The Station has always been a cool spot, and I'm glad we have something like it in downtown Mocksville. I was super excited to try the pizza, and it seems like it's been the talk of the town since they opened! I've heard lots of great things and seen photos, and it always looks great. We finally got to try it today. We ordered two pizzas: the Mock Pie (veggie) & War Eagle (buffalo.) I have to admit I was a little disappointed. Buffalo chicken pizza (buffalo anything, really) is always my favorite and this one was lacking in a lot of areas. I didn't taste any spice or buffalo flavor. The chicken wasn't tossed in buffalo. There didn't seem to be any type of base sauce.. maybe there just wasn't enough of it but it seemed very much like cheese bread (super heavy on the cheese) with chicken and onion being the main flavor standouts. If I hadn't known what it was, I'd have never guessed it was a buffalo pizza. The Mock Pie was topped with a generous amount of veggies, which I appreciated. I was hoping for more flavor in the sauce and crust, some more crisp would have been nice too. They are certainly not unpleasant pizzas, but they leave much to be desired.

There's a new pizza sheriff in town folks and it's The Station. New owners and new focus! The Station Pizzaria and Taproom now fills a void for good pizza in Mocksville. Formerly mostly a watering hole, the Station now boasts some of the best pizza in the area. First off, there is one size: BIG. The pies are 18 inches. Toppings are plentiful and they use small pepperoni which adds to the flavor and appearance of their pizza. They do sell by the slice which will be more than enough for most children not of teenage years. The station offers sodas, water, beer and wine and wine slushes. You order at the counter or bar , no table service available. The pizza is EXCELLENT. Ample topping and perfect crust. There are some tables inside and out and they do offer music entertainment on a regular basis. They are closed Tuesday and Wednesday which is cool since most restaurants are closed Monday. NOTE: Order ahead of time is an issue. During peak times a wait time of 1 hour to get a pizza is not unusual right now. They've been open for a week but word is spreading fast. Just a word to the wise. They offer several specialty pizzas as well. Check out their website for specifics. The Station is destined to become of regular stop for our family. Small-town friendliness coupled with quality pizza is a winning combination. Run, don't walk to check this place out.

The Station has new owners and a new pizzeria that is awesome! Lydia and the team have done a great job. The pizza is delicious and the atmosphere is as great as ever. We've already been twice and are looking forward to making it a regular spot!

Jukebox played standard country. We came inside and stood there until someone yelled to sit where we wanted, so we did. My husband went to the bathroom and eventually a waitress wandered up with one menu. I told her there were two of us but she handed me the one menu and said that was all she had. I thought that was a little odd, they were about 10 other people inside the restaurant and they had already run out of menus? She was pleasant but I noticed the "regulars" definitely received friendlier service. More people came in and I think more menus miraculously appeared. I wasn't very hungry but my husband insisted getting hot wings as an appetizer. When we asked the waitress how hot was hot she kind of waffled and said they had mixed reviews. When the wings came out, they were swimming in sauce on the bottom of the dish. I will say, the wings were a very nice size, they were cooked extremely well, very juicy and tender, and it was hot. Not hot enough to cry for a glass of milk, but definitely hot enough you did not want to get it on your lips. We were very happy with them and ate them all. We had both ordered the smash burgers with pimento cheese and bacon, cooked medium. When they eventually came out, yes the kitchen was slow but I didn't mind it, everything was still extremely hot in temperature. The fries were thick but very well cooked with crispy outside and fluffy insides and a nice little seasoning salt. The burgers were excellent. Cooked just right, nice amount of pimento cheese, fluffy bun and tasty bacon. We ended up eating half and taking the rest home because we really filled up on the wings. All in all, we enjoyed ourselves and the food was very good for a very decent price.

We were greeted walking in and told to sit where we liked, so we grabbed a table by a window and took a seat. Our server arrived a few minutes later with menus and took our drink orders. We ordered a basket of fried pickles and peppers to start and they arrived within about ten minutes. Golden brown batter fried, dill pickles and banana peppers, salty, tangy, crunchy, spicy, tasty. A good start. I opted for the dirty south burger, a chili cheddar cheese burger with slaw, jalepenos, and fried onions with mayo and mustard. A hearty burger, dripping chilli sauce, crunchy onions, and jalepenos. A good choice. An odd selection of drafts for a brewhouse? A lot of small craft signs on the wall but not on the board? Anyways, ordered a draft yuengling which was good. But I was looking for the local or even regional microbrew taps and they were not here. The appetizer was really good, the burger okay but the brew selection... sort of a let down 3.5 Stars rounded up for the kind staff all in all worth a stop and visit 01233
