This year, I decided to bring my daughter who turned 1 and I'm just at awe on how some of the teachers I've seen all those years ago are still here... now taking care of my second child. It goes to show how much these teachers love their job at Hand in Hand. Even the director of the school is the same. Ms. Tina is serious about running an amazing and safe school. No matter what the issue may be, we as parents are all informed as soon as she is. Ms. Jessica is her current teacher and I believe she has amazing patience and has taught my daughter so much. She is kind and works with each and every one of her kids to make sure they are happy and learning. I am always so grateful for morning drop offs (my little one doesn't always make it easy when i need to go) and when we get home, she shows me all that she has learned for that day. The other teacher I want to mention is Ms. Becca- she's pretty much my rock haha. She was one of the teachers that has been around my daughter the longest (or so it seems to me). She is able to match the tone of whatever mood mine is in and able to work with her. If she's having a bad day, Ms. Becca seems to always turn it around. I will miss this school once we move on to "big kid school" and will always have respect for these teachers that have helped my daughter grow and learn.

I sent my daughter to Montessori Vision Academy in Las Vegas, where she was enrolled in preschool…read more One day, she came home and told me, "The teacher said, 'I'm done with you,' and then she told me that teacher said "You need to finish this task -- look, your daddy is waiting outside and crying because you're not finishing it.'" Remember, my child is not even four years old. After this incident, she began arranging her toys and yelling at them, saying things like "Stop! Stop!" This behavior was very unusual for her and raised concerns. I reached out to other parents, and some of them said their children had made similar remarks about the same teacher. I requested a meeting with the preschool director and the teacher. During the meeting, the teacher denied everything, saying my daughter is one of the best students and she would never do such a thing. I calmly repeated the same words the director had used in our first meeting: "We need to trust children -- they are not manipulative." That very day, I withdrew my daughter from the school. To all parents reading this: trust your instincts and your kids.

They have become a second family. Mrs Jen and all the teachers have gone above and beyond my wildest dreams of a first school for my child. Mrs Corie has been incredible and from day one my daughter gravitated towards her. We have had Mrs Summer and Mrs Maria for two years now and they couldn't be better. They have been much more than teachers to us. We have gone thru some difficult times and their exact words to me I'll never forget were "we are your family now ".. This isn't just my daughter's school, this is a part of her young life that has helped mold her into a confident, bright and happy child. It's a school full of warmth and so much love. It's such a bittersweet milestone because this place has been such an important part of her life and ours. I actually worked for Miss Jenn when I was in high school over 20 years ago. I knew firsthand that she runs a tight ship and truly cares about providing the best environment for the children in her care. So when I found out I was pregnant, there was never a question about where my baby would go. Over the years, the staff has become so much more than teachers, they've become family. They've celebrated milestones with us, comforted us through tough days, and loved my daughter as if she were one of their own. Knowing she was safe, happy, and genuinely cared for every single day gave me incredible peace of mind. One of the things I love most is how they encourage each child's unique interests. My daughter discovered her love of arts and crafts here( she's currently the captain for the arts and crafts center), and they have always embraced her creativity, giving her opportunities to learn, create, and express herself. Watching her confidence grow has been such a joy. The special events they put together have also created some of our favorite family memories. From the annual Trunk or Treat to the beautiful graduation ceremony, every event is planned with so much care and love. Those are moments I'll cherish forever. From our very first tour with Ms. Brenda, we knew this school checked all the boxes we were looking for. She was reading words at just 3 years old, and the nurturing, structured environment helped her grow in so many ways. Any concerns we had during preschool were addressed promptly, and we always felt confident she was in great hands. However, our experience changed significantly once she transitioned into kindergarten. While the curriculum remains strong and academically focused, the environment felt much more rigid and less joyful. It is very one size fits all. We absolutely value education, but we also want our child to enjoy being a kid--through fun, creativity, and play. Another challenge has been the limited communication. Most interaction is restricted to quick exchanges at drop-off or pick-up, and calls are typically returned when the staff is available. There's little feedback unless you personally call and ask, so it's hard to know how your child is progressing until report cards are sent out. At times, important day-to-day situations involving our daughter weren't communicated to us. Lastly, we didn't always feel the school environment, particularly the front office, was the most welcoming. On a few occasions, I had to initiate conversations after being overlooked which left us feeling more like a number than part of a school community. Overall, the preschool experience was outstanding and gave our daughter a strong academic and social foundation. We're incredibly thankful for that time. Our daughter has developed a love for art thanks to the creative and unique projects led by Ms Mummert. We are grateful for the care and patience to the toddler teachers (Ms. Elysa, & Ms. Kanae, Mrs. Ranieri). My son's teacher is Ms. Flynn - she is SO great (all I would hope for in a teacher for him). He is eager to learn, eager to share with me what he's learning and seems to be ahead of most kids his age with reading, writing & numbers. On top of that, I believe Merryhill has been a big part of his social development.
