The only thing I have ever had here were their cronuts ($3.50 each) and the free cream puffs so this review is only for those. Cronut was bomb! I've tried the regular cream, chocolate, and strawberry cronuts. I prefer the strawberry inside; it creates a good balance. There's a lot of cream in the cronuts (inside and on top) so I remove the cream on top. It tasted much better that way!! Yum!! Better go early if you want one because they told me they only make a tray of cronuts a day. I got lucky and was able to get some on a Saturday around 3 pm. FYI, if they only have the cream one left and you want to add some topping, they will do it for you. I added strawberry to mine when they were out. They will probably fill the plain ones if they still have cream left as well. The free cream puffs they gave us with the cronuts aren't that great. They're really light (and not so fluffy) and the filling is just okay. I probably wouldn't pay for them lol. read more

Only gripe of this location is that it closes at 5pm. Was normally accustomed to the the Topanga Canyon & Roscoe location closing till night. This was my first time trying Spudnuts and overall, I was impressed. The service was friendly and fast. The kind lady helping me made sure not to cram the donuts in on top of each other which I appreciated. They had a classic variety of donuts; I left with glazed, old fashioned, chocolate, sprinkles, coconut and cinnamon raised. 18 donuts set me back about $20, which seemed a little high, but worth it. Okay, I've got to admit that I came here for the name. I mean, that's a funny name for donut shop and somehow is perfect for what this place is. It's quirky, it's a little weird, and they have donuts. Some pretty good ones. I wish I could say that my visit here was life changing and that I found the newest and best and most significant donut shop in Northridge or all of the San Fernando Valley, but that's not what happened. I've lived in the Granada Hills/Northridge area for over 25 years and seen, but never tried Spudnuts Donuts. Today, faced with limited choices where to grab a quick bite we could eat in the car, my husband (a donut fan) suggested we try Spudnuts. Unfortunately, he forgot his mask. Since we'd never been there, I wanted to go together rather than sharing a mask while one waited in the car. I went in and asked if they had a mask we could use. The attendant, wearing the exact same mask I bought at Costco for 32 cents, offered me one for $2! Apparently, that was more profitable than selling a dozen donuts and a breakfast burrito (my planned order) and possible return customer. Sudbury and dunkin are 1 mile apart. Go to Sudbury for fresher and tastier treats. After 1 pm they sell out the remaining donuts at 6 for $ 5.00 or 10 for ten dolliars. Jelly donuts and cinnamon twists are especially good. read more

Sooo I have been taking a liking for donuts recently and have been trying different places. This place was definitely on my list to try, I came here this morning and I was definitely pleased. Spudnuts Donuts is located on Reseda and Devonshire. I walked in and was greeted by a very friendly young man with glasses, he was very pleasant and helpful. I asked him about the different donuts they have to offer and what was their best seller. He mentioned that their Doughssants aka Cronuts was one of their popular items. They had a few flavors out today, they had their Strawberry and creme, Cookies & Cream, and another one Bacon and Creme I think. I had to try their Strawberry and Creme one. It was $3.50 for one of these bad boys, the guy asked me if it was my 1st time and I told him it was he was so sweet he even gave me a complimentary cream puff which was really nice of him. I didn't want to get anything else since this Doughssant was enough for me, their minimum for debit cards is $10.00 or they charge a $.50cent charge, unfortunately I didn't have any cash on me and I ended up having to pay $0.50 cents so it cost me $4.00. UGHHH he was sweet and whispered sorry but ehh not his fault but definitely was not happy that I had to pay an extra $.50 cents. So I got home and tried this massive doughssant it was actually heavy and had sooo much cream inside, I took one bite and it was deliciousss. I couldn't dare to eat more without taking out all that cream it was too much actually I would feel so guilty eating it with all that cream. I ended up scraping off most of the cream =( and I put my strawberries back in and ate it. It was pretty good, the strawberries weren't that sweet they were kinda tarty but the doughssant was really good, soft, crispy and sweet. Would I go back, Yes absolutely but would I get another one of these ehhhh it's just too much for me, I couldn't bare to eat all that cream. I