Absolute pasture-approved excellence. First off, the name says 'Badass,' and for once it's not false advertising. Most places slap edgy words on the sign and then serve beer that tastes like somebody filtered rainwater through a flip-flop. Not here. The beer actually has personality. Bold flavors, small-batch attitude, and enough variety that even a 2,000-pound bovine with anger issues can find a favorite. The atmosphere? Perfect. Cozy, chill, unapologetically local, and zero pretentious craft beer nonsense. Nobody in there is trying to explain 'notes of elderberry with a whisper of regret.' They just hand you a great beer and let you enjoy life like civilized savages. Also, respect to the fact this place started as an actual backyard brewing operation. Even if the beer was bad, you might still come here just for the vibe. Added bonus is that the beer IS good. We had a very solid IPA & coffee stout There was an odd experience of someone pulling into the parking lot, coming inside to use the restroom, then proceeding to cordially ask each table if they could spare $10 for gas money. Each table refused, she thanked everyone and left. Possibly a testimony to how welcoming the place appears.

Good variety and just really well made (in my humble opinion). Plus, they have homemade dog treats and great people food (I've heard - didn't go at dinner time yet). And games! We were playing cribbage, and several people came up and asked if we wanted to join the brewery's cribbage tournament! How fun. Despite the wording this isn't an IPA but a historical oriented beer classified as a Gruit, an ancient herbed ale. Herbal mixtures were once used to bitter and flavor beer. This was before hops were used almost exclusively. A few unhopped beers survived after hops were used so much like certain beers from Finland but Gruit beers have not so it was a very refreshing and new take getting a beer from Hop Chaos! A lot of the herbs used in this mixture for this beer and the ancient mixtures differed as this beer was going for a Chai Tea. So you got the herbs and spices normally associated with Chai. Cinnamon, clove and peppery flavors were noticeable with this beer that Steve and I noticed and it should go without saying we enjoyed this beer immensely!

I eagerly opted for the Belgian & the hubs took the new on tap Darkest Timeline. 50% off each with the Hop Passport. Id rate his as a 3.5 and mine as a 2.5, it simply didn't work for me, despite my fondness of Belgians. It was an enter, order & sit establishment.
