I have never taken any of these classes but the instructors are so knowledgeable, observant, and patient. They made me feel comfortable every time I went to class. I have only been coming here a couple of months and I can already see an improvement in my game and an increase in my confidence. Augie also takes great pride in his establishment and provides the best equipment so we are always protected. Additionally, the other students are welcoming, knowledgeable, and are always willing to help you. Everyone is always looking out for each other and it truly feels that you belong to a family there. I came to a Wednesday 830 pm class, and i loved it. The instructor was quite helpful. I have never done any Muay Thai, and he helped me through each step. I felt like i got a good total body workout, and the time flew by. The parking lot is a little tricky to get to. If you have any problems, just call them and they will direct you where to park. Now i know how to throw some punches and kicks, and i cant wait to go back and get some more training!

I ended up getting smothered a few minutes in and I tapped and said I need to reset because of my elbow. He proceeded to tell me "this is not how that works" (ON MY FIRST CLASS! ) when I asked to get up. I had to use everything I had to get to a position so I could breathe and eventually force the instructor off. I wouldn't recommend this gym to anyone honestly. The owner came in and told me to quote "get the fuck out". Thuggish, little rules, not clean. Sad that an instructor has the ability to strip the fun out of such an amazing combat sport.

There is always a good ratio of teacher to student. All of the instructors are fight trained and ring experienced. More than a handful have been to Thailand to get real deal training. There is a strong link between Rebel and the technical Sitjaopho gym in Hua Hin. The owner of the gym, Eddie Cuello, is a New York native and you can tell from his approachable but straight forward manner. He trained for a long time out of Sitan Gym with Aziz Nabih, who has a strong kickboxing background. Cuello has also been out to Sitjaopho multiple times. He really emphasizes technique which can be seen in the style of his trainers, like Rod Williams. Cuello also hosts Muay Thai shows at Madison Square Garden. The gym has a lot of gear at hand which is awesome. They are connected with the international and very fashionable gear company Infightstyle. The only downside of the gym is that it doesn't have showers. On the plus side there is a Chipotle across the street.

I recently moved to Glen Cove and was pleased to find that there is authentic Muay Thai being taught in the neighborhood. I checked it out for myself and quickly appreciated it. Signing up for a monthly membership was an easy decision. Master Garcia is knowledgable and caring. He will take the time and put in the effort to train you whether you are a seasoned fighter or someone who has zero martial arts training. If you're reading this review, I suggest you find the class schedule, message the owner, and come in to try it for yourself. I hope that more people in the neighborhood will begin training Muay Thai and that it fosters a greater sense of community.

There have been a lot of changes…read moreover the last few years including them putting in boxing ring, creating a weight lifting area, they now have multiple fighters including one that is now in the UFC. Brandon teaches most of the classes but occasionally one of the fighters will teach - all good and they follow in his style. The gym also offers multiple classes for different levels - Muay Thai, Sparring, Clinch, Boxing, BJJ w Gi, BJJ no-gi, wrestling, and yoga (on Sundays). Whether you are a beginner, just training to be fit or to fight - EMT definitely a great place for you.
