of all the reviews I can't believe one person has been half honest or they just have too much money to literally blow on Dr Wong and her ...... if you can't pay $300 for an X-ray for ea one of your dogs then go to somewhere else like seriously, I book the apt for my 3 dogs to get on antibiotics because of how sick they were and the next day rt before their apt the secretary calls and says we can't see them and the fees are $100 ea dog not $78 and no even though the website says $25 off for new clients that's only for if you are referred by someone who already goes here.... although there are two separate promotions and they refuse to acknowledge their own promotions they can all eat shit and I hope they loose all credibility and nothing good comes their way ever again. I took one of my cats in for a wellness visit at the Devon Vet. Hospital shortly after adopting her, we quickly discovered that she was experiencing some dermatological conditions. After spending hundreds of dollars and many months with them trying to determine the true cause or a cure/remedy they came to the conclusion that she had a "food allergy." Not convinced we switched back to her old food (compared to the prescription diet), there were no signs of an allergic reaction. When I told the vet, they still insisted it was the food and gave NO OTHER OPTIONS. At this point, I started looking and asking around about other vets - this is where St. George Hunt comes in. Feeling very hopeless about how to bring comfort to my newly adopted cat, I made an appointment with them before throwing in the towel and going to a feline dermatologist. Since the office was not as "showy" and updated at the previous vet, I will admit I was a little skeptical about the quality of their services - but I gave them a fair shake; and I was SO impressed! After spilling everything that has happened all the tests and trials along with viewing her records they quickly ruled out and confirmed my suspicions that it was NOT a food allergy (if it was truly a food allergy she would have had the same reaction once exposed to her old food again, which she did not). However, they did suggest that I go to a feline dermatologist if she had another incident (at this point she was okay with no reactions), and they helped find one for me in the area. About a month ago, she had another reaction and I took her to the suggested feline dermatologist and we found a way to remedy her reactions. I was so relieved! I personally feel that Devon Vet. Hospital is too money hungry to admit that further consultation is needed in which they cannot provide (like dermatology services). Instead, based off my own experiences, they would rather suck all the money out of you to provide temporary resolutions that mask the true problem. In short, it is 100% evident that St. George Hunt Memorial truly cares about the best interest of the animals and want whats best for them. I would highly recommend them to anyone! They are such saviors! Give them a chance, they are very knowledgeable and provide many many feasible options - there is always more than one. Thank you St. George Hunt Memorial! I have been a client of St George Hunt veterinary practice for 12 years so far; during that time I have, with my cats, seen every one of the doctors listed on their page ( Dr. Davis Diehl, VMD; Dr. Melissa Hoffman, DVM; Dr. Asal Caskey, VMD; Dr. Ilan Cohen, VMD; and Dr. Julianne Grady, VMD ). Every one of these doctors is top-notch, in my experience. They have provided excellent care whenever care has been needed. Given how long this relationship has lasted, it is no surprise that there have been a couple of last-visits as two cats have passed on. The farewell that is ultimately said to every dog or cat is among the very hardest words ever uttered by the human responsible for end-of-life treatment and decisions. I was called and told to come pick my cat up. I needed help due to my disability so my daughter came to help me with the animals. I called outside their office and was put on hold for 4 minutes. I called back because my daughter wasn't doing well and needed to leave. The woman tried to put me on hold again and I said no. I tried to explain but she started screaming at me in front of my daughter. She complained that they were short staffed. Since she would not allow me to speak I hung up. I called back to speak to the manager but was hung up on. I took my daughter home and went back and told them off and demanded they give me my cat. I saw that there were at least 5 people there and yet they were not capable of handling the phones. I spent years working on a 100 line phone system managing hundreds of calls and I never yelled at anyone nor did I cut them off. All this woman had to do was allow me to explain but instead she chose to be a self-righteous nasty person. It was all about her busy phones. She was literally the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. All of this could have been avoided if she had just been polite and allowed me to explain. Well I told them exactly what I thought of them and literally tried to lecture me again. I guess being nasty to people is okay for them but I will never allow anyone to treat me like garbage. Maybe next time they will think twice before they are rude to a customer. They just lost 3 pets as customers today. read more

