeye makes eating shabu shabu at home as good as eating out! The taste and tenderness of the meat are well worth all the work put in to preparing and cleaning up.

Cowboy cut prime ribeye, absolutely perfect steak.

Average place the idea was good but the selection was a bit minimal. I hope this place continues to bring a wider selection

She was very informative about the different cuts of meat and told me the Picanha actually can be more tender than the sirloin.

Just keep in mind that everything is high quality & with high quality means you are spending extra cash money $$$. This lowkey spot is facing the north bound side of las tunas close to a dominoes pizza. In between Ardmore Dr & Santa Anita St. Across from a hospital(San Gabriel Medical Center) Right next to Dumplings To Go[They have good dumplings there too]. Parking should be easy on Las Tunas but if it looks packed then you can easily go to the back between Ardmore dr & Santa Anita behind dominos and walk around to their only entrance in the front. Once inside on your right you will see all the different choices of food from cuts like A5 Japanese Wagyu to lamb skewers. They also have tofu, mushrooms, condiments and other hotpot essentials. They accept both cash and card inside. No restrooms. Just buy what you like and go. All of their quality meats are your average tastiness; food tastes better than your regular grocery stores. During summer you can find their Summer Skewer Special only on Fridays Saturdays & Sundays in the back. You go in, pick the raw skewers you want from their huge selection, and they pack everything fresh for you. They've got a wide variety of meats and marinades, so it's easy to mix and match and try different flavors in one meal. Everything looks fresh and well seasoned, and once you get it on the grill it gives you that legit street BBQ skewer feel at home. It's perfect for gatherings or a weekend cookout because all the hard work is already done for you. The only downside is the price. It adds up pretty quickly, especially when you start grabbing multiple skewers because there are so many good options. Definitely more of a special occasion or group meal type of place rather than an everyday buy. Still, for the quality, convenience, and the variety they offer, it's a really fun and unique spot when you're craving skewers and want something different from the usual.

It's not "fake" American wagyu that's barely prime grade either--the marbling is a perfect balance between the richness of Australian/Japanese wagyus and a regular prime. The staff here are generally friendly and very helpful, and work hard to get you what you want. The only issue I've had over the years was one of the older guys behind the counter charging us for something much more expensive than what we actually asked for, and we had to drive all the way back to get a refund. Not sure what the deal was since we ran into him when getting the refund and he seemed annoyed rather than apologetic lol. But! Aside from that, everyone's great. When they're busy, grab a number from the corner and they'll call. There's a great selection in the case of just about every type of meat including fresh seafood. Bought a slab of Icelandic cod today as well because it looked so nice. If you order a lot, they'll ring you up in the back, otherwise they'll let you bring it to the front checkout to pay.

Shoppers Beware: While this meat market may appeal to some,…read moremy parents shop here often...our experience was very disappointing. We were helped by the same employee many other reviewers have mentioned, and her customer service was rude and unprofessional. Because of this, my family will not be returning. We also noticed several concerning issues, including possible fire hazards, sanitation problems, and accessibility barriers that may not meet ADA standards. We hope the City of Rosemead takes a closer look to ensure the safety of customers. Success here will require a major shift: better treatment of employees and a complete overhaul of the current service standards. As it stands, service seems reserved only for the owners not customers.

I truly hope the woman at the front counter and the owners of this business read this someday,…read morebecause what happens in this store is more than "bad customer service." It is a complete failure of humanity, empathy, and basic respect. Every single time customers walk into this store, they are met with the same cold, dismissive, bitter attitude from the woman working the front. She talks down to people. She ignores questions. She refuses to help. She treats customers the very people keeping this business alive like they are beneath her. The attitude is so nasty and so unnecessary that you walk out feeling smaller than when you walked in. What's even worse is that this behavior doesn't stop with younger customers it is directed at elders, disabled people, and anyone who needs a little extra assistance. I've seen older customers struggle to walk, struggle to use a cart or walker, struggle to simply move through the store because the aisles are so tight that two people cannot even pass each other at the same time. And instead of showing compassion, she tells them, "Go find it yourself." No sympathy. No patience. No basic human kindness. The store itself reflects that same lack of care: * Aisles so cramped it's unsafe, especially for those with disabilities or mobility issues. * Flies around the meat area. * Food-handling that mixes raw meat with cooked foods. * Parking that is chaotic and miserable. * A store layout that makes customers feel unwelcome from the moment they enter. None of these are small issues. They are signs of a place that has stopped caring. And to the woman at the front: if you ever come across this review, I hope you truly take a moment to reflect. Look at the way you speak to people. Look at the way you dismiss elders and those who are struggling. Look at the way your attitude makes people feel unwanted, unwelcome, and disrespected. This review is not written out of anger it is written so that maybe, just maybe, you will take a step back and realize that the world does not revolve around you. Customer service is not about being perfect, but it IS about treating people with dignity, decency, and empathy. Those cost you nothing. Right now, every corner of this store from the cramped aisles to the cold attitude at the front shows a complete lack of compassion. If zero stars were an option, this place would get exactly that. Not because people expect perfection, but because customers deserve at least a little humanity.

When you enter the store, they will default to speaking to you in mandarin, but you can ask them to speak English. They're quick to pack up your order and even gave me a small bundle of cilantro as a gift. Maybe it's because I came later in the day or because we bought a good amount. We tried the normal beef, premium beef, lean beef, and premium beef tongue. I would say the normal beef a bit too fatty for my liking, but that's why they offer the lean option. The premium beef is between the lean and normal beef in terms of fat to meat ratio. It's well marbled. They ran out of normal beef tongue so we had to get the premium. Pricey but delicious and definitely our favorite. Although I've never had bad beef tongue before. Overall, everything was fresh, containers were labeled, and service was quick. Prices are fair as it is still a lot more economical than going to a restaurant. They take credit card with a minimum purchase. Parking is available and shared among all the shops in the plaza.
