I've driven by here several times but never stopped. Glad I decided to try it! My burger was large and delicious! The onion rings were hot and crisp and tasted great. The French fries were tasty too. It was quite cool when we were there so we didn't try the shakes or ice cream but I can't imagine it wouldn't be good. My grandson loved that his chicken dinner was served in a Ford "car" plate that he entertained himself with. They have a small, but ample, "self-service" dining room. read more

We had a little bit of a longer wait than anticipated- but it was well worth it. The food was amazing, the service was phenomenal, and the cute little car for the kid's meal was such a fun touch. We've only lived in Anna about 6 months, but we have been several times, and wi continue to visit, and recommend it to everyone. Unfortunately the reviews got it wrong here. We recently moved into the area and were really excited to try this place. I feel that the reviews have been overly generous due to it being one of the very few non-chain restaurants in the area. So it's either eat this or drive for 20 minutes. Do yourself a favor and just cook at home, or head on over to McKinney. My husband and I went and I ordered a chili dog. The chili was a disgrace to Texas. It was pretty much ground beef water. After 2 bites I just couldn't eat it. Those 2 bites did a lot of damage about an hour later. The burger was over cooked, greasy slop that tasted about 3 days old. It also made my husband sick. The fries tasted like the fryer hadn't been cleaned in a long time. If you are looking for a good drive up old fashioned kind of place that has actual edible, delicious food Bakers Drive in McKinney is where you want to be. Sure its 20 minutes away from Anna, but make the trip. Good luck to this place. Maybe if they cleaned their kitchen and produce better food they will make it before Anna gets real restaurants. read more

Food was great - patty melt was melty, cheesy perfection, tater tots hot and crispy. But what stood out for me was the way they handled a mess up, I ordered around 11:40 on a Wednesday afternoon, there was a steady line of people ordering. I waited for my name to be called and kept seeing people that ordered after me pick up their food, I went to the counter to inquire and after checking, they said that the printer in the back messed up and didn't print my order, they said they would get it out ASAP and offered me a free shake while I waited. My food came out shortly after and (what I assume to be the manager) apologized for the mix up and said they wanted to refund my payment due to the long wait. This would have been a much different review if not for the great customer service - thank you! I will be back. read more

I'm really torn on my rating because my husband and I had polar opposite experiences. First off, Spurlock's has a hole-in-the-wall vibe, but excellent customer service. The woman taking orders today was super friendly and helpful, even helping me settle a super important decision: should I get a marshmallow or banana shake. I went with banana and had zero regrets. I especially loved the banana chunks in it and drank half on my way home because it was so delicious. I also ordered sweet potato fries and a hamburger. Everything was absolutely amazing. Taste, portions, quality, mmm mmm mmm! My husband, on the other hand, didn't have a splendid experience like I did. He ordered the butterscotch shake, double double burger, and regular fries. Moments later, his meal was shooting out of every hole simultaneously. And it. was. violent. Seeing as that was our first meal of the day (brunch), we pretty much had it narrowed down to the food causing his distress. As with mine, his food--going in, at least--was amazing. Definitely 1 of the best burgers he's had. For (ahem) the sake of science, we might have to go back to determine for sure, 100% without a doubt if our first Spurlock's experience was a one-off or if it's the norm. For now, we'll stay at a comfy 3 stars, but I'll update accordingly. read more

We love taking a little drive north to Anna to step back in time for a good old fashioned drive in burger and shake! Spurlock's hasn't changed much since they opened in 1959. A lot of options await you at the walk up window or the drive-thru. Prices are great and you won't mind waiting for your order on the busy days. They have a cute air conditioned barn building where you can eat your meal along with music. We prefer to pop down the tailgate and eat while watching folks come and go. Give Spurlock's a try... but be sure not to fill up on the savory options bc the sweets aren't to be missed! read more

Such a cute, small town treasure! I can only judge based on the ice cream but their malt and (fresh!) banana shakes were on point. My youngest was happy with the orange soft serve cone. You order at a window and they have a really cute air-conditioned room decorated in a fifties theme where you can enjoy your treats. One thing to note: the Yelp offer does not work. Apparently, Yelp added that without their consent so they don't honor it. Still a great place and I like supporting a local business. read more

Came here on a recommendation from my tattoo artist who lives in Anna. First, the parking situation is silly. Maybe 5 spots in a gravel lot. They do offer drive thru service, which makes it dangerous for all the people waiting in line. And waiting in line is what we did. There seemed to be no structure in place to take orders at the window and get food out. The employees didnt seem to mind that the line was so long and people just stand in the parking lot between all the cars. The have a shed next door with tables where you can eat. It's a sad room. I wasnt impressed with the burger. With the cold veggies added, it made the burger cold. read more

Website said they were open. Drove 6 kids 25 minutes to Spurlocks and they were closed. Not the same since they ditched the sign. Why would I take a chance again to drive 25 minutes each way? Ended up at Everything Ice Cream and had a wonderful experience. read more