I was dog-sitting for a friend when the cute little pooch got some burrs stuck in the hair on her face near her eye, and she would not let me get them out because they hurt her. I whisked her off to St. George (with neither she nor I ever having been there before), and they could not have been nicer - they took her very quickly, and in the blink of an eye, they were back with a burr-free pup, and she acted like nothing had ever happened! In general the vets here are good. However, as a doctor for humans, I found they err toward too much testing. As most clients do not understand medicine, they probably do not recognize unnecessary tests. Perhaps I feel that the approach to treating humans and pets is, and should be, different, but I felt I was being bombarded with "essential" tests that could offer no greater insight to my dog's health. We are with another vet now who provides excellent care for my dog, but doesn't run all possible tests, just those that are called for. read more

Regarding the veterinarian practice of St.George Hunt at 405 W. Wayne Avenue in Wayne Pennsylvania, I would like to say that after 12 years of patronage we will not be using them anymore. We had one to four dogs at a time and many thousands of dollars later, we could not get anyone to care enough to assist our eldest dog to meet her maker at her home in a timely fashion. Nor did they call to offer their sympathy or send a card after another vet from another practice came immediately after our call and then informed them of her passing. We signed up with St. George Hunt's office when our neighbor had an aged cat that Mr. Hunt personally came to put down at their home where the cat was most comfortable. Sorrowfully, St. George has passed and I suspect the office has focused more on the business (money making) aspects of their practice. Disappointing read more

I started coming here in December of 2012. I adopted a cat not realizing she had FIV. One day, early on adopting her I called Banfield (my vet at the time) because her breathing was severely labored. They turned me away saying they were too busy. In a panic I found George Hunt Memorial online and they took me in same day never having been there before!!!! That is the day i discovered that she had FIV. they were so comforting about it. They all have been amazing helping me get through various issues regarding the FIV. They ALWAYS take her in same day. Dr. Cohen has been so great with Piper. He has gone above and beyond researching and helping us. The whole staff is great. read more

Two weeks ago our beagle Toby thought it wise to eat a large portion of his favorite blanket which forced emergency surgery. Incredible! My dog was neutered on Tuesday. Milo was in no pain and or lethargic by Wednesday morning. We refer to him as the flying dog. He was back to flying thru the air with the greatest of ease by Thursday morning. You would never know anything was done to him. I have five dogs . I am sorry to say, I used another vet because I didn't know about St. George Hunt Hosp, until I adopted Milo therefor I didn't use St George for my other dogs. I feel terrible for them. Dr. Asal Caskey saved our cat Spiff who had a severely broken leg. Dr. Caskey and the staff provided superb care and support thru the whole process! Making a tough situation at times hopeful again. All the vets here are very nice to my dog. I disagree with PP about testing- I rescued a dog recently so I've been in a LOT and called a LOT and often they've recommended home remedies or watching him instead of bringing him in and running tests. Also brought in a dog for allergy issues and they never once recommended bloodwork, just topicals and food switching. 4 stars because I got some contradictory information from 2 different vets there, which was annoying. Other than that they are great and I recommend them!! read more

Everyone at St. George Hunt was both helpful and friendly on the phone, and in person. We asked to have the appointment moved up, it was no problem. Dr Grady is hands down the best vet I've ever been to. My 15 year old cat has a host of ongoing medical issues, so I have to take him in at least quarterly, often times more frequently than that. Dr Grady knows his history like the back of her hand. She takes her time examining him and more than that, she takes time explaining everything to me and answering all my questions. She is genuinely concerned about the health and well-being of my cat, and that means a lot to me. Recently we were there just for a tech appointment to have some blood drawn. Dr Grady walked past us in the waiting room and came over and sat down with me to find out how he was doing. She even gave him a quick once over. The office is clean and modern. The front desk staff is amazing. They're professional and polite. They remember my cat each time we're there and always say nice things about him. The Thursday evening and Saturday office hours are a blessing, since I work full time during the day. I would highly recommend this office, and especially Dr Grady to anyone. read more

