Ordered the turkey and bacon spud, got this compressed salty mystery meat instead. Turkey on menu is advertised as sliced.

Ordered the turkey and bacon spud, got this diced, compressed, salty mystery meat instead. Turkey on menu is advertised as sliced! I suppose service was fast since they forgot to add the real sliced turkey.

    Side salad. Nice bacon crumbles.

This is a tiny space in a strip mall with hard to see signage. Be careful or you will miss it! Started with a side salad. Iceberg lettuce, but abundant bacon crumbles which were good. Croutons and dressing good as well. Fairly large but over $5? Quesadilla spud large with chicken, onions, Bell peppers, butter and sour cream. Piping hot and a really solid meal. Unlike one prior reviewer, I found the sweet tea fine but not spectacular. Steady stream of to-go orders indicate I am not alone in liking the food. Now the price, including a 15%tip, was $26! Yikes. If I could have made 2 meals out of it that would have helped justify the cost but it wasn't THAT big. Minus a star for value. Clean place, helpful server and moderately numerous parking spots in the tiny Mall's lot. Right by Texas State campus.

This place is tiigghhht. Lol and as that I mean it was small inside. It started to get a little busy and we could all barely move around eachother when leaving. girl cashier was not very helpful or nice. Noticed she was nice and patient with others though.. potato was well cooked and tasted good with the hot wing in it. The burger had good flavor to it and fries were good . Mac and cheese was delicious! I recommend this place for lunch or dinner and to take to go! I do think it will be a little pricey as well.. they charge separately for pretty much everything.

The baked potato are really good. They are Texas sized. They have a variety of baked potatoes, that will fill your appetite. Cashier made great recommendations. I ordered the chicken fried chicken baked potato. It came loaded with gravy, butter and Texas toast. The bread was toasted to perfection and crispy with lots of lots of butter. My wife ordered the hot wing ranch spud with homemade ranch. She said it was delicious, hot and spicy! Our child got the cheese ranch spud loaded with shredded cheddar cheese. With 3 drinks it was $35 with tax.

    Chili pie spud

Best place ever. I will definitely be back a lot . I got the chili pie spud and it was so good. Highly recommend . So yummy and the chili is amazing. Everyone should eat here once

It was light and tasty, with the veggies balancing the rich depth of the black bean falafel and avocado. The veggies all blended well, with no one taste overpowering the other. Service was likewise fast and friendly. Highly recommend the Vegan Bowl not just as a vegetarian option, but as a fantastic meal in its own right.

It was clean, industrial/minimal setting, the staff friendly and the layout very easy for my aging ma to build her own bowl on the fly. She'd been very excited checking online earlier but neglected to mark down any specific order; she loved that everything was listed right at the topping stations. Randomly selected El Hippie which proved my least favorite so far, but enjoyed the second half much more after several hours (which intrigues me, I'll have to try it again with sauces on the side). I plan to eat my way through the entire menu eventually. El Cubano is still my reigning favorite. What you can't get by delivery--through the Yelp link, anyway--is their agua fresca. Tried pineapple cucumber, my usual flavor, which was good. Three glasses good. There were two other flavors available which have unfortunately slipped my mind. During our visit students, young families, and delivery drivers came and went. Everything went smoothly, everyone seemed pleased. Grabbed a brown butter and sea salt krispie bar for later and another to send home to ma's husband. They're big enough to share with a friend if you ARE behaving, and a safely indulgent size if you are not (I haven't shared either of mine so far, just downed it with a large glass of milk and a big smile). Was surprised to find out this establishment is NOT a chain/franchise. There are a lot of bowl/salad places about these days rather like frozen yogurt in the 90s, but this one has pleased us consistently and absolutely impressed my ma so I truly hope they do well.

The meat is seasoned and hits the spot every time - it doesn't matter what meat you get because it is all great! Tons of variation on their menu. I get the bowls with rice and lettuce a plus every topping under the sun and garlic/harissa sauce. Chicken is great, beef is great, and I could eat their falafel all day. I love getting the bowls with their various pickled veggies for the contrast in tastes. Dolma is delicious, the kebabs are delicious, the fries loaded with deliciousness are in fact delicious, and the prices for all dishes are very reasonable. Food can take a little longer, but only because the food is cooked fresh to order and not sitting in a metal container overcooking. Their pitas are stuffed to a brim with toppings and meat, and I could eat their hummus all day every day. Every time we come to San Marcos I have to try to force myself to try something new - it's hard, but we always find ourselves back at Halal Project happily full every time.

The veggies were, as always, beautiful and fresh. Halfway through I did remark to Mr R that Halal Project definitely has more flavor than Taziki, and he agreed. It did take a little longer than expected (mostly noticeable bc it's a day we had a plane to catch) but not outrageous and the results were indisputably worth it. Love to whoever wrapped these gyros sturdily enough to make eating them in the car NOT a complete disaster; we will continue to enjoy this local delight.

It's got a cool modern vibe going and TVs running sports. Fried chicken and burgers are the focus with some interesting menu items. Pies to round off dessert. I really loved my 1/4 chicken korean style (spicy, gochujung). I was a bit worried when the chicken came out quick but it was on point. On the sides front, the broccoli salad was stellar. Finally the key lime pie was solid. I will definitely be back for another bite next time I'm in town.

The mixed drinks I was told were 'very very strong', but for someone who doesn't drink very much I did not find them that way. First ordered the Szechuan fries, which were OK not great. There was nothing really about them that wanted me to keep on eating them. The flavor just wasn't there. I specifically went to this restaurant for the first time for the kimchi fried chicken sandwich. It was very tasty and I really enjoyed it. There could've been more kimchi on it. I think it's worth a try. Parking is not fun. Important to note that I am not only a very experienced cook, but I have eaten at restaurants all around the world and in the US.
