So my son comes in the house with a sick look on his face. Grumbles. "I totally cracked my iPhone screen." More grumbling ensues. He then says he was playing some basketball. With his phone in his pocket. This is what happens to someone with not a lot of common phone sense. Oh man... I do a quick Yelp search. There are several to choose from but they are either 45 minutes south, or they are close by but closed already. It is, after all, late afternoon on a Saturday. I find a listing for iCracked. Close by, will come to your location (or meet up somewhere close), and open until 8 pm on a Saturday! I give Kevin a call, he quotes me a price. We agree to meet at a nearby restaurant. After some paperwork, he quotes us a 40-45 minute time frame and a price of $115 for complete repair service. After we had a quick dinner elsewhere, we met back up with Kevin. He explains in detail what he has done, administers a few tests to the phone in our presence, explains the warranty (iCracked has its own warranty on their repair) and lets us know that the button will not "click" like it used to, just to give us the heads up. There was an additional $20 charge for a specific part that popped off when the screen was removed, so it ended up being higher than quoted at $135. Kevin is an independent representative for iCracked and I would recommend him fully. The convenience of calling someone at home to meet you 45 minutes later and then have your phone repaired in less than an hour is a fantastic service! He takes cash, check, CC and Paypal. I would recommend this service to anyone who needs it! Hopefully you won't, but the reality is, you might! And if you do, give Kevin a call. Tip: Don't play basketball in your concrete driveway while wearing sweat pants with your phone (with no protective phone case) in your pocket. It will only lead to calling Kevin. My daughter dropped her iPhone and shattered the screen and had screen repaired at a cost of $120. She was advised up front there was frame damage BUT the tech did not advise this would impact the screen repair. Around 30 days later, parts of the screen stopped working. After contacting iCracked directly, we received an email, "Just to give you heads up, frame damage (warped, bent, twisted, or cracked frame) is known to cause undue pressure on the internal parts which causes a device to malfunction. It's the very same way it affects the screen which typically causes it either to crack, malfunction, or both." They also apologized for the tech not explaining this, but stated we had to take it up with the tech. We contacted the tech (Stephen) and explained the problem and provided the information from iCracked (above). In the course of the communication, I asked him why didn't let my daughter know up front that repairing a screen on a phone with frame damage was likely to fail so my daughter could make a proper decision, and he said ultimately that wasn't his responsibility. Oops. Caveat emptor, I guess. As a resolution, my suggestion was that he meet us half way and return half the cost. That seemed like a fair way to go....shake hands and leave with a positive customer experience even if it was a failed repair experience...but Stephen was adamant the situation was Apple's fault, even though iCracked was very clear in writing that a phone with frame damage was likely to malfunction. He was so rude, condescending and aggressive in his texts to my daughter and emails to me that I cannot believe that any company would want this guy representing them...even if they are, as iCracked stated: "not directly employed with iCracked but our licensed business affiliates." I hope someone explains to Stephen and the "local business affiliate" that if you take care of a customer with a complaint, you can turn that customer into a satisfied repeat customer who will recommend you to others. On the flip side, studies show that for every one complaint received, there are 24 people with unvoiced problems, six of which are serious....and the average dissatisfied customer tells 10 people...13% tell 20. My advice is to avoid the cheap fix with iCracked. read more

The loud speaker stopped working on my iPhone. I went to icracked.com and they set me up with one of their repairmen. He gave me a call and we met at a local restaurant so that he could repair my phone. He said he had to order a new speaker but he would take a look at my phone and see if he could fix the speaker before the new one comes in. Somehow he fixed my speaker and it worked just fine. A few days later the speaker stopped working again. I have sent him several texts and called him and have yet to hear a response. He even told me to contact him if I needed anything else after he fixed my phone. Good thing he only charged me $35. I would not recommend the company to anyone unless it is your last resort. read more

Need cracked screens replaced on 2 iphones (5 & 5s) so began looking up repair shops to get an idea on timeframe and cost of repair. I submitted a quote, the technician offered a price break for both, however was unavailable until the following day. The Icracked website offered chat to provide contact information for another tech, which was this one. He didn't answer but called back asking "who is this". After explaining the situation his responded "NO there is no price break, or discount for 2. The parts and labor are still the same" in a way that I must be crazy to ask such a thing, yet the previous technician that was already booked treated me completely opposite of this, he was professional, and kind at the same time. This place is run by idiots. Their website offers a variety of services that they just do not have the technicians to perform. It requires that you make an appointment request online and wait an hour for a response. When an hour passed with no response, a phone call verified they only do screen repair. So don't wait even a minute, let alone an hour trying to utilize these people. read more
