Unfortunately we had the worst customer service experience. Arrived at the bar and a sign that said "wait to be seated", so we did. And then we waited, and waited...and finally went to the bar to ask to be seated and were told by a waiter to go back to the entrance to wait. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was about half full and plenty of tables open.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]He then seated us outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The Stanley really does have the most beautiful views and should be a great experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, we did not see our waiter for most of our time being there. In fact, the staff closed off the entrances at 9:15 when they were scheduled to close at 10:00. The Stanley was busy and plenty of people wanted to come in. When we wanted to get our check, we looked for our server for about 30 minutes, then went to the bar to ask for it, and were told to go back to our table. Our waiter finally showed after he passed by us many times. When our waiter Jim finally showed with our check, he told us he'd added his gratuity and said we had 4 minutes to leave. I understand this is a tourist hot spot, but we have been staying at the Stanley for the weekend and expected better. The wine bar 217 inside the Stanley hotel is a Killer spot for an afternoon drink, they have a spectacular wine list and Heineken zero for the non-alcoholic crowd. The charcuterie plate comes loaded with two types of cheese, two meats and tons of fruits, peppers, pickles and olives. The service was nice and friendly. Wow, a 5 star experience for sure. If you visit the Stanley Hotel you MUST stop here for a glass of wine and a snack. The staff were so accommodating- helpful with wine recommendations, supplied us with gluten free crackers, and were overall very friendly and fun. We tried a few wines and settled on a nice bottle, I don't think there's any wrong options in terms of wine here. The charcuterie board was also very tasty and had a nice variety. read more

Came here tonight after my boyfriend wanted to see the Stanley Hotel. The Whiskey Bar was packed, We stopped at the 217 Wine Bar. We were lucky enough to have Carrie as our bartender. She was absolutely AMAZING! Her greeting all customers with enthusiasm and said goodbye to everyone as it was her home. Extremely friendly, knowledgeable and had great customer service. The Chenin Blanc was superb! My boyfriend had the late harvest Sweet Riesling which was excellent. Highly recommend! read more

This was the highlight of our visit to the Stanley! They offer custom flights and have a changing menu with a great, curated variety. Our sommelier Jillina was so knowledgeable and had the best little details to share on what made each wine special. Love this place . They are super friendly and the wine is good. The staff is AMAZING! All of this is made for a great experience. The only thing is the Stanley Charc Bite, which is the small $28, is chefs choice. I feel that I should get a small choice for that price so it isn't what is about to expire. Can't believe this new wine bar at the Stanley Hotel isn't more busy! High ceilings, way better view and ambience than Cascades. A serious looking axe behind the bar as well for Shining vibes. We tried two red blends and they were luscious! You can take your wine anywhere on the property. In the afternoon, go after the great view of Long's peak and the continental divide on the sunny porch. Ask for David to give you the piano tour (preview: hundred year old Steinway tuned by John Philip Sousa and acoustics 101) or the geography quiz.
