They source their organic grain from Maine and New York and distill and age small batches on-site. I did a flight of their bottled-in-bond bourbon, wheated bourbon, and rye, cask strength bourbon, and maple liqueur. I usually like wheated bourbons, but enjoyed their regular bourbon and rye the best. It was an impressive operation with friendly staff. Cathedral is only five years old, so everything had a four year age statement, but they told me they are stashing barrels for older aged whiskeys. They are also looking to expand into single malts. If in the area check them out.

Have a few of their liquors in a flight. The cocktails are made to go, so think about getting those as well. A lot of liquors to choose from. It's not like a bar, so it only has taster samples. Try a flight and sample a few of these. It's 4 of the liquors. Pay $5 to get a flight, and bottles can be $15 or more. Among the choices is the Blueberry Liqueur. Tastes a lot like pancake syrup. Among the more traditional ones, the Maple Whiskey is the best. This is a good use of local products and stuff. For sure go here if wanting to get some of the locally made liquors. It's just the liquors, so no food or anything like that. The flights are the best option if wanting to try a few things.

The woman who was running the shop was very kind and told us all about each of the products. Everything is made from blackcurrants; they have syrups, gelato, preserves, and wines. After looking at the very attractive displays showcasing each product made at the Distillery, my daughter and I opted to share a tasting. We chose the Moroccan Rose and Grapefruit Flavored Vodka to start and I loved the distinct fruity taste without the sugary sweetness. Next was the Maple Gin, which was lovely as well. Our server told us she likes to mix it with muddled blueberries and ginger beer for a refreshing summertime mule, and I agree that does sound delicious. Our third taste was the Bourbon Maple Cream Liquor, which was so delicious, and we finished the tasting with the Maple Cram Liquor, which was smooth, sweet, and went down very easily. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the store - everything was sparkly clean and shining. The layout of the displays was so attractive. We will definitely stop there again on our next trip to VT.

We each did a tasting, the special tasting and the regular, so we got to try almost everything! Our cabinet and fridge got a few new additions with the canned vodka sodas and a single barrel. I highly recommend a stop and a tasting of the Hopped Gin, whether you're a gin drinker or not!! We visited in August 2024.
