We stopped by Poppy's on a weekday night for dinner because they had a good selection of salads, and that's what we were all in the mood for. We also wanted to sit outside along the water because the view was amazing. Unfortunately, that came at a cost. We were quoted 15-20 minutes for a table, so we agreed. However, we continued to watch people walking in and getting seated at inside tables right away. At the 45-minute mark, I went up to the host and asked just to be seated inside. Suddenly, a table was ready for us outside. Along with another family that checked in about 20-30 minutes after us. A manager swung by soon after we were seated and dropped off a plate of onion rings on both our tables for the long wait (although the other party's wait didn't even compare to ours). The onion rings were delicious, even though they didn't come with any sort of dipping sauce. Before getting the onion rings, we had already decided that we wanted the fried asparagus, so we still ordered them, too. It was a lot of fried food. LOL But soooo good. The salads come in a small or large bowl. Since we had so many appetizers, we all just ordered the small. I chose the Cobb Salad. It was amazing. And very, very filling for a "small" bowl. There were a lot of ingredients, which I appreciate in a salad. If I was hungry, I could definitely polish off a large bowl. In the end, sitting outside was a great experience, and the food was all excellent, but the 45-minute wait sucked.

Burger on gluten free bread and GF sweet potato fries

Three to four stars for sure because my family who had pizza really loved it and thought it was great. Three stars for my burger meal - it sadly wasn't anything special and seemed like a premade patty thrown on the grill rather than something more fresh. It was overcooked too (I had requested medium rare). I was really excited to be able to have their sweet potato fries as someone who eats gluten-free. Several (or maybe many) of them had some really burnt ends - I just personally wouldn't have let those out of the kitchen. The outside seating area looked fantastic. We ended up inside so we didn't have to wait as long, and it was fine. But loud/just lots of noise. One of those places you have to speak up a bit so the people at your table can hear you. I would probably come back again and give another dish a try, but I don't think it would be my first choice.

Outdoor patio is nice. Right next to the river.

The outdoor patio along the river is very nice to see. They allow dogs on the patio and we were very happy about that because we were camping nearby and didn't want to leave our dog at the campground. The servers and all of the staff were very kind and helpful. Our food came out relatively quickly and everything was really tasty and well done. We've been coming to ask Park for over 20 years, but I've never come to this restaurant and have been wanting to try it. We're happy we came.

Bacon avocado burger with onions rings

We visited Papi's Pizza & Grill in Estes Park and had a mixed experience that didn't quite justify the price. My bacon avocado burger was $19, and for that price I expected something a bit more memorable. Instead, it was a well‑done patty with a scoop of avocado on the side and no cheese--something I wasn't even asked about. Not awful, but definitely the most disappointing burger I've had at that price point. Didn't care much for the onion rings. My wife ordered the Mexican pizza, which turned out to be very different from what we imagined. The refried beans replaced the sauce, giving it more of a soft, sopa‑style feel. Creative idea, but not what we were hoping for. She did enjoy her wedge salad, and our daughter helped her finish it. My son had a cheese pizza and said it was "OK," which pretty much sums up the whole meal. With the total coming out to over $100 for four people, the value_for_money just wasn't there. Not the worst meal we've had, but not one we'd go out of our way to repeat.

Doing some shopping in Estes Park and could not ignore the aroma from Poppy's. Both inside and outdoor seating and the seating is quite spacious. We were seated immediately and served quickly after. The food was delicious and they have a nice variety of pizzas we got the Thai and Enchalada Pizzas and the Fried asparagus which was fantastic.

Local place with just the right menu full of plenty of options. Poppy's offer sizeable portions and fair prices and our service was great I opted for a sandwich, ham and gruyere cheese with caramelized onions - sorta like a patty melt with ham. Hit the spot , only criticism would be another slice of ham would have better balanced the sandwich Substituted the soup it comes with for some excellent crunchy fries.

The service was alright. Food was good. It was clean but not super nice, seemed pretty old. Waited a while for the outside on a Tuesday afternoon but they could've sat us inside right away.

    Very Small 10" pizza

Good food, good waiter, very full and busy but not loud at all music was the perfect volume. our only complaint was completely on us.. we thought the small pizza would be a normal "small" pizza... it was not. but it was amazing

The food is great as always. The service swift and kind. While we did not sit outside by the river indoors was plenty chill. Or waitress top notch.

