I am a not a fan of dentists and avoid them at all costs, however Dr. Karishma Sheth and the staff are AH-mazing and not only took care of my needs, they turned me into a dental warrior! Every time I go in, I'm greeted by genuine people who truly care... no joke. Dr. Sheth is excellent - patient, non aggressive, meticulous, and dare I add "fun" as well? How can a dentist appointment be FUN? From the fabulous teeth cleaning, exam, and actual work performed, - it's brilliant. I overheard Dr. Elliot talk to his patient too and he seems just as brilliant. This is the best place to go for any dental issue & I'm one appointment away from completing my treatment plan. Went to remake dentures that were quite old.they did excellent job and I am satisfied.

I'm still receiving bills from this place for services they told me there was no charge, and I was in network for. Then, I received a notice in the mail saying my provider was no longer in the network. So, they lied to me, and keep billing me, and just now announced my insurance wasn't in network. Why am I receiving bills if they were in network all this time. read more

On the upside the dental Hygienist was nice and seemed competent. Billing however is a misleading disaster. When they review itemized billing estimates before the actual care, you are given estimates. I do not mind paying a reasonable amount for good maintenance and cleaning, but the insurance estimates are NEVER close. EX: The total charge for a periodontal-maintenance cleaning with all the suggested add-on treatments was nearly $500. they estimated my insurance would cover $260. I was ok with paying this amount. Turns out insurance covered Approx $60. My total bill was approx. $440. I owed them $180 more. This has happened to me 3x. They keep saying they give ESTIMATES and that the insurance company does not tell them what they actually cover. Shame on me at this point. Time to change dentists. Only giving one star because the hygienist who cleaned my teeth was nice enough. This dentist office is extremely misleading with billing. I have dental insurance through my work (which I pay for)- it is a very well known insurance company, nothing random. It covers 2 cleanings a year and 1 x-ray. When I went in for my appointment I was told that it would cost nothing. Almost 4 months later I received a bill for $176. At no point was I informed that this practice is "out of network" for ALL dental plans..... until I called them to inquire about the bill. If I had been informed prior to treatment, I 100% would NEVER have gone there. I feel completely taken advantage of and misled, if not outright lied to. Going to the dentist is already unpleasant enough, this made it worse. I should note that I'm not a new patient, I went there for cleanings prior to having dental insurance. Even more of a reason that I would have assumed they would let me know that they are "out of network". The photo is a screenshot of their website... I was explicitly told that they are not "in network" for any insurance. Either the website or their billing receptionist is flat out lying to patients. Update: I've called the number twice from the generic copy/paste response from the "owner" below (it's not really the owner at all. It's some "dental association".) I haven't been able to speak to anyone. Left two messages. No call back. They just post that to make it seem like they care about reviews. They don't. read more

Let me preface this by saying that the female dentist I saw was excellent. I am giving a one star review as the office staff could use lessons in customer service and billing. This was a workman's comp claim. From the beginning my case worker gave them all the information they needed to bill my comp insurance. To date, I am still receiving bills from them (from July) and after numerous requests from the insurance company for Dr's notes on my service, they have not complied. The book-keeping is poor. Our company's corporate office reached out and has gotten me a new dentist to see for my problem. I am thankful for that. The worst part about all this is that the dentist was fantastic and kind. If the owners of the dental office knew how their office staff treated clients and invoicing and phone answering, all would be replaced. Please re-train the staff. read more

My brittle diabetic granddaughter called for appt, they said they took her insurance, waited a couple months when she needed emergency care, sat down to fill out form only to get called to to the desk saying they don't take her insurance! I've been trying to get in there for around a year now. After waiting a few months they cancelled my appointment because the tech didn't show for work . Made another appointment, waited FIVE MONTHS..and they called that day and canceled because the person didn't show!!! I said this is the second time for this!! I'm not impressed with the quality of service. They seem to not have the expertise you would expect. Their equipment is lacking and the staff is lacking. Their book keeping is sad and the billing seems excessive and when you question them on it they cannot explain their costs. This is perhaps the worst dental service I've ever seen. read more

