Squeeze is a concept founded by the founders of Drybar. They believe in a high-tech experience rather than getting people in and out quickly. There is a choice of scents, sounds such as piano or the ocean, and most importantly, what you're looking to address, as far as areas of concern and style of massage you're comfortable with via their mobile app. I am on a monthly plan now, and I have been enjoying it and finding value for my investment into myself. My cousin recommended this place and I was reluctant because I thought it was similar to Massage Envy. Turns out I was wrong. When you first walk in you'll see its modern, clean decor and it smells like a relaxing spa (as it should). The receptionist was very friendly and checked me in. I used the app to book my massage ahead of time. You can sign up to be a member and choose between the 50min or the 80min massage. They charge you monthly and you use as you wish. There are several preferences to choose from to help make your experience even better: -Length of massage -Pressure -Areas to work on -Areas to avoid Once we checked in, we walk to the back waiting area where they have tea, water and almonds. The decor is that beautiful Tiffany blue. Very inviting. I like to get there early so I can soak it all up. Once in the massage room your massage therapist will go over your information you selected in the app. They have 3 types of aromatherapy scents you can choose from to smell during your massage. Grapefruit is my absolute fav. There's a screen in the room to choose your music and volume. They also have hair ties, mints and face wipes to remove or clean up your make up. The bathrooms also have mints and hair products in case you need a little freshening up. I've been here twice now and had a different massage therapist each time and both were equally amazing. Location - easy to find parking in this area of downtown. Suggest going before dinner time though. I walked by after going to Pilates one morning and found the place. Ambiance - love the baby blue color scheme. I wouldn't say it's necessarily upscale but they do provide tea, spa water, and almonds in their lounge Massage - love that you're able to set the music, lyrics or not along with the volume. The rooms were the perfect temperature and the table was heated. Add one like heat / aromatherapy / percussion are free. You press a butt under the table when you're ready for the masseuse to reenter the room. You also chose your focus areas along with pressure prior to coming online the masseuse will confirm your choices. I wish they had longer options, right now it's only 50 vs 80 minutes. My masseuse Jocelyn was great! She was able to work out some stubborn knots in my shoulders. Rooms for improvement - I wished the lotion was warm... Very relaxing vibe and great masseuses. Easy to book, customize, and pay in their app. The space has a boutique spa feel, so more cozy elegance than fancy but still feels like a place to treat yourself. There are 4 optional aromatherapy scents to select from. The therapist takes you to the room where there's a nicely thought out dedicated space for your stuff. You discuss/confirm focus areas, etc. The bed can be adjusted for different heat settings. When you're ready, you push a button to let the therapist know to come back in. I've had massages with Barcelona and Manny to date. Both are quite good and I wouldn't hesitate to return to either of them. The hardest part of scheduling is that your preferred therapist may not be available when you are, but given I'm 2/2 on therapists, I'm ok with that. read more

I'm excited to keep coming back to Squeeze! I had a massage today and the whole experience was everything I've been looking for in a massage spot! Booking a time slot through the app was really easy and I like that you can save all your preferences to your profile. Check in was super easy and I was immediately brought to the lounge in the back. My massage therapist, Jocelyn, was ready for me not too long after. I like that at Squeeze, all massage beds are in their own rooms, rather than other places I've been to in the area that are either in shared spaces or just have dividers between massage beds. You get to choose your own music, massage scent, and own corner to put your things away. Jocelyn did a great job accommodating to the pressure that suited me even over different areas on my body! She was knowledgable and gave me tips afterwards how to have less tension in my body. I highly recommend Squeeze if you want a great experience from beginning to end! read more

Update: I actually did email back. I do admit it was my fault for being late, but the google map showed another location and the receptionist stated that they are in process of updating it with google map as well. As to my children, unfortunately plans changed and I wasn't aware I needed to inform anyone that my children would be coming along as well. I do realize it is a full massage but what's the purpose of filling out the "where you would like the more focus on" or being asked once arrival if it is highly unusual for session to exclude an entire back and shoulder, yet if this is the main area of any massage? My assumption by filling out the intake on where you would like more focused on then the time would be spent more on the location where you want the "more". read more

This was my first time experiencing a luxury type massage and it was great! "Experience you'd expect from a high-end spa. Without the high-end price tag." Booking is incredibly easy and convenient since it's all done through their app. You also update your profile with all your massage preferences. Since I've never tried it before, I added percussion and heat therapy to my service (doesn't cost extra!) The interior is very minimalistic and clean. I was brought to the back where there's a mini lounge area with samples of their aromatherapy, almonds, water, and tea. My therapist, Dominique, came to get me and brought me to the room and went through to confirm my preferences from my profile before starting. Also a nice touch-- you push a button under the bed which triggers a light that lets your therapist know you're ready. I've never had someone do percussion therapy on me but it was heaven. Dominique gave special attention to my shoulders (as requested in my profile), which I honestly don't know if therapists know what areas have more tension/pain or if they unintentionally focus on those places (I'm clearly not a therapist lol) but that's exactly what she did and it felt amazing! She also made sure pressure was just right for me. After the massage, checking out is just as easy. I got a text reminder to complete the checkout, where you can leave your tip and review. This definitely beats the checkout process at other massage places where they hassle you about tipping in cash or the amount. Overall a really nice experience for my first time. Finally got to use my massage credits! Yay! This was such an easy process from booking ...to checking in to getting my massage and walking out feeling like a brand new person. My husband and I easily booked an 80min session using their website a few days prior...there we selected the strength of the massage, person (m/f), areas of focus...and saved out settings. After reading reviews about Jocelyn I decided to go with her. My husband went with a masseur name Manny. When you first get into the room they show you how you can pick a music theme/scent/and when you are ready there is a button on the table you push to let them know. No uncomfortable knocks on the door or walk-ins as you are undressing. They have a cute area in the room where you can put your things in and dimable lights to set the mood right. Jocelyn checked in on me to make sure the pressure was to my liking. Pretty sure I fell asleep for most of it :) Both my husband and I came out feeling amazing. Relaxed, our neck tension gone and legs feeling like jelly. Once we were finished we had one more cup of hot tea and set off on our way. What I really enjoyed was being able to find parking easily and once my massage was finished we didn't have to mess with a bill/tip it's all done online you check out and add your tip. Easy peasy! Great experience with Shawn at Squeeze Massage. Woke up with a kink in my neck from sleeping funny, never a good way to start the week. Found their location searching Google Maps in downtown San Mateo. Their website is excellent and allows you to communicate your preferences for problem areas, desired pressure in different places, and a variety of other options like heated table, aromatherapy, percussive elements, and more. This is a nice change of pace since most massage therapy studios seem to have a janky, half-broken website that barely accepts reservations. The facilities are brand new, very clean, and thoughtfully laid out. The waiting area is in a quiet spot near the back and includes complementary water, tea, and some small edibles, as well as an aroma bar where you can smell test the aromatherapy options before your session. The individual rooms are equipped with an area to hold all of your personal belongings as well as options for changing the music - I appreciated that my massage therapist let me know ahead of time which music options were going to include lyrics so I could avoid those. Shawn took the time to verify my preferences and discuss the problem area bringing me in before getting on the table. And what's more, he actually spent the extra time on the places I was hurting. I often struggle finding massage therapists that will actually spend more time on a painful spot. Truly the the most seamless booking experience I've ever encountered in a massage studio website and an excellent experience with my individual therapist.
