    Birria Quesadilla
    Lynette F.

This place isn't beautiful, but the food is authentic and delicious. We usually get our food to go, but there is a small dining area. We went on Friday and got the birria quesadilla. This was enough food for both of us. Keep in mind it's not open on Saturday and Sunday.

Food and service are great. Burritos are huge and made with fresh ingredients. Lots of vegetarian options. It says a lot that the parking lot was full of nice cars. These folks could eat anywhere but came here. There were also several Hispanic families here enjoying the place. My only critique is the flimsy plastic utensils. The burrito I was served was covered in a sauce that meant I couldn't hold it to eat. The plastic knife bent like rubber and made cutting through the flour tortilla a challenge.

Best authentic Mexican food anywhere. I love this place. Gluten free options are available and everything is flavorful and the ladies here are sweet.

I have never in my life experienced such great quality food and customer service!!! Every other Mexican restaurant I have been to has been too Americanized and could never come close to being as amazing as El Taco Shop. Thank you all for such a perfect experience. I also would like to apologize for all the moaning and groaning while I was eating. It was just soooo good lol. God bless you all and keep up the AMAZING work.

I've tried their birria (which is EXCELLENT but only served on Fridays), Mexican street corn, Taco salad, and today, their gorditas and everything has been awesome! They always give a choice of sauces with their authentic menu. It's always fresh, with great prices, and great service! I can't recommend this restaurant enough!

New items on the bottom of the menu.

Awesome corn tortilla tacos and the burrito bowl is wonderful since I can't have gluten.

This place kicks out some serious Mexican food. They also have some menu items not found at other restaurants. Today we had the Torta Chilanga which was hefty, but the telera roll was light and fluffy. A great sandwich. We also had the Guadalajara Dog, a bacon-wrapped hot dog that is deep fried, topped with fresh avocado and pico de gallo. So good!!!

Damn good Mexican street food. They use to have a taco truck in Mocksville a few years ago and have since transitioned to a restaurant. No waiters so go to the counter, order, pay, then they call your name when your food is ready. Hell of a menu from tacos, burritos, tortas, rellenos, enchiladas, and more. I haven't had anything that sucked or was meh. Highly recommend the tortas (Mexican sandwich), tacos, tostadas, and elite en vaso (cup of corn). This is not the norm for standard Mexican places. If you are looking for something different then I highly recommend. No alcohol but they do have some unique Mexican drinks.

New to the area so we decided to stop by and try them!!! I got the carne asada fries and my husband got the little taco plate with carnitas as the meat!!! The food was delicious and the waitstaff was so friendly! While we were ordering, they brought out to a customer a burrito that was huge!!!! We will be going back!!!!

A friend recommended this taqueria in Mocksville so my husband and I decided to drive out on a rainy afternoon to give it a try. The restaurant has a bright and colorful decor inside. You order and pay at the counter and they bring your food to your table. The menu was full of great options. One that caught my eye was a Mexican style hot dog! Yep, you read that right, a hot dog. Well, I just had to try THAT! We also got an order of 3 tacos, a side of Elote(Mexican style corn)and an empanada. They have a nice selection of fresh made Aguas Frescas as well but we just opted for bottled drinks on our visit. The tacos were your standard taqueria tacos served traditionally with onions and cilantro(you can get them 'all the way' instead if you like) served in a corn tortilla. The meats were flavorful and topped with their green hot sauce and and a squeeze of lime, they hit the spot. We tried the Pastor(yummy), carnitas(yummy) and chorizo (good but not my favorite). Let's talk about the hot dog. It's deep fried so it's ripped open(love) and served in a bun drizzled with two sauces, avocado and diced onion. It was love at first bite! I would definitely order it again. The empanada was big! The dough was flaky and light and our asada and cheese filling was delicious! The corn was served with tons of mayo and cheese(traditional) and we opted for the smoky sauce to be on the side. A little drizzle was all it needed. Yum! This is a nice little taco place in Mocksville and I'd definitely visit it again if I'm in the area.