I slept about 4 hours the night before to make it early for sunrise. To say that a few tasty beers were what the doctor ordered would be the understatement of the century! None of this matters, of course, to the good folks at Rocky Cut Brewing Company. This is off the main drag of Estes in an unassuming strip plaza. Humble vibes inside, a simple U-shaped bar top with seating all around, a few smaller tables, a community table, and a large patio with mostly picnic table seating. If you're lucky, snag a stool right along the Big Thompson River! Though, I recommend they fix the wooden placeholders for beers, they're leaning on the wrong side of history, we don't want any full glasses of beer reaching an unnecessary demise! Interference IPA * American IPA * 6.7% * 16oz ($7) From their website: "Climbing the Interference Boulder in Rocky Mountain National Park requires strength and power. This Colorado IPA showcases the power of hops with an intense blend forging citrus aromas with a pine forward finish. Featured ingredients: Cascade, El Dorado, Mosaic, Chinook, & Simcoe hops * Recommended adventure: hiking Black Lake, climbing the Twin Owls, skiing upper Hidden Valley." A perfectly apt description. I would summarize this beer just as they did, focusing on hops, citrus, and pine. Absolutely delicious, a memorable IPA in recent memory. I liked it so much I ordered it again and it tasted just as delicious the second time down! They also had a food truck outside, so safe to assume they do this often. Would love to try more of their beers during my next visit. Rock Cut, I see you!

Google does…read morenot give the correct directions - when we followed them, we ended up in a random parking lot a block over. I recommend setting the GPS to the brewery rather than the truck. When we visited on Sunday after hiking at RMNP for the morning, there wasn't much of a crowd here. We ordered and the the food only took about 8 minutes to arrive. Meeker Margherita ($21) - Perfectly cooked crust in this pizza. The cornicione in particular is expertly risen and cooked, giving plenty of charred bubbles and the perfect chewiness. The undercarriage, while floppy, isn't soggy at all. It hold up very well to the ingredients on top. The crust is first slathered sparingly with tomato sauce. The sauce is reduced quite a bit and tastes almost like a concentrated tomato paste. They don't use a lot so it doesn't soak into the crust at all. On top, there's a couple of pieces of basil giving a very noticeably fresh aroma. There's plenty of melted mozzarella cheese, which seem to be of the pearl variety, mild tasting and stretchy. They apparently also drizzle some EVOO, although there's no particular peppery or fruity notes, or heck any real olive oil flavor at all. With how well all the other ingredients worked together, the olive oil is very disappointing. Still, it's a very well constructed pizza. (5/5) Panorama Peak ($23) - Again, this pizza has the perfect crust. Instead of tomato sauce, it's slathered with ricotta cheese, making the pizza very rich and creamy. More melted mozzarella on top of that for even more fatty richness, then pieces of proscuitto, chewy and salty. The meat isn't sliced that well so it's messy to eat. They then essentially cover the pizza with an arugula, tomato, and shaved parmesan salad. The arugula is super peppery and bitter, the tomatoes are fresh and sweet, and the parmesan adds more saltiness. The main sources of salt are the parmesan and the proscuitto. Neither are added in large enough quantities to make the pie overly salty. Mixed in the with the arugula are a couple of stems of cilantro for some reason. Nothing on the menu actually uses cilantro so I'm a bit confused where it comes from. It's essentially a salad on pizza dough so everything falls off the crust very easily making it messy to eat. (4/5) I'm very impressed with the food served at Mangia Mangia. I didn't expect to find such great pizza in a small touristy mountain town. I'll be back next time I'm in the area! First of all, the NOISE on the inside was unbelievable, you literally couldn't talk to the person sitting next to you, so the ambiance is dismal. The price point for the quality of food is just insane. I used to think about the eggplant parm, and now it's something I hope to forget. The eggplant itself was fine, crispy and the ricotta cheese sandwiched in between is a nice touch but that's where it stops. It was served on top of cold pasta with very boring marinara sauce in which the pasta wasn't drained properly so around the entire dish was watery separated cold marinara. From the moment it was brought to the table it looked unappetizing and that proved to be correct. It also had large raw mushrooms in between the two slabs of eggplant. It just screamed lazy and I picked them all out, and I love mushrooms, but in this instance they just didn't make sense. Also, it had slices of square mozzarella cheese that was barely melted and it had almost a plastic-y texture, huge disappointment. We also had calamari that was flavorless and soggy, not deliciously crispy as calamari is intended to be served. Our waitress was nice enough but pretty much took our order and we never saw her again until the bill came. Like I said, with so many other amazing places in Estes I just can't justify coming back.
