Located across the street from TECO, this is the preeminent spot for Notary and Translation Services. They are well versed in the TECO requirements and offer validation not just when you go to get your documents done, but also when you come back to go to TECO (if on a different day). They are responsive to questions via email and phone. I found out about them from Reddit, where several people said that they had come here to have their Taiwan health check notarized. Since this was the step that I was most worried about having accepted in Taiwan, I decided to have it all done in LA while I was there on a trip. Everything went smoothly and without issue - so I can only say fabulous things about Wiltshire Shipping. I was sent over by TECO LA today to get a translation notarized for my appointment, which has generally been a stressful experience for me the past few weeks, not knowing what I'm doing, and whether my prep work has been done correctly. There was a line of people ahead of me when I got there, so I waited my turn, and was able to observe the notary public, Stephanie Cho advise and assure a whole bunch of people who seemed just as lost as I was. I think maybe she thought I was getting impatient about the wait, but it was quite the opposite. I was so impressed with how she was able to speed through the tasks she had to do, while having a clear attention to detail, and providing a warm, comforting presence to everyone there. She gave the kind of service that felt less like a business transaction, and more like getting help from a close family friend. And then it was my turn, and I got to experience it first hand. Turns out, my prep work was not quite accurate, and she went out of her way to get my paperwork in order in no time at all, so I could make my appointment time and be done with this whole debacle. This was the first time in weeks I've felt confident about turning in what I needed to. The fee charged was laughably minimal for the relief and warmth that was given to me in that visit. I had multiple documents translated (and notarized) for authentication. All documents were then authenticated by TECO LA and later accepted by the Bureau of Consular Affairs in Taiwan without issue. I needed notary services for authentication of documents at TECO LA (for Taiwan paperwork). I saw Stephanie at Wilshire Shipping Center came highly recommended on a thread I read on reddit. She also helps with translations of documents to Chinese and corrected and reviewed my attempt. I cannot recommend her more highly. I called and spoke to her two days before I needed to come in for my documents and since she would not be at work on the day I needed the documents, she prepared everything ahead of time for me so that her colleague could just do the notarization part when I came in to pick it up. She is detailed, thorough and efficient and made the whole process painless. So if you need notarization services for TECO, go to Stephanie and I recommend you contact her ahead of time for a quote. They are located about a mile from the TECO office and they validate parking in their garage. I was in and out in about 10 minutes and was able to get my notarizations done on the same trip as my TECO appointment. TECO accepted all my documents with no issues. The cost was a total of $90 for two notarizations ($15 each), help with translation of one report and preparation of a declaration. Fair pricing and great service. I was able to do a walk-in live finger scan, get a document notarized, buy stamps, and get everything mailed out in one place in about 15 minutes. Everyone at Wilshire Shipping Center was knowledgeable, kind, and extremely efficient. The only challenge was finding the business. So so helpful. I had to come here to get documents notarized during my appointment at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office. Stephanie helped explain the forms I needed to fill out, and even helped me write Mandarin because I don't. She is super knowledgeable about the forms needed. They can get busy here with TECO sending everyone here, but Stephanie was professional, quick, and so great. They also sell lotto tickets if you're feeling lucky. It's $15 per page that you need notarized. Stephanie can also help with document translation, but sometimes you may need to wait if there are others before you. Matt B. and I went to Wilshire Shipping Center a few months ago to get our fingerprints scanned, a new and annoying requirement by the California Bar. We'd been putting it off until the last minute, ignoring a barrage of email reminders, and finally found this place on Yelp and went in on the Friday of Easter weekend, when Matt had the day off work. Wilshire Shipping Center is in the same complex as Aroma, though it's separate from the main building, directly accessible from the street. It's a small, family-run operation that seems to service the many Korean office workers of K-Town. We were helped by a nice second-generation Korean dude, very polite and helpful. He scanned our fingerprints for us and we paid up--expensive, but I think that's par for the course. Matt also got his passport photo taken here, and that ended up leading to a bit of an ordeal, hence the late Yelp review. His passport application was sent back because whoever reviewed it decided that the photo was too blurry. I think this passport photo reviewer was power tripping, because it looked normal to me, but in any case, Matt has to go back to Wilshire Shipping Center and take a new photo (I guess he could've gone elsewhere, but he'd already paid for a passport photo here). The business hours overlap pretty much perfectly with his work schedule, so this was annoying to figure out. That said, Wilshire Shipping Center did right by him and took his photo again without charging for it. He was unfortunately bloated that day after a night of drinking, but while he looks horrible in his new passport photo, the picture quality was good enough to get approved. Anyway, I liked this place and would recommend it if you need to get fingerprinted or send some mail. I think it's fine for passport photos too. I'd just make sure to double-check for image clarity. read more

We stopped by here to get Hubby's passport photo. A specific size was required but the gal over the counter wasn't very accommodating about trimming the size. We also requested for a notarized/certified copy of the original passport. This gal filled out the document via a computer. She literally rushed it through and mistyped the zip code by referencing my Hubby's driver's license. We realized it after we got home, a wasted certified copy :-( I would never return again.
