Trying to print documents or get postage for official documents. .5 miles south there is a FedEx kinkos (in downtown Larchmont). Prints are .22 for B&W. Across the street from kinkos about 100yds away there's a mail store for postage and envelopes. I spent $3.02 for what the lady at SSR wanted $12 for. I needed my Thai birth certificate and decided to use this service. I regretted the process, it's costly, and the customer service was not great. I spoke with the Consulate and they replied that I did not need a witness due to being born after 1992. Rin was argumentative and claimed that all the cases she's done required it. We showed her the messages between us and the consulate on LINE application and she was still argumentative. That rubbed us the wrong way. Our notarized document was fine but she insisted there was something wrong or missing and my mother needed to re-notarize her signature with Rin. We got the notarized signature done with another notary. It felt like a money-grab to make the bill higher. She keeps all of your original documents in her office. I would've preferred being given the option to present these original documents to the consulate myself. If something were to happen and these documents got stolen, we would be SOL. I don't like that she didn't explain this in the beginning. Overall, we paid $300 for a Thai birth certificate process with her. I wouldn't recommend it. Thai people usually don't leave bad reviews due to culture of saving face. But clearly, other yelpers of Thai descent concur on our shared experiences. It's way over priced!! I went there to get a money order $55 and stamp it's usually cost $32 from the post office but the old lady charged me $115!!! in total. I know it's gonna cost extra but not this kind of huge extra. And I asked for a pen to sign in money order she refused to let me borrow. Btw they only accepted cash or Zelle. read more

We had an appointment at Thai Consulate, got there early so we went to buy the money order and envelope with stamp for renew my Thai passport for me and my son at SSR Services $100 per person.She asked do we have a Thai ID . I said I had it but my son don't. And she start explaining about the new law to renews the passport you have to have thai ID before you renew the passport but she said just take that envelope and money order and go there first. if you can't do it just come back and return it. I can do mine but my son can't he don't have a Thai ID . The guy at the Thai consulate he explained give us information how to get ID and how to renew the passport very very clear. So we went back 20 minutes later to SSR Services for return one set of money order an envelope with stemp for $100 But she give me back for $90 and she said $10 for helping and give out a lot information . Hmmm!! I'm not called helping I called service charged. She know exactly that my son can't do it, but she still wants me to take a chance. Embassy mentioned the business across the street sells stamps (SSR Services). Let me just say, I went from having a good day (it's 10am), to 120% the complete opposite after dealing with the old white bald guy in there. I told him I needed 50 stamps, he responded stating he has this last envelope with stamps on it he will sell me. I said, " ok, how much?" he stated, " $39.00". My response was with a surprise and no disrespect I said something like "wow, that's a lot." After that comment, he flipped. His tone of voice changed and stated something about I can go somewhere else if I'm gonna complain. Then he said some other things but can't remember exactly because I was in shock and started getting super pissed. We exchanged some comments and I left. Ended up driving 5 minutes down the street to the Post Office and got stamps for $29.00. Everyone trying to make a buck here and there but avoid this place. I went in to ask for $70 money order. Older white male tells me that "he is issued" money orders of a certain amount. So he pulls out 2 $35 MO, $5 each. I'm short on cash so I go to the nearest ATM (5 minutes) and I come back and ready to pay $80. Mr. Slick over here tells me that he just recently ran out of $35 MO but wait; he has a $30 MO and a $5 one. Again $5 each. But wait, I thought he's only issues the certain amount in Money Orders. I told him you trying to hustle me. He immediately gets upset and runs me out. I suggest you call the Consulate and ask how much your visa would cost and go to the RiteAid that's 2 blocks away and get 1 money order for just .99cents. I will be reporting this business. I went in there asking for a simple envelope with a mail stamp, she went ahead and tells me to fill out a Fedex form, and Im like "huh?" I said I just want an envelope (she wanted $5 for it), I tell her I need it to give it to the Thai consulate so they can send me the visa, and she insist that Fedex is better so I can track it, she wanted to charge me $31. I said "no thanks, I'll take the risk", then she said the consulate won't take it, that "she knows", she insisted and insisted until she literally grabbed/pulled her hair in sign of frustration. I pull out $5 and she says "umm..I need a better bill..." My jaw dropped! She said it was too wrinkly! I said it was not! she looks at the bill looking for any damage, and pretends it has minor rip. Oh heck no! I snatched the envelope out of her hand, left the same $5 dollar bill on the counter and left. This is the place to go if you need anything related to filing forms at the Thai Consulate across the street. They were able to help us make sure all the applications and supporting paperwork was correctly done and submitted. The fees were very reasonable and in the long run saved us several hundred dollars and weeks worth of time because we live in another state and would have had to make extra trips if we had not had everything done right. The document translations were very professional and timely for the amount of work that goes into it. While waiting for appointments at the consulate we saw two attorneys trying to submit paperwork for their clients and were turned away because a signature was not signed correctly or they did not have enough copies of something. These were all things SSR Services had helped us make sure was correct. I recommend using them for as much as you can for things submitted to the Thai Consulate that need money orders and postage because there have been changes to rates that have not been updated on the Consulate information and SSR Services will help make sure you have the correct postage amount before you try to submit everything. I would definitely use their services again and recommend them to anyone that needs to submit paperwork to the Royal Thai Consulate. read more

The person who waited on me was patient, explained the choices and the charges. It was easy to pay. Not cheap, but I knew that it wasn't going to be. I was receiving very contradictory advice from the Thai consulate about a rather complicated issue for my wife while visiting Los Angeles. Since we were returning to Thailand in 48 hours this was causing us a lot of stress with no resolution in sight. Then, I fortunately met the highly professional Rin at SSR. I used this place in 2012 and remember them so well! They made it so easy to get my first one year visa to Thailand. I now live in Thailand but I'm thinking of using them again when I am back in the United States for a visit - because they were great and I found it more straightforward using them than getting a visa here.