saw on their website that they offer mini ones for events maybe I would eat a mini one. Read about Spudnuts on Yelp. The fact their donuts are made with potato flour intrigued me. I made visits to this location and to the branch in Canoga Park. This branch in Northridge is located in a strip mall close to Bank of America. Looks nice from the outside. Inside there are a couple of chairs and tables. Was not crowded during my time here. Staff was fast and efficient. Shop was clean. Noticed that their donut prices are lower than the Canoga Park location. Wondered if the donuts would taste as good. I chose my two favorite donuts. Apple Fritter and Custard Filled Chocolate donuts are the ones I choose 90% of the time when trying a donut shop for my first visit. The Custard Filled Chocolate donut tasted just as good as the other branch (just cheaper). I could not taste the potato flour difference. Did like the fact that it was not greasy or oily, though. (4 stars) The Apple Fritter was okay. Tasted like an ordinary average fritter to me that one buys at any mom and pop shop. Did not like the fact that I found a hair sticking out of the apple fritter right before I was to take my last bite!!! If I lived in the neighborhood, I would have driven back to complain. Oh well. If you remember we were all 5 stars for the Sidecar Donut shop until they got too big for their ow good, for us to have drive all the over there because no one would answer their phone! We have put them on "ICE" for now! Not only did Spudnuts Donuts out do Sidecar with the taste they were extra nice and well organized for their own good. NOw the prices are amazing at Spudnuts Donuts, you are getting not a donut covered in maple and bacon your getting a "CRONUT"! If you do not know what is a Cronut it started out in NY a few years ago, they were only making 300 a day you could only buy 5 limit. Then people would buy the limit and sell them on Ebay for up to if not more $25.00, stupid hype again! I have had many Cronuts but the Cronuts at Spudnuts Donuts suppasses my expectations! This is my favorite spudnut donut restaurant. Great donuts and awesome sandwiches. The employees are fantastically warm and friendly especially Millie, Laura, Dara and Giselle. Many of the frequent customers at the Shop, such as Mel and Tino, rave about the donuts, sandwiches and personal service they receive from the above employees. These guys visit the spudnut shop on Reseda daily. Talk about loyalty, Mel and Tino epitomizes the type of customer loyalty that exists at the Shop. The COFFEE is EXCELLENT HERE!! Farmers Brothers brand coffee, HELLO!!!!! Sure, you can do a drive thru at other places and get okay coffee, but Spudnuts has EXCELLENT COFFEE and EXCELLENT PRICES on everything....extra large coffee $1.75, can't be beat and that's mixing the flavored and regular coffee, yummy!!!! Place is clean. I ordered a Cheeseburger combo with a drink. It was just a "5.5" out of 10. Fries were good, soda was out of a can so you really can't mess that up but the cheeseburger was "BLAH". No flavor on the burger, did not get a choice of cheese they just assumed I liked white cheese (Not) and they used Romaine for the lettuce and I got a few pieces of the hard core lettuce meaning (white part & hard). Customer service was just okay after me. An African American woman came in to place an order and both employees did not greet her right away as I was greeted. One kept stocking the fridge while the other was cleaning the glass were the donuts were. She took notice and said hello and went back to cleaning and made the lady wait until she was done. I always come here saying I'm only going to get one donut. Then I walk in and all self-control melts off. I've tried almost all the different classic glazed donuts (chocolate, nuts, sprinkles) you name it, the Cinnamon roll one (forgive my lack of knowledge on the official names), Banana Nut muffin, Blueberry muffin, Raisin muffin, the sugar-coated ones, and donut holes. What I LOVE about these donuts is that there is actually substance in every single bite. Krispy Kreme and a lot of other signature donuts really just feels like air filled pastries - they might be fluffy, but you take one bite and the force of the bite is enough to deflate them into a minuscule piece of fried flour. Spudnuts is so different guys. Putting pressure on the donut will not completely deflate it. The glaze will not crumble into tiny pieces. Every bite will be chewy, fluffy, doughy and have the perfect amount of crunch and sweetness. The crust of all the donuts will be perfect. The donuts are quite good. Come early and don't just get one, get multiple. I have yet to try the infamous Apple Fritter. It will be the next thing I buy when I'm back. read more
