Bacon avocado burger with onions rings
    Mark V.

We visited Papi's Pizza & Grill in Estes Park and had a mixed experience that didn't quite justify the price. My bacon avocado burger was $19, and for that price I expected something a bit more memorable. Instead, it was a well‑done patty with a scoop of avocado on the side and no cheese--something I wasn't even asked about. Not awful, but definitely the most disappointing burger I've had at that price point. Didn't care much for the onion rings. My wife ordered the Mexican pizza, which turned out to be very different from what we imagined. The refried beans replaced the sauce, giving it more of a soft, sopa‑style feel. Creative idea, but not what we were hoping for. She did enjoy her wedge salad, and our daughter helped her finish it. My son had a cheese pizza and said it was "OK," which pretty much sums up the whole meal. With the total coming out to over $100 for four people, the value_for_money just wasn't there. Not the worst meal we've had, but not one we'd go out of our way to repeat.

Doing some shopping in Estes Park and could not ignore the aroma from Poppy's. Both inside and outdoor seating and the seating is quite spacious. We were seated immediately and served quickly after. The food was delicious and they have a nice variety of pizzas we got the Thai and Enchalada Pizzas and the Fried asparagus which was fantastic.

Local place with just the right menu full of plenty of options. Poppy's offer sizeable portions and fair prices and our service was great I opted for a sandwich, ham and gruyere cheese with caramelized onions - sorta like a patty melt with ham. Hit the spot , only criticism would be another slice of ham would have better balanced the sandwich Substituted the soup it comes with for some excellent crunchy fries.

The food is great as always. The service swift and kind. While we did not sit outside by the river indoors was plenty chill. Or waitress top notch.

A very homey and cozy restaurant serving up comfort food. I had the soup and sandwich meal, which was half good. The vegan chili was outstanding. I would've ordered a whole bowl of it, if I knew how good it was. However, the sandwich was okay. The bread was what really threw it off. It was so hard I couldn't eat it, so I basically just ate the sandwich without the bread. The pizzas were great and really good sizes. Be aware that the speciality pizzas are a lot more expensive than the basic pizzas. Overall, a quaint restaurant with some good comfort food.

Great scenery and food. Had a personal pizza and marinated olives. The outdoor patio is situated right next to the river. Great place for a meal and some peaceful thinking.

Gruyere and Onion Grilled Cheese, Cream of Potato Soup

Food: 4/5 The food was generally delicious, and very high quality. I ordered the Spice Road wedge salad, Poppy's Special pizza, and a lemonade; my wife had the Gruyère and onion grilled cheese. The lemonade tasted hand-made and fresh. The salad was perhaps my favorite thing I ordered; the odd combination of curry and balsamic flavors was both unique and incredible. The pizza wasn't my favorite, but for matters of preference; I prefer crispy thin-crust pizzas, and the pizza at Poppy's is thick and doughy. It was clearly made with high-quality ingredients, as the mozzarella cheese and sausage both stood out for their strong flavor. Everyone else who ordered a pizza loved theirs. Service: 5/5 I have no complaints in this category. We were seated quickly and served with enthusiasm. Our orders were all correct, drinks were topped off, and our table was frequently cleared of unused dishes. Ambiance: 5/5 The interior is well-decorated, clean, and quiet. We sat by a window overlooking a stone walkway and the river, which was very scenic and enjoyable. I liked the wine glasses on display, and my wife loved several of the paintings. Overall, this is a great place to stop for lunch. I somewhat regret not ordering the battered fish sandwich, but if you like thicker pizza, this is a great place to get it. The drinks, salads, soups, and appetizers were equally tasty.

We stopped for lunch at this venue and really enjoyed sitting out on the patio. The view of the river walk area is fantastic, there were even elk on the other side of the river! We both got pizzas and shared a salad. All our food was delicious and came out hot! The menu provides options for different tastes that fit vegetarian and meat lovers. The service was great, waitress was helpful in navigating the menu and kept our drinks refilled. We travel with a pet and they were great at getting us seated on the patio and bringing our dog water.

We had delivery. Based on reviews we got a few personal pizzas and the chile cheese fries. Everything was fantastic. Highly recommend.

This was our first time eating here was sat immediately. The place was super cute and our server was hostess was super nice! I love how the menu is not over whelming! They have pizza selection a burger selection and a sandwich selection! Not a million things to choose from. I don't like when there is so much cause then it makes it hard to choose. For my appetizer I got hummus w olives and pita bread which was really good. For my main food I got the chicken primavera pizza which had chicken, broccoli black olives fresh tomatoes and mozzarella and OMG IT WAS SOOOOO GOOD!! Over all server was perfect. Food was perfect. It was all perfect.

This a decent pizza spot in Estes. We were able to get a seat outside, which is right next to a creek. The outside seating is cozy and very pretty! The food itself was good. The medium was perfect for two people. The cost is not unreasonable. However, it was $4 for a fountain drink which is a bit steep in my opinion. Overall, a good place to eat!