I rarely do a review, but in this case I can not stay quiet. My First experience was being told I needed teeth deep scaling so I set an appointment. I spent 30 minutes in the chair and it was nothing more than a cleaning with some light scraping. At the cost of $900 for the procedure I spent $1800 an hour for a fancy cleaning. Overcharged? - you do the math. Next came an extraction at the price of $500. Dr Corral pulled it with pliers in about 2 minutes with a local anesthetic. Total time in the chair was not 30 minutes, so another service at about $1000 per hour. Dr Corral did a root canal on a tooth that was not bothering me and now it does. A crown is mandatory after a root canal so that was in the deal. Another $1800 down the drain. I was counseled that I need a tooth transplant, with a cost quote of $3600. Numerous dentists in the area charge half that amount. I think I'll pass. The staff is great and does all the work. Dr Corral only does the actual root canal or tooth extraction. The actual crowns and fillings are done by his staff. To top it off, I have never met such an arrogant professional. Never a hello or have a nice day from Dr C. Every time I was in the chair he was belittling a staff member with another staff member. Astonishing! If you look like working with a very unprofessional dentist, who berates his staff, doesn't fix the problem, and overcharges to the hilt, then Dr Corral is your man. Obviously I'm moving on. PS - He is building his own office up the street on the huge lot next to Ameris bank. Where oh where does the money come from to undertake such an extravagant endeavor? read more

If you read the reviews, you'll see the place used to be great (before 2019 and new building) Now I think the diagnoses are being made by their accountant or maybe the holder of the new building loan. I have been going to this dentist for a couple years now. They have a really good special for new patients for their first visit. If you check in on Yelp the same special is offered. The office is located in a complex with plenty of parking. The place is a bit dated inside and always smells musty to me. The front desk staff are very nice. The dental hygienists I've had there are very good. Especially Carol. I didn't get her my last visit and the girl I got kept saying in a very very loud voice how long it's been since I had my teeth cleaned. Very annoying and embarrassing. No one wants to hear the negative. Instead they should be saying how happy they are I came in. Recently, I had to get crown. The dentist I saw was very good. She gave me a quote before any work was started. She did a very good job and I was very happy with the results. It's a busy place with a few dentist's on staff. If it's an emergency they will try and get you in quickly otherwise you will have a bit of a wait for an appointment. read more

I am so lucky to have found this place! I had jaw pain for months and it got to the point that my jaw got stuck! I was in search for a new dentist, and had been recommended to St. Johns Family Dentistry by a friend before, so I gave them a call. I was having trouble making an appointment that worked with my crazy school/work schedule and was at a loss. Dun da da duuuunn receptionist to the rescue! They either squeezed me in or had a cancelation because they managed to get me in that very next morning! I am beyond thankful for that! My jaw can wreak havoc on my life no more!That whole story was just to say that they are extremely kind and accommodating and they gave me a great first impression. Second impression. Their facility is beautiful and very modern in how the space is arranged. I love that they do more than just teeth cleaning like my previous dentist office. Their technically-advanced clinic offers emergency dental services, teeth whitening, orthodontics, veneers, crowns, dental implants, and sedation dentistry services. They literally have it all!!! I saw Dr. Carrothers. She "patched" invisible cavities instead of filling them. I was going to ask her if she could smooth it out but before I could get the words out she cut me off and said that's as smooth as she could get. So now I have 3-4 teeth that feel like they are dirty all the time. It is very annoying. She manipulated the appointments so that she got paid those little things. The teeth are I went in for her to fix still aren't done but I won't go back to her. A cap she reset last year just came off again this morning. I would not recommend her. read more

I paid $30,000 for a total restoration (every tooth now has a crown) due to damage as a result of grinding. From day one I experienced issues, particularly with my gums. After two years and a dozen or more visits, all of which I was talked down to unlike anything I have ever experienced, Dr. Corral finally acknowledged there was an issue. He attempted to apologize for his lack of professionalism, said he was obtaining executive counseling and told me he would help in any way possible. He said he was now convinced I had an autoimmune disorder similar to another patient and recommended testing, which was negative. He didn't approve of the first test and recommended a different test, which was also negative. He then referred me to a periodontist who recommended crown lengthening and gum grafting. The initial cost just to get started was $5200. By then I was retired and on a fixed income. Corral did not agree with the periodontist and referred me to an oral surgeon. After reviewing my records I received a call from the oral surgeon's office to inform me it would be a waste of money to keep that appointment. They said this was an issue for a periodontist. Since Corral had disputed the periodontist's recommendations I scheduled yet another appointment with him. His parting words to me were "I haven't done anything wrong and if you think otherwise sue me". This wasn't the first time he said this to me, but it was the last. He knew if I couldn't afford a periodontist I likely couldn't afford an attorney. In the meantime my gums are bleeding, receding and simply rotting away... read more