Where to begin..... I recently visited for an annual visit/check up, along with shots, blood test, etc. 1. When in room with technician performing temperature check & general physical evaluations of my pooch, I was asked of our daily dog my food choice. I answered 'Purina Beneful'. The technician was highly alarmed, informing me that ingredients from China were known to have caused deaths among dogs fed Beneful product. Immediately as the 'doctor' entered the room I expressed by concern of this new revelation...... the doctor knew nothing of the matter!! One non-doctor spreading an internet rumor + one doctor not knowing a thing about it placed doubt in my mind of the entire practice. 2. After a few minutes of exam, recommendations of $350.00 teeth cleaning, recommendation of senior dog blood testing exam. the doctor felt she had completed all needed & began to lower the table down to the floor. One small misstep, however.... the doctor had failed to give my little guy two shots that were in order!! Up went the table and then the shots administered. 3. + $230.00 later we walked out the door..... scratching my head a second I returned to the front desk to inquire if I should have received a 'new' 2015 Rabies tag for the dog's collar. Ohhhhhhhh, the crack staff happened to 'forget' about giving me the proper tag..... Giggles, laughs, a big joke for all involved. I walked out the door disgusted, thinking I'd just been conned out of $230.00 and taken for a complete jackass. How I wish every patient/customer would boycott this establishment. I will never return again and I hope many other's on the patient list will do the same for their future annual visits. What a disappointment displayed by the entire staff. read more

We had gone to St George Hunt Vet for nearly nine years. Dr Hunt is no longer there-there simply maintain his name at the practice (he had a very good reputation). We had two dogs in their care. The routine preventive visits were fine. We never raved about service there, but it was certainly adequate and very close to our home. We were beyond disappointed with how they handled our 11-year-old dog when he came to the end of his life. Very similar to another post, they were not responsive at all to our needs when our dog was at the end of his life. When our dog's trachea had collapsed and needed attention immediately, they had called me back about nine hours later. Our dog would've been dead if I waited for a response. I understand the doctor may have been occupied, but surely someone could've returned my call before nine hours. Additionally throughout the weeks that our dog was nearing the end of his life, they did not check in to see how he was doing nor did they even want to see him. They told me, even though they'd seen him for near nine years, that I should just take him to an emergency room facility-even though I was calling them for their opinion if it was time to put him to sleep. I eventually took him to Radnor veterinary hospital. They saw us immediately. And, after almost 9 years of going to St George Hunt, we chose to have Radnor veterinary hospital put our dog to sleep. They were extremely responsive and just absolutely wonderful. They also followed up with a phone call as well as a card afterwords. I've now switched our other dog's medical records to Radnor veterinary hospital. read more

Our miracle dog -- a personality packed Cavalier -- defied all odds. He lived ten years with ailments that would have challenged even the gutsiest pooch. We were lucky to have St George Hunt and his staff doing everything medically possible to keep him going. But, when Dr Hunt passed away a number of years ago, I was afraid I'd need to find a new vet. How could anyone compare? Dr Hunt's wonderful, empathetic wife, Suzi, stayed at the practice..however, what about the all-important veterinarian who'd treat our dog? Turns out, there was nothing to worry about. Joining the practice was Dr. Cohen, who took over, continuing the great care our pup had been given from the start. He's a terrific medical analyst, clearly well trained, and quick to pick up the phone to consult with specialists to get to the bottom of things. But, Dr Cohen not only has great concern for a pet's health: he also treats your animal as if it's the cutest, most lovable, funniest creature he's ever met (which we all know ours is). When our guy lost his battle, a decision we had to make for him, we received the kindest possible note from Dr Cohen days later. He said as hard as our choice was, it was the right one...the most compassionate one we could have made. Those words helped during a heartbreaking time. read more

We love the staff here! Our longtime vet retired and were recommended by a family friend to go here. We ended up seeing Dr. Cohen for our German shepherd for our first visit and we are now clients for life! He was wonderful, caring, and listened to her entire history. Unfortunately, Right after Thanksgiving we had to put her to sleep after she suddenly became ill. At the time I didn't know Dr. Caskey very well but she treated our dog like it was her own and that meant the world to us! She was wonderful helping us make such a difficult decision, laying out all the options. The techs and staff treated the entire situation as sensitive and caring as they could. We were there many hours after the practiced closed to let us make our decision and spend some final moments with our girl. We now have a new puppy and they treat her as if she is just as special to them as she is to us! We brought our two young kids to show them the vet is a good place and Dr. Caskey was wonderful with them! We highly recommend them! read more
