My husband and I stopped in one afternoon for boba. We got the blended taro and the blended Vietnamese coffee. They were both solid drinks - especially the Vietnamese coffee! I really enjoyed the viet coffee as it had a good coffee taste and was not overly sweet, bitter or burnt tasting. I didn't interact much with staff as you order from kiosks. The store is like your typical boba shop- a few chairs and tables but nothing special about the decor. It looks like they have rice plates on the menu but I didn't try any of those.

Another mango green tea for me today with popcorn chicken, and my go to fish cakes and it hits everytime. So consistent with their flavors. Love their service and love their drinks and food. Fast service as always and the place is always clean, and have good music always. Everytime i get this, it never misses.

My boyfriend really loves this spot for boba, and he took me here to give it a try! It did not disappoint at all! We came sort of late in the evening and it was not busy at all! Staff were very welcoming and service was pretty quick. Our drinks were delicious and for a very decent price! Definitely will be coming back again! The boba also felt fresh and wasn't hard or tough, so they were made perfectly! Theres plenty of indoor seating as well!

My absolute favorite boba spot in Northridge! The owner is so sweet and the creative drinks are delicious. It's a great atmosphere for studying. Don't miss out on the basil snacks and sauces--they are flavor highlights!

Drinks- Hakkaido milk tea with sea salt cream and Guava green tea. Both drinks are good and taste is as expected. It is my first time here and will come back to try other teas as well. Service- even though they are busy, my drinks come out quick; so thank you for that. Ambiance- this is a cute little boba shop in Northridge area. I saw some customers playing games on TV. Fun boba shop to hang out with friends and have sweet drinks while chatting. I will definitely come back to this and recommend to others to try their bobas.

I was here about a week ago and it was closed! Sign outside said it was closed for remodeling and would be re-opening Jan 2. Came in Jan 2, but really a grand re opening because the place looked very similar. Menu was updated but I prefer pictures instead of words. Biggest update was the All electronic version order yourself kiosk albeit the ordering process was a bit challenging at first we got the hang of it after some help from the friendly staff! Pistachio smoothie here is amazing and now they have the sugar reducing options.

A local favorite in this shopping plaza that one of my friends suggested. A wide variety of drinks to choose from. I ended up going with the peach slushy and added boba. Good flavor and not overly sweet, refreshing! My friend grabbed the Thai tea float it has ice cream in it and she added some boba. Service was great, drinks came out quickly. Inside only seating, a few tables inside.

TLDR: Welcoming staff, great drinks, good time. Light music for working or chitchat, a perfect afterschool meetup or afternoon snack can be had here. - - - - -- Oh, Tea 'n Tea, how I've heard about this place for a while with it bookmarked for over a year and finally decided to finally step foot inside! Parking was easy in this big plaza, and the staff member who works the front is super friendly, welcoming, and informative with all drinks. Despite struggling over three drinks, I settled on their Avocado Snow Bubble with boba, half condensed and no syrup - no sweet tooth, don't come at me! (Usually I'm a 0-25% sugar kinda guy) I have to admit for what it is, it's already pretty sweet at 50%, might have to stick to 25% on follow-up visits. Other than that, the avocado milk blend was chef's kiss - perfection. In addition to bringing back the high school nostalgia of boba + snack vibes at a chill cafe, there's Wi-Fi, board games, and even a Nintendo Switch to play Super Smash Bros. My favorite is their Pokemon battle screen art amongst a variety of other displays. And of course, I have to drop a comment as a 626 Native: This is probably the closest place to "good boba" in this area of town.

