He had viewed my CT scans online when I was in the ER, so he knew my case. He examined, then presented the options and his recommendation. And we were on our way. Today he fixed my orbital blowout (yeah, that's what they call it) at Missouri Baptist Medical Center. Dr. Rosenblum came to see me prior to surgery, and not a lot of surgeons do that. A fabulous personal touch. He was friendly, yet all business and entirely professional. He came in saying, "You look great with your broken face," which was a helpful ice-"breaker"!! He reviewed all my pre-op tests results thoroughly along with my whole "chart," was upbeat, and inspired optimism and great trust in his skills. After surgery, he met and talked with my friend who escorted me to Missouri Baptist Medical Center (friend or family for the driving situation is required), and gave her all the particulars, spending a good piece of time to explain everything. Kudos for that!! All-around, a top-notch, first-class physician and surgeon!

As I wanted to be seen to have my ears cleaned, I thought it would be easy. The website was a no go, as the staff would have seen me in a week. So I dropped in or walked in as they now allow. The walk in process ended up taking about 60 minutes. Not terrible, but not exactly as expected. As I will be traveling and not back in town for a while, I wanted to get this done. Showed up early to fill out the paper work then it was a waiting game. Finally after 2 hours, I said something - funny how once I complained it was my turn suddenly. After a 2 hr wait, the appointment took 5 min and I was informed that there had been an emergency the day before so those people were being prioritized into the schedule with the people who actually had set appointments. I recommend that if that happens again, you call and reschedule people instead of making them wait 2 hours. Needless to say I won't be back.

He handed him a rx for 10 pain pills and stated "I've done over 500 surgeries and never had to give anyone stronger pain meds" then he very cocky like walked out. Needless to say my husband will not even go back for his follow up he just has lived with the still continuing pain in his ear. After a brief office visit with Dr. Hardemann he ordered an MRI which was performed at Mercy Hospital. there were delays in getting the order to the hospital due to, "them not being in their network". After the MRI was finally done, I received the results from Mercy Hospital 2 days later. I don't understand all of the results and have been waiting for Dr. Hardeman or someone from his office to call me back to discuss them. I have called Gateway ENT a number of times but cannot get any information. Very poor followup.

How did I end up here?…read more Having dinner with some associates, I was eating as I normally do yet one person noticed my eating habits and asked me what was wrong. My response... Oh my tongue just feels a little funny so I'm taking a break. Immediately, everyone at the table was in shock and said I must be allergic because you shouldn't have to "take a break" from food. Well heck I've been "taking breaks" for years and I've always taken allergy pills over the counter but thought that was normal. At the behest of a concerned colleagues and family, I went ahead and made what I thought was an unneeded appointment here. What's so funny is three people who do not know each other whatsoever all recommended I go see Dr. Ruiz. That's not just a coincidence but a cosmic sign of intervention that was needed and this was where I need to be. I'll jump right to it ... the staff was ultra-courteous and professional. Dr. Ruiz was so nice and explained everything. I told him about my symptoms and things that were going on. He explained the how, what, when and why then we went on with the tests. When it was time for test kit for allergies wow I had things going off like fireworks! Great news, I am not allergic to any foods. The swelling I've been feeling in my tongue and the change in body temperature was only my body overreacting thinking it was one thing yet it wasn't. Dr. Ruiz said that was the only way I was able to take a break and go back and if I were truly allergic there would be no returning to that food and I probably would've passed out a long time ago. I'm of a certain age where I wasn't affected by the peanut allergy so I'm safe. Allergy testing is not just for kids. Don't be like me and suffer in silence, go see someone to make your daily interactions with the environment much more pleasant; and you won't have people at the dinner table staring at you with looks of wonder.