If you are wondering, I have no idea if this Mi Casa is in the same family as ones in Lexington and Winston-Salem. Summary - Food is a solid 4 stars. - Margaritas 4 stars - Adult drink selection, 4 stars - Service 4 stars - Ambiance 3 1/2 stars - Value 3/12 to 4 stars - Cash and cards accepted Mi Casa is slightly cheaper than what Domingos was. Food is comparable. I have tried the cheese dip, steak tacos and fajitas. It's a pretty large menu. Texana Fajitas (shrimp, steak and chicken) were good. My only complaint is the steak and chicken are chopped fine. You are not getting the chicken and steak strips that are easy to pick out. Street tacos are decent. Same for the cheese dip. The margaritas come in lots of flavors and different sizes. If memory serves me correctly, I got a 16oz, which was served in a square glass. Square glasses suck for drinking margaritas. It's just odd to get the salt off the rim and drink in a square cup. Round is the way to go baby unless you are a straw drinker. The inside looks about the same as Domingos. They didn't change much. If you have never been here, they have a large inside and outside seating area. Outside might be good a night when the weather is nice. Otherwise the outside seating is just concrete with no trees. Not ideal when it is very hot.

A communication error left the restaurant unprepared for the volume of guest that decended upon them all at once. With that in consideration, the staff was very accommodating, organized and efficient. Unfortunately the food was not as good. The chips and salsa taste fresh from the shelf. Open and serve. The rice was nearly flavorless and I suspect that the refried beans come in bags of powdered bean flakes. The ACP chicken had the over dried texture meat that's been precooked or held too long on the hot line. Even worse...the frozen food fish patties with barely dressed tri- colored bag slaw. Acceptable for a busy mom fish taco family dinner. But I expect so much more from every restaurant. The Chipotle Shrimp was the better of the entrees that I tried. The cream sauce was too thick, almost like a country gravy. However the shrimp were nicely cooked and the grilled onions were the best thing on the plate. Overall the experience was at best mediocre and at worst sad.

As soon as we entered the restaurant you felt the good vibes with the Spanish music being played in the background. We were greeted with a smile and taken right to a table. The restaurant had a couple of tables, but it seems like a lot of people do take out as well. As I looked at the menu there were a lot of different options apart from the tacos. There were tortas, chimichangas, etc. When it came time to order the food I decided to go with the tacos. I ordered 1 taco de asada, 1 taco al pastor, and 1 taco de pollo asado. I also got a agua de jamaica (Hibiscus tea) it was also very good and refreshing. While my family and I waited for our food our server brought us chips and salsa which did not disappoint. Once my food came out I was super excited to try it out. The presentation was amazing. The tortillas were homemade, the taco was loaded with onions and cilantro, they give you a good amount of limes, some radishes on the side, and bring out 2 different salsas for you to add to your taco if you would like too. Each taco was delicious and very flavorful. I would say that my favorite one had to be the taco al pastor. The seasoning was just right and it even had pineapple in there. If you are in the area I would definitely give this a try, the food and service are both so amazing. You wont be disappointed!

The birria ramen, huge chunks of barbacoa inside and served with a quesadilla, come on! Also had the empanadas de campechanas(steak with chorizo and cheese) and also an order of pulled chicken and cheese empanadas (it taste like you at you're at home eating Ma's food!!!!), pastor taco was excellent, made with actual pineapple and seasoned well but not too salty or sweet; perfect! The street corn was nice and HOT in temperature and well seasoned but not spicy and could taste the squeezed lime with the tajin cheese and mayo; yum!!!! Carnitas taco was excellent, very tender!!! Oh, hand made corn tortillas.... Come on!!! This is the place to be, I'm telling y'all‍. We got caramel churros to go, they come with some ice cream and whipped with chocolate sauce, so banger!!! Also recommend the fresh made cheese dip with the made to order chunky guacamolè aka 'Guac Mexicano' and some grilled seasoned whole jalapeños on the side(aka Torriados) Finally, would also like to highlight that all the food had very clean presentations and you can tell everything is prepped with very very well- also can tell this in the horchata and Jamaica! I have never in my life tried a perfect Jamaica like theirs- it was not bitter or sour or too sweet or too weak; absolutely perfect, please try for yourself!
