While in New Hampshire I was pleasantly surprised by my visit at Cathedral Ledge Distillery. They offer quality products and until researching I had never heard of them before. They source their organic grain from Maine and New York and distill and age small batches on-site. I did a flight of their bottled-in-bond bourbon, wheated bourbon, and rye, cask strength bourbon, and maple liqueur. I usually like wheated bourbons, but enjoyed their regular bourbon and rye the best. It was an impressive operation with friendly staff. Cathedral is only five years old, so everything had a four year age statement, but they told me they are stashing barrels for older aged whiskeys. They are also looking to expand into single malts. This was a fun stop at Cathedral distillery. The super nice gal working on this Friday night was very knowledgeable and fun to engage. The spirit selection is interesting. I found the moonshine bourbon very fiery as it only hits a barrel for 24 hours to be called bourbon. So try the herbal and infused selections, spectacularly tasty was the rested gin, also appreciated the licorice notes on the aquavit, and the fig vodka was smooth and delicate. They make an interesting selection of cocktails as well, but the place got very busy so we enjoyed the .5ox tastes at a reasonable price $2.50 each and headed out. read more

Cool place with a good selection of whiskies gin and vodka. They do flights with five 1/2 oz pours. You can get a flight and one cocktail. Or alternatively you can have two cocktails. Apparently the law here in NH restricts distillers to those limits. Their straight Bourbon was a favorite among those with us. Also they have a vodka based maple syrup liquor that everyone liked. The place is neat and modern with a variety of table sizes for any side group. The staff were nice and helpful. I would recommend trying it out. read more

The bottled in bond bourbon was delicious, maple liqueur was a little lackluster for the tasting, but I'm sure it's great in cocktails. Beautiful facility- all wood and very clean. We sat at the bar and each got a flight of 3 and a mixed cocktail. Both "bartenders" were knowledgeable and patient as we made our choices. We learned a bit more about what we like as they have multiple types of Gin, Bourbon and Vodka. Mixed drinks were delicious. Bought a bottle of ginger infused vodka for making mules at home. There are pre packaged snacks available as well as a few other local product for sale. read more

Stopped by for a tasting yesterday 4/13 about 4:30pm and it started out well. Went to counter and the bartender told us to pick a seat and she brought us over menus and tasting cards to fill out. We filled out our selections and waited for her to come back. After a long wait while watching the bartender hanging out with her bar customers(friends?) I approached the bar as they were leaving and asked if we were supposed to bring our orders to the bar. She responded with a snotty "you can!" I then asked if we could sit at the bar and she proceeded to rudely tell me that we were not allowed to sit down until she had cleaned glasses off the bar, which she didn't seem to be in any hurry to do. This all made us very uncomfortable so we left. Obviously she doesn't want to do anything other than stand behind the bar and chat, which is fine as long as your other customers are not neglected. There were only about 10-12 people in the whole place. I spent many years as a bartender/bar manager and her behavior would not fly at any of the places I've ever worked. read more

There are so many to try and each one if better than the next. You can get tasters or even full cocktails. Absolutely loved our tasting and the knowledge level of the young woman guiding us through the tasting! The fig, maple and bourbon were truly spectacular! Everything in our tastings was good but those really shined!! The maple though!!! Had to buy a bottle of that! For missed drinks I got a chicory maple pecan old fashion-very smooth but the amount was disappointing! My cousin got a Bloody Mary....that was fantastic! So good she bought the mix and some horseradish vodka. We really recommend coming here (book a tour too!) and enjoying their creations. read more

We stopped in here for a tasting and the tour and had a great time! Their maple liqueur is amazing and we ended up taking home two bottles! I also got the blueberry vodka lemonade cocktail and damn, that's dangerous because I could down a pitcher of that and end up in a lot of trouble and not even realize it was alcoholic! The tour was $5 per person and we enjoyed learning about the distilling process. It was well worth the time. The ambiance of their distillery is wonderful with the smells of the ground grains and the wood finish. I could spend all day here. read more

I both love (and hate) to write this rave review because I want to keep this lovely distillery to myself. But the point of Yelp is to share, so here goes... I LOVE THIS PLACE and their organic products! Their commitment to the environment, sustainability, and quality of products is far superior to competitors. The fact that everything is organic is important. The care they take in creating their spirits is evident in everything we tasted (which was nearly the whole lineup between the two of us). The prices are very reasonable for what you get. We took home bottles of the gin, horseradish vodka, and the aquavit, but easily could have bought one of everything. The rest of the tasting room is so well curated. From bitters to Miir vessels to apparel, the businesses Cathedral Ledge chose to partner with have values similar to their own. Loved seeing some of my favorite brands that don the distillery name and enjoyed finding news companies to try out. Wish we were closer so that we could visit more often. Can't wait to go back! read more

