Not a go to place for initial quote and plan. Charged us $400 for things which could have been totally avoided for a cost estimate. They did some kind of x- ray for jaw joint and other stuff , totally not covered by insurance. And to discuss with doc after x- ray they charged again... there time is valuable... so is ours. Total rip off. Won't recommend. Very much money minded. He said , as both parents are earning he put a brief plan.. really... so single earning less cost? read more

I've gone through two kids each having two rounds of braces here, and have spent the better part of a decade sitting in this waiting room. The staff is friendly and I suppose the orthodontia is as good as he next guy, but over the years there has been a steady decline in timeliness of appointments. Every time we're here, even if it's for a 15 minute minor tweak, we sit at least 30 minutes before being seen, and it typically stretches to the 45 minute mark. Feedback has been given repeatedly with no apparent improvements, and I hear common complaints from friends and other patients in the waiting room. They really need to get a grip on this! It makes coming here really difficult and I'll be glad when it's over. read more

Dr. Sabitino is great. He is like your next door uncle, unrelated by blood but totally adoptable. His staff is great too. All women and all very friendly and professional. I think what drew my husband and I into deciding to use him as the orthodontist for our son is the bright cheerfulness of the woman who meets all the potential patients and the bright, clean, modern look of his office. We just felt very comfortable there the moment we walked into the office. He has provided excellent care for our son. Anytime my son had an issue, we were able to call and he would see him right away. Nothing is too small or too big to make sure things are done right and my son is happy with his braces or retainer. I've called a couple of times with concerns for his retainer and my concerns were taken care of right away. Which is what every parent wants. I would highly recommend this office to any mom or dad looking for an orthodontist for themselves or their kids. I think you would be very happy with the services you will receive here. From the front receptionist to the technicians to Dr. Sabitino himself. And if you do end up going to Dr. Sabitino from reading this Yelp review, can you mention my name for two reasons: one, to let Dr. Sabitino I appreciate what he is doing for my son and I'm Yelping about him and two cause I think I get a free tooth brush if he gets new patients from me . . . just kidding about the second reason~ although, I would not mind getting new tooth brushes- can always use them! This office is a sales office, and rip off! I FELT FORCED TO ACCEPT HIS TREATMENT. When I mentioned that I just moved out here and purchased my home, they cut me off and didn't want to hear that I could not afford the treatment option they gave me. Then Dr. Sabatino came into the room, and said I would have to sign a disclosure saying that I was refusing his recommendation for treatment, and he would "straighten my teeth" but I would have complications for the rest of my life, when I have NEVER had any dental complications at all. I went there to get an estimate for the remainder of my time with braces since I had to start my treatment elsewhere. My first visit, they gave me an estimated price for simply meeting with me and making moldings out of my teeth. I then went back, to get the moldings done, and they charged me literally twice the amount they had previously quoted me, without mentioning it when they were doing the procedure. I got treated nicely, sure - they are SALES PEOPLE! this is a private practice and they pride themselves on being a "bite" doctor - which to me is crazy. My husband, my dentist, and my whole family have never heard of orthodontist differentiating straightening teeth, to straightening your "roots". It makes no sense. The roots and the teeth are the SAME THING. I am truly disappointed, because the $400 they charged me and I WAS FORCED to pay (even though they didn't disclose it to me) could have been more efficiently used to pay for my long term treatment. Not to mention, the financial estimate for 6-9 months of treatment to finish straightening my teeth: Mind you - I have brackets already, and wires on my teeth as is. Dr Sabatino is trying to remove everything and start fresh, of course he is. I was estimated over $3,500 for 6 months of treatment. I was told my insurance would not cover much (about $500) which is crazy because I have amazing insurance. PLEASE GET A SECOND OPINION. They trash talked the place that I was going to previously, and said that Western Dental and "ALL CORPORATE OFFICES" are trash basically and that the treatment they would give me would be "half assed", in more professional words... Although my wife had braces as a teenager, she experienced significant movement of her teeth over the past 2+ years, and installation of braces became the obvious course of corrective action to both prevent further movement, and partially correct her open bite. Not an easy decision when you're 50-something. My wife is absolutely methodical about interviewing and qualifying potential medical providers. Although the Phoenix area is fortunate to have a large community of high-quality orthodontists, we both felt that Dr. Sabbatino and his wonderful staff offered the best 'plan of attack' based on extensive experience with other patients in their 50's and 60's, and we're extremely happy with the results. Dr. Sabbatino was extremely thorough in his initial analysis and development of a precise multi-step treatment plan, which spanned 15 months until removal of braces, and has now transitioned to a series of custom-designed retainers for the next six months. As importantly, Dr. Sabbatino and his team have a sterling reputation for being readily accessible by phone to quickly address questions or concerns, along with scheduling short-notice appointments to address unforeseen issues which may require immediate attention. In my view, one of the important criteria in selecting Dr. Sabbatino, was his support staff and extended team, all of whom have been with Dr. Sabbatino for many years. The office always has a happy and upbeat vibe - there's no substitute for a stable and happy team. I'd highly recommend Dr. Sabbatino and his team. read more

Celiac patients need to that Dr. Sabatino has GLUTEN FREE retainers. We may be Dr. Sabatino's first official gluten-free retainer, but we should not be his last. Dr. Sabatino and his amazing staff worked very hard to source a retainer that doesn't contain gluten, a common ingredient in retainers that has been shown to cause reactions in celiac patients (see a 2012 medical journal case study). While some celiac patients are more sensitive than others, not knowing how my son would react to wearing a gluten-containing retainer, I wasn't willing to chance it and spend hundreds of dollars on a retainer that would make him sick. Dr. Sabatino took my concerns very seriously and found a reliable source for a gluten-free retainer. I know, for people without celiac it may seem ridiculous to worry about gluten in plastic, but it's a potentially big deal, and now I can rest easy that Spencer won't be glutened day in and day out while wearing his retainer. My daughter and son are both patients of Dr Sabatino. From the first appointment all the staff at the Phoenix office filled us with confidence and made us feel extremely welcome. Dr Sabatino is extremely knowledgeable and understands the needs of small children. His and the other staffs nature put your worries at ease. As I now have 2 children attending the office we spend a lot of time there and apart from the journey (we live in Troon) look forward to our time in the office. Dr. Steven Sabatino, came highly recomanded by another clinic. I went to my first consultation, and I spent half day at his office going through diferent people and paying about $400, before I even knew what type of treatment he will be offering me. They asked me to come for a second presentation and spend another hour there... On another note, when I was younger I had traditonal braces for a few years, which corrected my smile, however I still had a underbite, and thats the only reason I came to him, to correct my smile. After paying $400, for the consultation I found out that to correct my bite would cost between $6,000 - $9,000, and it will take up to 2 years. I did not need any corrections beside fixing my bite... I went to see a second opinion. Where I found out that it will take less than 2 years to correct that underbite, and $1800 -$2100, I'm happy I didnt have to pay $400 for an initial consultation, a half day wasted in the clinic, and also I was able to save about $5000-$7000. I felt I was lied by the doctor, and paid $400 for a consultation, where everyone is offering that consultation for free. He camed highly recommended, but I did not expected anything like this.... asking so much money for an easy fix, and 2 years of treatment. read more
