I was transferred to St Augustine, and transferred care from my former dentist to St Augustine Family last year. Dr. Caggiano read my entire folder (I'm no stranger to dental work or dental procedures), even making mention of the note in my chart of my rapid metabolism and the only anesthetic that will work to numb me, and had plenty of it on hand for my first procedure. I knew that I had a prior cavity repair fail twice on my back lower left molar, but I didn't have the time to get it fixed properly. A prior dentist had attempted to repair this and couldn't manage the water from the drill, and it choked me multiple times.(Water in the lungs is not fun) First procedure: Failed cavity repair on a deep tooth way in the back that I had less than favorable experiences with. After discussing options w/ Dr. Caggiano- and my never wanting to get a root canal - we opted to crown the tooth. I'll try it one more time- on my second visit. Dr. Caggiano was very communicative during the procedure and 2 assistants worked diligently to keep the water out of my throat during the drilling with 2 large bore suction hoses running together. Their crown impressions were on point, and the temp crown held for the 2 weeks that we had to wait for the new one to be made. Over a year later, no issues with the crown and just had my semi-annual cleaning. No cavities, no gaps in the crown.

My insurer, United Health Care, says most of the things in the treatment case should be covered. United Dental agent called them but could only leave a message. She said if I don't hear from them I should call and tell them to call United Health Care Dental. I hadn't heard from them so I called. No answer. My current plan will expire at the end of June and I'm afraid the work will not be completed. What is going on over there?

I had a couple cavities that I just got filled 30 minutes ago, I had to run to Yelp to rave about it! Who raves about getting fillings? This was the most pleasant experience a patient could have during this procedure. Dr. Yang is professional, sweet, and his expertise was over-the-top evident. I didn't even feel the Novocaine injections. That takes some skill, because at previous dentists (across the street from them...) it felt like some sort of medieval stabbing and hammering at my teeth and hurt so bad. I didn't feel a THING with Dr. Yang and he drilled and filled two adjacent cavities way back in my mouth. His bedside manner is calming and his assistant was on top of everything and they had a nice rapport together. The place has a nostalgic family feel with state of the art modern tools and equipment. That's the best part about family practices. Couldn't recommend this place more!

I had extensive crown work performed here…read more The crown work was excellent, but they failed to clean the glue used to affix the crowns off my roots, which caused severe infection. They were preoccupied with the business side and not the care side of their practice. I've switched periodontist and am now very satisffied with my new doctor.

We used to go to another clinic (actually I have tried several) and always felt like i was dealing with used car salesmen with constant upsells and un-needed "treatment plans". A while back another clinic told my husband he needed a crown for a sore tooth or otherwise he would need a root canal. We went here (because they were significantly less for a crown than other place) and Dr. David did xray and said, You ALREADY HAD a root canal, it is fine, you just need some sensitive toothpaste, and that took care of. Talk about being honest! My husband is disabled and the staff is always kind and helpful in getting him accomodated and transfered around. Quite happy.

I was told I needed a tooth pulled and then either a permanent bridge or an implant. Dr. Santiago…read moresaid he could do either one. I opted for an implant. So the tooth was pulled and a bone graft was put in its place. I had to wait 6 months before the implant could be installed. 6 months later I went in and was told I needed to have a special xray taken by a different dentist at a cost of $195. When the results of the xray were sent to Dr. Santiago, he told me he would have his receptionist call me the next day and set up an appointment for the implant. The next day the receptionist called and said that Dr. Santiago said I needed to call a certain dentist to have the implant finished. No explanation why even though he had already been paid for some of the work. He didn't have the courtesy to explain to me what the problem was and why he couldn't do it. I don't believe any doctor should treat a patient this way espcially when the cost of the procedure was so high. I would never recommend Dr. Santiago to a friend. EVER.

I have a terrible fear of dentists and have had a tremendous amount of dental work in my lifetime but I have never had such a marvelous experience as I had with Oceanside Endodontics. Not only was the doctor fantastic but her staff was also over the top fabulous. They put you at ease right from the get go. I had a root canal and had not one single bit of pain including the initial shot. I am extremely sensitive to needles and I have to be honest and tell you that I did not feel even the smallest iota of pain from Dr. Tyler. She is a magician and a talented physician and I can not recommend her highly enough.
