I drove an hour to get there, when I arrived his ear looked red so I mentioned it. Suddenly, this is an entirely different appt Now the tech, who was very nice and put in a terrible position, had to tell me that the doctors were running behind and I could make an appt for tomorrow...which would mean another hour there and another hour home, as though my time has absolutely no value. What is especially infuriating is the double standard. Had I not shown up for my scheduled appointment, I would have been expected to pay a missed-appointment fee. Yet the clinic can have me drive an hour for an appointment THEY scheduled, refuse to treat my dog ...even for the original reason we were there, waste a significant portion of my day, and apparently there is no accountability for that whatsoever. Over the years, I have spent a tremendous amount of money at this practice. They have no problem charging extremely high prices, recommending additional services and upselling, while not always being transparent beforehand about what those services are going to cost. I reached out 3 weeks ago after looking through the bill from the physical and questioned it via their chat... and got NO REPLY. If you are going to charge premium prices, then clients should be able to expect premium care, communication, and customer service. That is certainly not what I received today or last month! And this isn't simply about money. It's about respect for your clients and responsibility toward the animals entrusted to your care. I had an appointment. I rearranged my day, drove an hour there, was turned away, and then drove an hour home.!The solution offered to me was essentially, "Come back tomorrow." Would Reading Animal Clinic be equally understanding if I simply didn't show up for an appointment and told them I'd come tomorrow? I highly doubt it. There needs to be accountability on BOTH sides of an appointment. You cannot expect clients to respect your time, policies, and fees while treating their time as though it is completely disposable. Reading Animal Clinic didn't just lose Louis as a patient today. I will also be taking my other dog elsewhere. After trusting this practice with my pets and spending a considerable amount of money there, today's experience was enough for me to take both of my dogs to a veterinary practice where I hope their care--and my time--will be treated with more respect.

Over the course of a number of visits with my two dogs, I began to feel like the staff who attended to my dogs were more like pet owner police. For example, when I told them that I don't give my dogs Nextgard during the winter, the tech looked sternly at me and said "Well, that's going to be put in your file." Then when I put an order in for Nextgard and Heartguard recently, I got a call saying they would not approve the prescription because, see above. Maybe I'm too old and cranky to tolerate how vet clinics like All Creatures run their businesses. To me it feels a little too invasive and $$$ motivated.