I see there are a lot of not recommended reviews, The office offers you a $25 incentive to write a review, I think that sort of miscues the whole process and the whole reason behind trusting yelp reviews. I have been very pleased with Dr. Michelle's work. She did a full set of veneers , with metal unders because I am a grinder. The cost was about 28k give or take a thousand. The night guard was extra at about 600 but that was a necessary device, just wish that had been rolled into initial quote . The dental hygienist, at least the one I saw was so so... I go somewhere else that I feel does a better job. I've had one encounter with Dr. Anthony when my implant was giving me problems and my doctor was out of town, he wanted to do $1000 worth of surgery and tried to talk me into replacing $7000 worth of implant work done by another doctor... I am happy to report four years later the lousy implants done by the other doctor are strong healthy and did not need to be replaced. A good friend of mine works for the company that makes implants and he was shocked at what Dr Anthony said. I see my periodontist regularly and use his hygentist to clean my teeth. I highly recommend Dr. Michelle for her expertise in veneers ...I've had many compliments from other dentists, and her work is spot on perfect, absolutely perfect. She also has a wonderful personality. .. If the cleanings were better and not just fast in and outs and Dr. Anthony was a little slower to start carving up awesome work by others I would give the office five stars... It really bugs me about the $25 incentive to write a review because no one wants to write a negative review and show it to the business that they wrote the review about. That's my experience ....your mileage may vary....the front desk staff is quite nice and helpful and the technicians in the office have always been fantastic. First time visit yesterday. I was happy with the atmosphere. Clean, bright & cheery. All the employees appear happy to be working there. Which says a lot. They seemed to truly care about my comfort. Very gentle. The initial exam & X-ray were easy and complete. They also offer a wide range of procedures and are done in house, so no having going somewhere else. Dental procedures aren't my favorite!! But when necessary this is the best. Courteous and a safe haven. Ready to assist and Staff is most pleasant. The girls will and answer all inquiries and reply quickly. No surprises with Dr. Corral. I have had an implant and root canal with this guy. He's great, attentive, busier at some times and is straightforward when I'm trying to digest his recommendations. Often not what I wish to hear, but his time is valuable and he needs to move on but gives me the options which are right on and the right people to put fears to rest and give further explanation if needed. After I get my act together he's the one who will quickly take care of me. One of my favorites is I am sedated and that relaxes, and helps with my anxiety This is very important for me. My wife and I were on the island Jan. 2020 for an extended vacation. A filling needed to be replaced and they did an excellent job. Two major complaints. The dental assistant had no formal education as a dental assistant and it showed. Only on the job training. We have excellent Blue Cross insurance with great dental coverage. Were told by the same "dental assistant" that we were covered, so I decided to get a cleaning also. In July of 2020 we get a bill for the full amount. Turns out, they don't take Blue Cross. Their careful and hygienic staff were knowledgeable about any questions I had, and the dentist who diagnosed my problems talked me through all available treatments and pain relief options before starting anything. The extraction itself was remarkably pain free, and I felt very safe in the hands of an expert dentist educated at the venerable Johns Hopkins University. As a healthcare professional I was very disappointed with the care that I received from Saint Johns Family Dentistry. I came to Saint Johns Family Dentistry for a routine cleaning. I have these appointments every six months as suggested. The cleaning went well and I very much enjoyed my hygienist. Dr. Corral then came in and said I had several cavities that needed to be addressed and I made a follow up appointment for treatment. I have very good dental insurance and was asked to pay up front for 50% of my services at this time, which I did. I was not comfortable with this as I am aware that my insurance covered 80% of the work that I was to have done. I was told that this was just the way they do it and they would later reimburse me for the overpayment. I came in to have all of the fillings completed in one day as scheduled by the consultant at the practice. Dr. Corral came in to the room and said that he wouldn't be able to do what was scheduled because it was way too much. I was completely fine with that. The dental work that I received, however, I am severely disappointed with. The dental assistant that was working with Dr. Corral was a new employee and inexperienced. The Dr. left the room on 2 occasions during the procedure to consult with other patients. Each time he did so he would explain to the assistant how to finish what he had started and ask her to finish so he could take care of things. When he finished the procedure he told the assistant to make me another appointment and walked out. I was confused, I wasn't sleeping. I was awake. I am a patient. When I got home from the dental office that day, my husband was home. He was shocked. He said it looked like I had a stroke. And not just from the numbness. I had soft tissue swelling that lasted 2 weeks. The side of my face was bruised for 4 weeks. I was still not able to eat on that side of my mouth. I waited 6 weeks. I was still having pain and not able to chew or floss. I called the office and got in to see another physician. She was very nice and attentive and said that my bite was off and had to drill it down. This was extremely painful. It has now been almost 8 weeks and I am still having issues. I WILL NOT be going back to St. Johns Family Dentistry to have these issues addressed.
