They're amazing wait and cook staff; for returning customers, they're good at remembering your favorite orders. It's relatively relaxing to eat and have a good conversation. Every time I come in here they make me feel so welcome. The food is amazing and never had a problem with it being over cooked or under. It is always done right. I even had my boss when she came down to come try it out and she loved it and can't believe on how well it tasted and the kindness you get from all the staff there with always smiling . We were in the area visiting and decided to order delivery from My Garden Cafe. Our food delivery was hot and fast. We ordered a variety of items to share... Chorizo omelette Maple pecan waffle Turkey melt Club sandwich Bacon and eggs and a few cups of hot coffee. All of which were pretty tasty, especially considering it was food delivery! First off, I have eaten at many My Garden Cafe, our favorite is the one in Sonora with Turlock coming in second, and the Modesto one on Tully Rd, right behind. The food is excellent, each restaurant we found to be clean and the service superb. So this rating is for the one who absolutely was the worst one of all... the My Garden Cafe located inside the car wash on Oakdale Road in Modesto. Don't go there unless you absolutely have no choice, and then reconsider it! Dirty throughout, tables, chairs, benches, floors... nobody seen cleaning the tables or floors while we were there. The service was just ok, at its best. Nothing like the service we get at the other My Garden Cafes. I would imagine a good reason is the place is usually filled with people waiting for their cars to be washed and decide upon breakfast or something else. Not a lot of help, and they are trying hard to keep up to the demands of the customers. The food was ok, a bit on the cold side, as I imagine it was ready long before the servers could find the time to do all the other work needed to run that place. I guarantee you we won't be back to this location. I really wish the management who own the My Garden Cafe would drop in announced and just settle down to breakfast, see for themselves how this location is putting a bad name on a good restaurant chain. read more

Usually not satisfied at other café's but this one hit the spot! Steak and eggs: the steak was over cook, we asked for medium and got well done, forgot to ask for it med rare, it would have came out perfect, next time! Eggs were as for medium but they came easy, easy fix though no big deal there. Hashbrowns were cooked perfectly and they even had an option for tots which were also nice and crispy! I haven't heard anything bad about this place. It's a traditional American diner style restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch. Open from 6-2. They have a lot of choices and six other locations so I can always find one pretty close to wherever I am. I have never had strawberry jam as good as My garden Cafe and the boysenberry is almost just as good but strawberry has always been my favorite so I might be biased. read more

Food and service is very good. However the staff especially the cooks talk WAY too loud . I can hear them better than the person sitting across the table. First time here. Excellent customer service. Patty was my server. Thank you Patty for taking such good care of me. Juan was the cook. Delicious breakfast Juan. It was a simple breakfast. I wanted to try their EARLY BIRD breakfast special. I started with a cup of coffee. My breakfast was served promptly, pancakes, tater tots and 2 eggs over easy. It was delicious. Next time I will also order bacon and or sausages. The restaurant has a local feel. The ambience is relaxed. The staff seem to treat everyone kindly and were accommodating. They are very hospitable.. Ordered for takeout when I got there I received my order was not complete it was the country omelette it's supposed to have country style gravy, it had no gravy. I just don't get this place. It has all the makings for a great diner but it's just lacking something. I've been coming here off and on for years with co-workers. Every time I decide to go here I am disappointed. This last time my friend and I went and they sat us at a table with full on sun. I could only take it for a few minutes when I told the waitress I'd like to move. We moved over one booth and that was fine. I ordered the cobb salad and when it came it was missing the avocado. I asked the waitress and she said they were out. If I had known that when I ordered it I might have ordered something else. The ranch is watered down. Like, a lot. There's a lot to be said for good salad dressing. The rest of the salad was ok (and they have good bacon I have to give them credit there). I think maybe it was supposed to come with a slice of bread but I didn't get any if it was. I've ordered several other things off the menu and everything just seems to be lacking that extra spice or something. Just kind of bland. read more

We came for Sunday brunch with about 25 parents and preteens in between sports tournament games and the staff was very efficient and attentive, the food was exactly as we ordered it and came out quickly, drinks were refilled promptly and all condiments were provided before needed. Wow! Just called to ask what soup they had today. The response was "we're closed." I said "oh ok well what will you have when you open back up". The response was "we have hearty vegetable everyday and clam chowder on Fridays". I was going to say ok thank you but I got hung up on. The entire tone of the person who answered was just unwelcoming as if I was bothering her in some way. Very very rude phone skills...or lack thereof. Won't be trying out this place after that kind of treatment over the phone. If you're too annoyed with people calling in after you're closed, then maybe set up calls to go to a message that says you're closed and note your hours of operation. We frequent this place almost every weekend. We always get great service. Cindy and Patty are very hard workers. Always busy, but they don't deserve the mouthing off that they get from the cook. Yes he does cook well but on numerous occasions I have heard him shout out rudely to these ladies but never as much as I've heard today. Every time they picked up orders they were missing something and as they asked for their missing items he would snap back at them as if it were their fault and then demand to see their tags as if it were their fault. Not one time were their tags wrong he had just missed it yes it was super busy but no need to treat your staff like that. You could definitely see the frustration on their faces, they deserve respect. You can tell these ladies are well liked by their customers because they are always acknowledging the patrons. If you order the ordinary, straight up food like waffles or regular eggs, then you'll be in OK shape. Everything else seems to lack flavor. I would come to this location as I liked the food at the one in Modesto but the service over there was real funky. Well my love affair over here didn't last long due to a disastrous Mother's Day experience. We were seated in a noisy ass section where TWO 15-person parties were seated when there were better and quieter seats available. Then we essentially went ignored and the table busser had to get our drink refills. The waitress tried to run away after bringing our food before I could ask her for some condiments. My food was OK (because I sticked to the tried and true stuff) but everyone else was ho-hum about their omelettes and the eggs benedict. Won't be back. read more
