This store has some organic wines!! I hope they will have an organic box wine or two-- actually a couple organic selections in every category would be great. The ponytail clerk is friendly, kind and very helpful. Last time I was there he helped me select a tequila and then pointed out an Excellent organic margarita mix. The owner is also friendly and helpful, following up with a special order I made. Prices are comparable to the other Estes liquor stores. It is right by the lovely Country Supermarket. Guy with the beard went out of his way to give us a condescending lecture on how Estes Park is so close to the sun that it's easier to get a sunburn here. We stopped in since we were nearby. The prices seemed a bit high and I suspect since they are conveniently located they can do that. Due to the size they had a limited selection of beers and wine. Standing in front of the coolers for a bit while my wife wandered around the wine selection we were never asked if we needed help. I guess the assumption is you are a local and know what you want or if a tourist will buy something anyway. We did the latter and haven't been back since. They serve a purpose in the area so I hope the best for them but if you have time and want more selection look around the area. read more

I think people need to understand that they're in the mountains of Colorado, not the Napa Trail in California. The selection is on point for what you'd expect to find in a setting like this. Cracking jokes with the manager on duty was a great way to find out what he recommended and hear stories of one star reviewers. Later when the snow came and my crappy rental car would climb the hill across the street, he came out, helped me find a spot I could park and not get towed over night. We were staying at the YMCA, west of the town. So this location was perfect for us to pick up a few items at the grocery store, then go to the liquor store next door. Travelers need to know that in Colorado, the beer in grocery stores is only 3.2 % by law. We only made that mistake once! The guy behind the counter pointed out some great Colorado beers. We liked Dale's Pale Ale, for one, Little Red Cap, for another, glad they were in cans not bottles. (Easier to put in our cooler) From the outside, the store looked small, but we found a great selection, and the price fair. We went back several times during our stay, my husband really enjoyed trying several local craft beers. read more

High prices, limited selection and rude customer service renders this store nearly worthless. Until our archaic 3.2 laws are taken off the books, I recommend stopping at a liquor store in Loveland before heading up to Estes. As a voter, you can take away the special protection these small, poorly managed liquor stores have by signing the petition sponsored by Colorado Consumers For Choice to get the removal of our 3.2 laws on the ballot. This will allow you to buy beer and wine at the grocery store and bypass rude liquor store operators. read more

So I stopped in here with my BF to get a couple things for our weekend stay. Good selection, can't speak about the price as I don't know the other prices in the area. But the guy working there was super rude! He acted like he was better than us because he was local to the area and we were tourists, saying that there was no difference between elk and tourists and that he didn't care about negative reviews because he had the coldest beer in town so people would shop in his store anyway. Yes, he bagged on tourists, while talking to us, actual tourists spending money in his store. Oh, and as to the prices, he said if they were high it was due to most people paying with credit cards...right after I used my debit card. Um, I never complained about the price, so your passive aggressive BS is unwelcome, thanks. Anyway, I'm sure the loss of my 30 bucks next time I'm here (whenever that may be) doesn't mean anything to him but I'll certainly never go there again, and neither should you. Shockingly overpriced. In comparison to a liquor store I happened to go into while waiting for take out food and to buy the ice I had previously forgotten, I compared prices and found the 1.75L Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum to be $9 cheaper elsewhere (37.99 vs. 28.99). No return policy We were looking for large bottle of Brendens Irish Cream for our large family gathering, and they only had a small one prices at $16.99. We stopped at a nearby pharmacy and found the large bottle for $23, and the small bottle there for $13.99. We bought the large one assuming we could return the other to Spur. Ten minutes later we tried to return it, , but they flatly said " we don't do returns". Our advice...you can save money and get much better service elsewhere! read more

We will not return here due to the rude clerks/manager. After barking at my kid for touching a six pack, she threatened to throw us out, call the cops, and suggested I was some sort of degenerate for taking my 10y/o to buy craft beer. Then Mr. Manager guy came out on he stoop to stare sternly in disdain/judgement. They could have politely explained that Colorado has archaic liquors laws about such things and we would have apologized with no issue. I don't think the same thing would have happened at Safeway. Beer selection is better than the small grocery store next door but customer service at the grocery store is far above what we received here. Passing through town with my girlfriends, and stopped for a bottle of wine. Didn't know what we'd like, so we asked the clerk behind the counter. He was so helpful, able to tell us which ones were sweet and dry, and even recommended a bottle. It was great! Next time I'm in town, I'll definitely be back! read more

Terrible selection. Rude service. I needed to buy a nice bottle of wine as a gift. I politely asked if they had any wine more expensive than $17 a bottle. The clerk rolled his eyes and said "you're in Estes Park, liquor store wine is as good as it gets." I asked "well where do all those people in those homes on the hill buy wine?" He laughed and said "not Estes Park, what you see is what you get." The other clerk was laughing. I left and went up the street to some place that said "discount liquor" The name wasn't encouraging but they did have a very small section for nice wine and I bought a bottle of Keegan 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Wasn't as nice a wine as I had hoped to buy but better than the overly abundant mouth wash offered by Spur 66 Liquor. The clerks were total d-bags and the booze was low-end and overpriced. read more

Pricing was fair for what we bought (red wine, beer) and convenient location. Make sure you go early in winter, they close at 7pm.

Lived here(Estes) for 9 years now and the review's are hard to believe. Sure sometimes the clerks are short tempered with folks. On there behalf I like to say that when you have to accommodate 3,000,000 demanding tourist a year would might get a little annoyed too. You( tourist) are guest in Estes act like adults and try getting to know the employee. All local residents are kind,humble folks who take pride in their work. Two guys that work there. One is a younger guy and the other is an older gentlemen. The younger guy is cocky and the older gentleman is rude. He won't even acknowledge you when you walk in the door and never asks you if he can help you find something. I will no longer step foot in that place. Shop elsewhere! read more
