A visual inspection that lasted less than an hour costs around $300. I knew it was a wiring issue but was quickly told to just get a new heater, and that would be $4,500. Your typical scam company that overcharges, asks for a phone number and email, and will bombard you with spam links for reviews and is out to upsell on a new heater or overpriced thermostat. Stay away from these guys! I'm now gonna try to get my money back because I had to go to someone else to get a proper repair and a reasonable price. Follow up- I got my invoice after it was sent to a misspelled email by them, and ridiculous charges that are misleading like " Furnace Inspection now only $65- total $125." Makes absolutely no sense. Called twice after a comment was posted here by the company to reach out that they have since removed. Spoke to two people who both said yea that invoice doesn't look right, We'll have someone call you back. " Of course, never hear back. Absolutely appalling scam of a company. read more

OVERPRICED! We called Squeak Services to replace one gasket on the faucet that was loose and let water out on the counter. Service was fast and competent, although we will see in time whether there is no more water leaking. However, we were charged altogether $500 for a gasket that cost a few bucks and took less than 1 hour to replace. read more

My condo had no air conditioning. I made sure to be informed and received 5 estimates before choosing a company. The best price I received was from Jesse at Squeaks. It is a team effort to get the equipment installed. Jesse told us he had a great team of installers that could run the wires with minimal damage to sheetrock. Steven came out with the install team and talked us through the best options to install the unit on my balcony. Dave ran the wires and WOW, we are so IMPRESSED! Other companies were wanting to rip out our walls because the condo was built in 1984. Dave was able to run the wires inside a casing and it looks amazing and we spent zero dollars on sheetrock repairs! The entire team of people we worked with were professional, respectful of our property, easy to communicate with and did an exceptional job! We requested a spring swamp cooler start up for a swamp cooler that this company installed last year. We first were told that they don't service equipment until it is 1 year old. I informed then that when they installed it last year that we were told that they service and do start ups and shut downs for the swamp coolers and to give them a call. We did call over a month ago. We were given an appt for start-up about 1 week or more out. That appt got cancelled because their " technician got tied up with a couple of issues on the current job" and we were rescheduled another week out. On the day of that appt we were contacted that their "technician got tied up with running into issues with their current job" and they had to (when I complained about being rescheduled for the second time) to not reschedule because we had already been rescheduled twice. The same thing just happened again today and they were supposed to be here between Noon and 5 pm but were advised that the "technician keeps running into issues with his current repair" They wanted to reschedule us yet a third time for a fourth try at an appt! Pretty sure they should have more than 1 technician to handle their jobs???? We ended up firing the company and scheduled with another company. End story, try to find another company for your swamp cooler needs. Not sure of their service for other issues but don't seem to have enough ability to follow thru with their schedules, repeatedly! Although the repairs I originally requested were done in a timely fashion, things quickly went downhill afterward. 1st, they incorrectly billed me twice totaling 1.5 times more than the quoted price (instead of the billed amount of $1300, got charged for $1900 because 1/2 deposit was charged first then the entire bill again the next day). It took 3 phone calls and 2 emails to resolve the billing error. No one called back once the correction was made. I had to find out after emailing. Then the itemized invoice never came until I had emailed. So I signed up for the annual maintenance service for $198, for which the company was not clear on what that entails. Received a call to schedule a water heater flush. Scheduled one thinking that it's part of the maintenance service contract. Turns out that I'd be responsible for $50 trip charge and $70 for the flush. Luckily, I turned down the service and the plumber left w/out charging me for the trip fee. So the $198 annual service plan only includes some inspections of heating and plumbing, while still obligated to pay $50 each time a technician comes out. Not a bait-and-switch scheme but somewhat close to it. They should have been better at communicating the price up front and clear about the terms and conditions. Quite disappointing. read more

I hired them to turn on our Evap Cooler. They set it up about two weeks out from that call for a Monday. They canceled it and moved it to Wednesday. They then showed up with the wrong ladder and couldn't do it. They rescheduled it for the following Monday, but now said it would require two people (in ten years this has NEVER taken more than one person). They just canceled that service again the day they were supposed to arrive, and said they wouldn't be able to to come out the entire week. They have no idea what they are doing. I scheduled a sprinkler blowout on October 1 for October 18, I took the day off work and at noon I called to see what time they would be coming and they stated that they called me that same morning to let me know on the day of the blowout that they would be canceling which they never did. Beware!!! Beware Beware!!! Had an issue with the stopper in an old 1932 tub. IT would not drain well then stopped. Larry their plumber and OWNER said the only way to retrieve the damaged stopper was to cut open the pipe and get it from below, as it broke free from the mechanism that moves it up and down and it was stuck in the drain below. In this case that would require him to DEMO wood flooring of recently refinished floors. I repeatedly asked him if there was any way to get the drain open without cutting into the pipe and ruining the floor and Larry repeatedly said no and it could not be fixed. The stopper could not be removed and due to the age of the pipes the floor would have to be removed. He gave a whole song and dance of BS reasons why. Well after he left we took the information he gave us and put a hanger in the drain and removed the stopper in less than 15 seconds. This company would rather charge 2000 dollars and tear up a hardwood floor than perform a simple task. This is the type of company that gives plumbers a bad name. Shame on you guys! read more