We ordered a personal for each of us so we could try different things and so glad that we did. We all had our favorite but unanimously the best pizza we tried was the Spicy Calabrian, followed by a pepperoni pizza. The flavors of Italy was really good and also the Marguerite. The crust in all of these was flavorful and perfectly crispy. The tomato sauce was really fresh you can literally taste the tomatoes! So good. The spicy Calabrian flavor was like nothing we have ever had, it was rich and spicy and yummy. We ordered a large salad with vinaigrettes and that was crisp and fresh. Overall 5 or the pizza. The robots that serve you the food are fun. Service was good and the decor and vibe was old style New York style. Great spot even better pizza for a 4.75 overall.

I slept about 4 hours the night before to make it early for sunrise. To say that a few tasty beers were what the doctor ordered would be the understatement of the century! None of this matters, of course, to the good folks at Rocky Cut Brewing Company. This is off the main drag of Estes in an unassuming strip plaza. Humble vibes inside, a simple U-shaped bar top with seating all around, a few smaller tables, a community table, and a large patio with mostly picnic table seating. If you're lucky, snag a stool right along the Big Thompson River! Though, I recommend they fix the wooden placeholders for beers, they're leaning on the wrong side of history, we don't want any full glasses of beer reaching an unnecessary demise! Interference IPA * American IPA * 6.7% * 16oz ($7) From their website: "Climbing the Interference Boulder in Rocky Mountain National Park requires strength and power. This Colorado IPA showcases the power of hops with an intense blend forging citrus aromas with a pine forward finish. Featured ingredients: Cascade, El Dorado, Mosaic, Chinook, & Simcoe hops * Recommended adventure: hiking Black Lake, climbing the Twin Owls, skiing upper Hidden Valley." A perfectly apt description. I would summarize this beer just as they did, focusing on hops, citrus, and pine. Absolutely delicious, a memorable IPA in recent memory. I liked it so much I ordered it again and it tasted just as delicious the second time down! They also had a food truck outside, so safe to assume they do this often. Would love to try more of their beers during my next visit. Rock Cut, I see you!

Google does…read morenot give the correct directions - when we followed them, we ended up in a random parking lot a block over. I recommend setting the GPS to the brewery rather than the truck. When we visited on Sunday after hiking at RMNP for the morning, there wasn't much of a crowd here. We ordered and the the food only took about 8 minutes to arrive. Meeker Margherita ($21) - Perfectly cooked crust in this pizza. The cornicione in particular is expertly risen and cooked, giving plenty of charred bubbles and the perfect chewiness. The undercarriage, while floppy, isn't soggy at all. It hold up very well to the ingredients on top. The crust is first slathered sparingly with tomato sauce. The sauce is reduced quite a bit and tastes almost like a concentrated tomato paste. They don't use a lot so it doesn't soak into the crust at all. On top, there's a couple of pieces of basil giving a very noticeably fresh aroma. There's plenty of melted mozzarella cheese, which seem to be of the pearl variety, mild tasting and stretchy. They apparently also drizzle some EVOO, although there's no particular peppery or fruity notes, or heck any real olive oil flavor at all. With how well all the other ingredients worked together, the olive oil is very disappointing. Still, it's a very well constructed pizza. (5/5) Panorama Peak ($23) - Again, this pizza has the perfect crust. Instead of tomato sauce, it's slathered with ricotta cheese, making the pizza very rich and creamy. More melted mozzarella on top of that for even more fatty richness, then pieces of proscuitto, chewy and salty. The meat isn't sliced that well so it's messy to eat. They then essentially cover the pizza with an arugula, tomato, and shaved parmesan salad. The arugula is super peppery and bitter, the tomatoes are fresh and sweet, and the parmesan adds more saltiness. The main sources of salt are the parmesan and the proscuitto. Neither are added in large enough quantities to make the pie overly salty. Mixed in the with the arugula are a couple of stems of cilantro for some reason. Nothing on the menu actually uses cilantro so I'm a bit confused where it comes from. It's essentially a salad on pizza dough so everything falls off the crust very easily making it messy to eat. (4/5) I'm very impressed with the food served at Mangia Mangia. I didn't expect to find such great pizza in a small touristy mountain town. I'll be back next time I'm in the area! The space itself is gorgeous, and not something you'd expect in a mountain town. The high ceilings and massive windows allow you to soak up any mountain and sunset views. They have a nice little patio outside and yes, you'll probably see elk grazing across the street! The pizza left more to be desired. I ordered a simple margherita ($18) and an Odell beer. I would've prefered the pizza to be cooked for another minute in the oven personally, but that's not a knock on them. It desperately needed salt. In the dough and on the tomatoes. The tomatoes slid right off every time I tried to take a bite. It was just severely under-seasoned and really didn't have any flavor at all. I would actually come back here because I do like restaurant concepts like these that offer different experiences throughout the day. A great place to hang out and recharge.