    |[ c o o l ]| Cool local spot that caters to people who need a study or gaming spot!! They have a good variety of drinks and snacks and parking (my ideal study spot). In fact, I've studied here in the past and loved it -- it's just a bit out of my way but I def recommend it if you need decent boba and somewhere to hangout/chill for a min. |[ I b e e n d r a n k ' n ]| I got the regular boba (sugarfree) and it wasn't bad 3.8/5. It's not overly watered down, the size is just right for me aka not super small while claiming to be 'regular' lol and for that I love them. We also tried the mango yogurt frost and it was really good-- gave me dole whip vibes. Half sweet was enough sweet imo. 4/5. |[ I b e e n s n a c k ' n ]| We tried the fried fish cakes snack and it was interesting and fun to eat 3.5/5. Might try some other snacks here when I come back. |[ l u r v e ]| They got a couple spots and a switch here so you can hash it out on smash bros with strangers! lol overall 3.85 stars rounded up because service was super friendly and helpful. this place was fine. i tried the ube latte and it was pretty plain, just tasted like milk with some sugar in it, i couldn't taste any ube flavor :( which was surprising bc it was a vibrant purple color. nice place to study, the staff was very helpful. i would like to go back and try something else !

The cafe is 2 floors with lots of seating, both upstairs and downstairs. Definitely a great spot to study, get some work done, or catch up with friends. I ordered the Matcha Earl Grey Latte and the Popcorn Chicken. My drink came out pretty fast, while the popcorn chicken took around 10 minutes. I loved the latte! The earl grey flavor was strong, so it was definitely on the sweeter side. The chicken was definitely different from the Taiwanese-style popcorn chicken I was expecting. The texture was more like mini chicken tenders or nuggets than the usual crispy, popcorn chicken. The chicken itself was juicy and had less breading. Not bad at all, just different from what I expected. Pricing is also not bad, especially for the portions. I parked in the back lot, but there's also free street parking. Overall, I really liked the space and would definitely come back to try more of their drinks!

Do not order their seasonal drink item Passionfruit mint lemonade, no lemon juice, no mint Nothing citrusy, not even passion fruit purée, really disappointed. This review is long overdue…read more I've been a House Roots regular since they opened their SFV shop many years ago and frequent the bakery as well. This location is the newest (only about a year or so?) of the three. Each store has a similar and yet distinct style/focus. This shop is located on the ground level of an apartment/leasing space, so if you're not looking for it, it can be missed/mistaken. Parking at first glance also seems difficult but don't worry, there's plenty in the parking garage behind the shop/ below the apartment building. The shop itself is beautiful! Compared to the other two locations, this location is most spacious; There's outdoor seating as well and indoor seating. It's pretty family friendly and equally accommodating to students/working professionals who need a place to do some work. There's a grab and go section, for those who need a quick bite as well as some food items- pastries and burritos. Overall, the environment is pretty relaxed and chill. As far as drinks go, I've tried several- everything from the drip, pour overs, espresso shots, americanos, sweet lattes, and pictured, both matcha and einspanner dreams from the last time I came with my husband and parents. Pricing is fair but most importantly, all their drinks are good! The espresso is good consistently which in turn makes all their coffee drinks delicious. All the speciality drinks are not overly sweet and well balanced, unless requested. Specifically from the last visit, the vanilla cream on top of the einspanner/matcha dreams were to die for. My husband, who isn't a coffee drinker also mentioned how good the matcha was, even with almond milk (he's lactose). If you want to venture out/explore something out of the usual drip or americano, I recommend the einspanner or matcha dream drinks! Besides the good coffee, all the Houseroots locations are set apart by their hospitality, and this shop is unparalleled. Every time I've come to grab a cup on my way to visit my parents or for an afternoon pick me up, all the baristas have been welcoming and warm. Northridge is always a treat, can't wait to come back when in the area!

One thing to note: they open late--12:30 PM. Parking was easy, and there's a decent amount of seating inside. I happened to be the first customer of the day. Don't expect the warm, smiley Filipino hospitality right away--just head straight to the counter and place your order on the iPad. As for the halo-halo, it's definitely not your traditional version. It wasn't bad by any means, but it's quite different from the halo-halo I grew up with and the ones I enjoy whenever I visit Manila. If you're looking for a modern take on the classic dessert, you may appreciate it more than I did. Prices are pretty standard for Los Angeles, and they accept Apple Pay, which is always a plus.
