I considered hosting a party at blending lab in the past & I was under the impression that we blend our own wine. Yesterday I asked the guy behind the counter some questions and he didn't mention this option at all. He said we can taste wine and pay for a glass...I was actually trying to learn more about the business, not the offerings at the opening party . I'm truly invested in putting beautiful West Adam's on the map, I love and purposely made an effort to move into this neighborhood. Maybe next time I'll learn more about what they'll be offering at this new location. They have a cute interior plus a small outdoor area with string lights. I was a bit surprised the glass of wine was $20 which isn't competitive for this area (the area is not nice enough yet) but I know costs are getting high. I do want to support businesses moving into our community but I'd like them to take into consideration that this is still south LA and a lot of people who grew up in this neighborhood isn't a fan of the gentrification and pricing the businesses charge I do feel for them, people like me moving into the neighborhood hasn't helped but even for me I thought it was a bit much. Our very first Six Taste tour was actually the Arts District tour back in 2016, so it was special to return ten years later and experience it again. I entertain a lot, but really enjoy most of my wine with meals. 1855 finds the best 'everyday' table wines that are super inexpensive and super good! But when I need something special, Aaron always delivers an incredible wine. I've ordered everything from Meomi to Dom. 1855 gets it for me cheaper than I'd typically pay and I get it delivered to my door! The lead consultant, Aaron began my membership with doing an inventory of my existing wine cellar (less than 5 cases) and marking the ones ready to drink now, those that should lay down, and those that absolutely need time. He helped set up my storage so all bottles are kept in the best condition and will drink at their best when I open them. I'm looking forward to my next project with 1855 - helping me buy and arrange specialized wine glassware for my home.
