Because they have almost everything and anything you could possibly want from a bakery. I was flabbergasted at the choices. Everything looked absolute beautiful. Besides treats and desserts, they also have quiches and sandwiches made to order. I ended up ordering two slices of ham and cheese quiche and two slices of cheesecake (plain & raspberry white chocolate) to go, along with a hot Mexican Mocha Latte (not pictured). The Mexican mocha latte was quite the wonderful surprise. The first sip you could taste the mocha and cinnamon, the aftertaste was a hint of Cayenne pepper. Truly enjoyable. We got home and had early lunch. The quiche was fantastic. Very savory with chunks of ham. My husband and I will really loved it. They also sell whole quiches for less price than most supermarkets around. We were going to save the cheesecake for dessert tonight but broke down and had it after lunch. My husband actually prefers just plain cheesecake and he loved this so much. I had the raspberry white chocolate it was a very lovely sweet tart taste. This place is incredible and the prices are worth it. If you're nearby you need to check this out.

We decided to drive to Mocksville this weekend to check it out. Arriving shortly after they opened, my wife immediately recognized the cute vintage building. Parking is somewhat limited and we arrived just as another customer did and we danced around each other in order to park. The exterior is welcoming and offers a picnic table in addition to two benches to sit and enjoy your treats outdoors. We walked in and it is equally as charming inside with what appears to be original wooden floors. We immediately went over to the bakery cases which were full of delicious treats ranging from miso caramel snickerdoodle cookies, oat cream pie cookies, pimento cheese grit egg galettes, cardamom citrus sugar cookies, veggie quiche, triple chocolate cookies, cranberry oatmeal cookies, berry bread pudding, and cinnamon rolls. We also browsed around looking at the other items for sale which include Elderflour greeting cards, tote bags and stickers. My wife took a moment to say hello to Gee and inquire about a custom cake for an upcoming birthday celebration as well. We ended up choosing two cookies, the triple chocolate and cranberry oatmeal along with the bread pudding to enjoy later. The cookies were delicious and chewy and the bread pudding was perfect with some vanilla ice cream that evening. Yum, yum, yum. Excited for Gee and her team!

I drove the 20 minutes here to try the food after reading a number of glowing reviews - 4.6 Yelp…read morerating over 77 reviews! It is a small place with less than a dozens tables, and a fairly broad menu. It has been operating for about 10 years now. I was particularly interested in the California Burrito with Steak and the tacos with shredded beef, the Birria tacos, the Guadalajara Dog, and the street corn. We tried them all! The California Burrito is an interesting version - filled with pickled jalapeños, lettuce, tomato, cilantro, onion, avocado, Mexican cheese, sour cream, your choice of protein, and topped with Chili Con Queso once filled. The menu description does not mention FFs which is very much traditional. In fact, the replacement of rice and beans with crispy FFs was what made the California Burrito unique! This is a large burrito, shorter and thicker than the vast majority you'll see. The filling I chose was carne asada and the burrito was topped with what the menu termed "chili con queso". The result was a different looking burrito, but an excellent burrito - and no, I couldn't finish it. The Birria Tacos are only available of Fridays. You get four tacos, sliced radish, Lime wedges, and the house red and green hot sauces. These tacos were well filled with meat and cheese, but there was no consommé, which is very traditional, also no chopped white onion or cilantro - disappointing, would not order again! The street tacos with shredded beef were good, not great - well filled, and well topped with chopped white onion and cilantro. I went all the way which added lettuce, tomato, and Mexican white crumbling cheese, either cotija or queso fresco. Frankly I did not find that the all the way approach worked for me! 3 tacos were $8.99, and all the way added $1.99. These are a bit pricey, most Tex-Mex spots in Winston serve up 4 for just under $13! I wanted to try the Guadalajara Dog more out of curiosity than anything else - I have been in Guadalajara a number of times and experienced some interesting food items, such as Birria (the stew), Pozole, Carne En Su Jugo, BBQ Young Goat, and the Guadalajara Hot Dog ( a wildly popular street food)! The weiner is wrapped in bacon and then deep fried, causing the skin to develop rips. Once in the bun, it is sauced and topped with fresh avocado, chopped onion, ancestry you can add more. This was a good version, but not an item I order often. The street corn consisted of corn kernels, cheese, hot sauce, lime, and a Mayo based sauce. This is a busy item, and I found I prefer the simpler, customary corn on the cob with crumpled cheese. This is an interesting place, one that has a different take on Tax-Mex dishes. Those takes and moves away from tradition are not something for me.

It took about 10 minutes for our food to be ready. Staff member brought our food to our table and it did not disappoint. Hot dog was wrapped in bacon and adorned with various topping including a chipotle crema. My burrito was ginormous! Covered in cheese sauce and stuffed with shredded chickens, veggies and beans. The food was excellent as always. El Taco Shop is unassuming from the outside but don't let that fool. They offer seriously good eats on the inside.

The restaurant had a lot in it - a bar, an ice cream shop, games, and of course the pizzeria. The decorations were really interesting too! Really gave off a retro vibe. The pizza was amazing too. Now a pizza restaurant. 2) Building on #1, they now sell pizza. 3) Now open on Sundays and Monday, and Thu-Fri, (closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays). Check online in case any of this changes in the future. What hasn't changed 1) Outdoor seating area is about the same. Fire pit is still there. 2) They still sell gelato inside 3) Beer area is the same General info - Located in downtown Mocksville, in the heart of the historic district. - Location is an old gas station, which you can see from the old garage bays. - Several draft beers on the menu, including a nice selection of regional beers. - The have national brand beers in cans/bottles - Limited wine selection, but they do have some - Seltzers available in cans - PIZZA! Yes, they have pizza now which is a great thing for downtown. - Pizza by the slice ot the whole pie. They even have a cauliflower crust option (whole pie). - Kid friendly environment - No private parking. Street parking available. - Cash, card and ApplePay accepted The location is a great place to grab a beer, gelato and/or pizza. Outdoor seating is great. They also have indoor seating. I love the draft beer selection. Service is very good. I do have one minor compliant. It is the pizza crust. The ingredients seem to be high quality (toppings, etc.). There are several pizza options to choose from. The crust however is just not to my taste. It's okay, just not great. Outside of that, I highly recommend The Station. It is a great addition to downtown.
