I am disgusted beyond belief with Dr. Srivastava's practice and the way I have been treated since my first visit. I came to the office in October, 2011 because I wasn't receiving the proper medical attention at my previous doctor. I was originally impressed with the office and how I received a new patient info packet outlining the expectations the office has for me. After my first visit I knew that my first opinions were wrong.
One issue is that I am expected to arrive 15 minutes prior to each appointment. I consistently arrive early for my appointments, yet I have to wait 20-30 minutes after my scheduled time to be seen. After waiting a total of 30-45 minutes, the doctor will come in and will not spend more than 3 minutes with me. Not once has she examined me to the best of her ability. Dr Srivastava will stand across the room and has not even asked me to take my glasses off when I am being seen for skin irritation around my eyes, pink eye, or even looked through my nostrils when I've had a sinus infection.
Second issue is the availability of appointments. Back in January, 2012 I had called 9am for an appointment. It was quite urgent since I had extreme ear pain and sinus pain. I was told the first available appointment was in 10 days and the office could not do anything to help me and sent me to the ER. It is unacceptable to me that I was forced to spend a $100 co pay at the emergency room during normal office hours at your place of business for a double ear infection and a sinus infection. If your job is to help people maintain their health, how can you refuse service to someone who is actually sick and needs an antibiotic? If your appointments are so short in availability and your schedule is so intense, wouldn't it be better to extend office hours, hire another doctor, or offer to be seen by an RN, than to let a sinus infection go untreated for an additional 10 days? Untreated infections would only get worse and could lead to more health problems.
I have only been seen a handful of times at most and have not been impressed by the office staff. They seem frustrated, disorganized and bothered by having to deal with patients. For someone like me who works in the customer service field, I demand excellence. Anything under excellence is failure, and by golly you have failed. I do not appreciate being called at least three times between February and March 2012 and being left voice mails saying "Hi Linda, this is Dr Srivastava's office reminding you of your appointment tomorrow at 9am." First of all my name is not Linda. Second of all, I did not make appointments for 9am, considering I am healthy and do not need to take time off from work to pay you for an appointment that is not needed. Third, each time I have called back and stated "please verify your records, you are calling the wrong person for the wrong appointment." After I did this the first time, your office actually called me back, used my name and reminded me about the appointment. Once I reminded the staff, that I had just called, the woman said "oh, ok Linda, let us know if you need a new appointment."
I should have used my better judgment yesterday before walking into your office. I my appointment was at 340. I walked at at 330, the doctor did not see me until 405pm. I made this appointment due to skin irritation around my left eye. Dr Srivastava, once again stood across the room for about 3 minutes, did not examine my eyes, and said she could prescribe a cream that she previously prescribed for the same problem and walked out. By the time I reached the front desk, the receptionist said that she can make a 3 month appointment for me, and I need to go home and check the label on the cream's tube. The receptionist was advised that this cream is not suited for the areas around the eyes. I do not understand why I was previously prescribed Clothrimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate cream for the skin under my eye and over my eye if this is not a suitable cream. I also do not understand why I would have to go home to verify this information if I had already told the doctor which creams I have used and which one worked the best. I told the receptionist that I was unhappy with the level of service I was receiving and that I would have to change doctors.
I do not appreciate the lack of respect, lack of medical attention, and lack of availability on the part of the office staff and the doctor herself. read more