Bought a new unit from this company with warranties on parts and labor. At 3.5 years my motor was running really loud and dripping water into the system. I had another ac company come out and they stated the install was done poorly. I couldn't find my labor paperwork at this time. I called this company they stated they did not have it on file. The tech called and explained the same. They told me I had 1 year warranty because that's what they give on labor. They said they found it and sent me a invoice without my signature on it stating 1 year on labor. I found my paperwork It actually stated 3 years labor warranty. My brother called this company and they almost wore a hole in lead bend when they tried to unplug his sewer. They needed to install clean outs in front yard because of the major root problem. They showed up late at 10:0 AM and by the time I got there at noon they were on their second hole. They were digging blindly not knowing where the sewer was. I've been a master plumber for over twenty years and I located sewer for them and they didn't even thank me. A week later the sewer backed up. I used a camera to inspect and it wouldn't even go down 12 feet from new clean out. When they finished the clean outs they assured by brother that sewer was fine. His sewer isn't fine it needs to be replaced. They charged $6800.00 for their incompetency. read more

We tried to use this company for an urgent concern for a possible burst pipe. At first everyone seemed very nice & professional over the phone, and we were able to make a next-day appointment. However, once it came time for the appointment, it became clear that the correct information was not passed on to the technician and I had to re-provide information that my husband had already provided. This led to a delay in the arrival, which was disappointing since I had arranged my work schedule for the appointment. Finally, the technician claimed to be on their way, but then said they couldn't find parking that worked for their truck. We live in a residential neighborhood with plenty of spacious parking, including plenty for a large truck (I even sent them photos of the available parking spaces). This was a blatant lie. I have used Squeaks in the past for service. My A/C unit finally died so I called Squeaks. They emailed me my quote with good, better and best units for me to choose from. I chose the unit that was within my budget and two days later they did the work. They don't use scare tactics or high pressure sales to get you to spend more money on a unit that isn't needed for your home. My appt. was between 8-9 and they were there at 8 on the dot. Perez and another tech explained what they were going to be doing and quickly got to work. I asked a few questions about my new condensing unit and coil and they explained how the new system worked compared to my old one. Before I knew it they were done and had our a/c up and running. I called Squeaks based on a recommendation from a business management company. HUGE mistake. This was on a Friday morning and their technician that came out was courteous and professional. We received a written quote from him after diagnosing the issue with my floor drain. The tech said he was going to grab a bite to eat before he was able to continue with his work. While he was out to lunch he called and said his company was not pleased that he waived the diagnostic fee of $89.95 (even though it was not on his quote) and that he would have to charge that anyway. I was not pleased obviously. He called back again after about 45 minutes and said that he was being pulled by Squeaks because there was another emergency that he had to attend to. That left ME hanging all weekend with a wet floor and without anything fixed. Squeaks called me to say that they would be back on Monday between 8 & 10 am. AGAIN, totally UNPROFESSIONAL. Monday morning, 8:10 am, Squeaks called me to say that they decided that they did not want to service my home. Had I known that on Friday, I could have had someone else lined up for Monday. Now I had to scramble to find someone else that could come out that day. Luckily, I found another company that came out right away and was able to fix my problem and for less money as well. We had received recommendations from two other owners to use Squeaks. What a horrible mistake. The driver called after we waited 45 minutes past our planned time and said he couldn't find parking. We live downtown surrounded by half filled surface parking lots. We contacted dispatch who indicated we had to reschedule. Update to my one-star 11-28-20 review of Squeaks. It is Feb. 14, 2021, and MINUS 6 DEGREES outside. Yesterday it was MINUS 2. And guess what: NO HEAT. That's right. NO HEAT. Whatever the Squawks technician did in late November to fix a malfunctioning heater DID NOT LAST. The incompetent, emotionless robot only made a temporary fix. A competent person would've made the heater barrel through this Arctic blast. I've contacted the property management and HOA about this and am urging them to find a NEW company to fix the furnace. read more

We woke up one morning not long ago to no heat! The serviceman, Perez, was great! And he was here in just a couple of hours, with a bright smile and covers over his shoes! He tested several possiblities, and found several areas that were failing in our 20 year old furnace. Had $ been an issue, I'm sure he would have done his best to help me out, and keep it going a little longer. Luckily, that was not an issue. Squeaks plumbing was terrible and unscrupulous. I would highly caution anyone with a plumbing concern to not use Squeaks plumbing company. They charged me $4,400.00 to repair a leak in my basement which was worse after the repair. Squeaks came out and informed me their repair was good and the worsening leak was another problem. I had another plumbing company provide a second opinion and they suspect that there never was a problem where Squeaks did the repair Squeaks ran a camera twice then told me that they did not have the recordings as the camera was not working. They did charge me for the camera and video and told me they would send me the videos. I believe they did a $4,400 repair that was not needed and now are not sharing the videos that would show the scam. Do not use this company if you want honest, quality care. read more