Spent our Anniversary in New Hampshire and found this distillery in the bustling town of North Conway. It's a beautiful place with a good amount of seating. We sat at the bar and while we were there the place filled to capacity. It's dog-friendly and we met a 12-week old puppy named Mac who was living his best life with all the attention he received! Hubby got a flight of spirits-mostly infused vodkas. Our favorites were the maple liqueur, horseradish vodka, and cucumber mint vodka. I had the blueberry lemonade which was also good. Pretty new distillery in the area. We spoke with the bar tenders a bit and they mentioned the tasting space has been open for about a year now. You can order a tasting flight of any 5 liquors AND they have cocktails they can serve you. They do have VERY limited food available, but its crackers, pretzels, hummus, just basic snack foods. My husband and I each got a cocktail and split a flight of liquors. My cocktail was the fig mule and it was DELICIOUS! Not too sweet and not too strong but you could still taste the different flavors interacting. My husband got the orange dream which was meh, too much club soda in it in my opinion. The tasting flight of 5 maybe combines to an ounce or an ounce and half tops. It is really designed to get sips and not necessarily get drunk from tasting 5 liquors. My favorites were the gin and the maple liquer and we ended up buying bottles of both to bring home with us. read more

Stopped in on our trip to North Conway. We were able to walk right in and were greeted by the amazing staff. They invited us to sit at the beautiful granite bar and reviewed all their options. We were able to sample all 8 because we shared between the two of us. All were amazing. We ended up going home with the gin, and 2 infused vodkas. Really cool experience was looking for a local beverage in which to purchase to bring home as we are away on vacation they make the spirits right in the back room if you want you can sit in the front room and do a flight Which is try five different samples of their different spirits at $2.50 a sample. Or even with the back room watch it being made etc. and then purchases to go the person doing the spirit flight was very informative explained everything about the different liquors if they sold it was one of my favorite parts of the trip as we are on vacation they are very very friendly definitely will go back there again to try something different. read more

We booked a tour for a group of six, and the tour guide (and owner, I believe) was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about organic spirits. We all learned a lot and really enjoyed it. The tasting offered something for everyone, from flights to cocktails to non-alcoholic options. There's also a nice gift shop. A visit here is a great way to spend a couple of hours. read more

Drove by last year and finally made the stop this year, and we're glad we did. We were the first ones in as they opened and we were greeted right away. The young woman who took care of us was great, she was very personable and friendly, told us all about the business and answered all our questions. They do tours for 10$ for a group up to 8, we promised to come back soon for one. I know nothing about liquor, but my partner really enjoyed his flight. They do have a limit to how much you can drink, but it's reasonable. Everything they offer is local and organic (all alcohol made on sight). We highly recommend and we will be back, and bringing friends to try it! read more

Stopped by while driving through North Conway as the building is beautiful and caught my eye. Staff was very friendly and the vibe is cool but I can't say I will recommend this to friends or be back. Upon arrival we were asked if we were there for a tasting, quickly seated and told to pick up to five spirits. I guess we were naive as there was no menu so I was assuming the five was the only option (and I had no idea of the cost). The price isn't outrageous ($12.50 for 5, although apparently you can just do any amount up to 5 at $2.50 each). My biggest disappointment was in the taste and quality of the spirits. They don't specialize offering whiskey, gin, vodka and liqueur. The sprits were really poor quality- I actually got those alcohol shivers after the smallest sip of each of the spirits and the scent alone took my right back to college (and not in a good way). For reference, I enjoy spirits with some of my favorites including grey goose, Belvedere, the Balvenie and makers mark. If your go-to spirit brands are among that tier, I recommend skipping this stop. It's a cool spot so I hope they adapt and make it, but I won't be rushing back for now. read more

Went in for a tasting this afternoon. Was greeted by ( sorry forgot her name) She was so friendly and knowledgeable. They had Gin, Vodka, Infused Vodka and Whiskey. The one I did not ask for in my tastings, my wife tried...Horseradish infused Vodka. I thought it sounded different, probably would love it in a Bloody Mary. So, I took a sip ( actually the rest of her sample) honestly...delicious! Who would a thunk! I will be telling everyone about it!! Lesson learned for me, try it, try everything!!! Went in with a group and unfortunately was just not a great experience or tasting. We were initially welcomed with a friendly face and had our name put on a list. We looked through the merch while we waited and then once we sat we were forgotten. The space itself is absolutely beautiful, it's really cool to see the distilling equipment while you taste. It was about 4 when we arrived, being our first time we waited a little but after about 20 minutes we went up and asked if we were able to get some water while we waited and we had our tasting sheets ready. Someone then came over and took our sheets rather abruptly and poured waters to a few of us and left and didn't come back to for the last couple at the table. We then waited about another 30 minutes for the tastings/flights, and finally some more water from a different bartender/server who was much more pleasant. Unfortunately none of the spirits were a match for the group and we weren't feeling as welcome, so I went up and paid for the group with one card. The original server was helping the young lady check us out on the computer, I tipped and told i was all set with no receipt, I didn't think much of it and just went back to the group to leave. A few in our group liked the shirts so they went to purchase. The original server at the computer went on to attempt to refuse the transaction because they hadn't paid for the tastings or a tour (which we didn't take nor offered/told about) and they had also not given me a receipt for any proof of the tasting purchase. Everyone is entitled to a bad day, but there was no attempt to redeem the experience at any point, no "sorry for the wait" etc. We really wanted to like the place but most likely won't be part of the plans if we return. read more
