This salon is close to where I live and I used to go there before. I liked their quiet place and massage I received there. The reason I stopped going there: nail polish was not spread evenly. Today I needed pedi and I was in a rush, so I thought maybe they fixed it and went to the salon out of convenience again. They were understaffed, the girl took me in nicely, gave a few good advices, but then the process was rushed (I did not mind it as I myself was in a rush, but if I would come there to relax, that would be an issue). In the end a new client came in and the girl was spreading nail polish on my big toes. As salon is very dark, I just had a feeling it was done poorly, but when I came home: OMG!!!! All these bumps! Seriously? Who does it??? Probably the girl thought that she does not need to try for 50+ lady, well, it was my costly mistake. The whole thing cost as my regular pedi in DC (which already includes callus removal, scrub with massage, towels, lotion with long massage without gloves) + a gel manicure. I entertained the idea of going back and asking them to fix it, but then thought - what is the point? I will receive negative vibe, plus the very reason they did it - means they do not care. Why would they care all of a sudden? Will be scheduling with DC lady so she could remove this mess and do what she does. Never again! read more

Sitting in the pedicure chair now, it's so nice and calm in here! Very nice setting and very nice staff from what I have seen so far. As soon as I'm done treating myself to this pedicure I will upload a picture of the finished product! Bonus points that House Hunters is on, love that show lol! Revel in this, friends, as I just spent the last 10 minutes hovering between 2 and 3 starts, so let's settle at 2.5. ST Nails embodies the long-lived cliche of being pretty with a crappy personality, or absolutely fantastic but down-right fugly. ST Nails is the former. I came here around 2 PM with a friend to get our nails done for some upcoming festivities. Her butt was parked in a chair right away to get her pedi started, I waited about 10 minutes for a girl to start my manicure, which is fine. However, the girl who did my nails spoke so softly my ear was practically pressed against her damn mouth. Fine--it was a nice break from the usual, "do you have a boyfriend? What does he do? Are you going to marry him? Does he make good money?," but (prepare for first world problems), the hand massage for BOTH hands lasted a whopping minute! Oh, the humanity. But alas, that wasn't the worst part. The worst part lies in 6 of my 10 fingers that all have gaps in the color on the sides of my nails. Really, really underwhelming, my silent nail artist. Oh yeah, and my nails look like trapezoids. My friend did get a lady who was nicer, more chatty, and did a much better job. On the upside, a regular manicure was only $15. read more

My new favorite nail spot. Emergency nail repair from the horrible job Hollywood Nails did, was so beautiful. There was attention to detail and consideration for what I wanted out of the experience. Great ambiance. They even gave me a customer loyalty card. The shop seemed very busy, and a lot of people called ahead, so I was grateful that the owner saw the predicament I was in and took care of me right then and there. Pretty clean, low traffic, and unassuming locale. Staff are friendly and attentive. They really take the time to rub your tired, sore soles to a point that you just feel as if you want to fall asleep in the soothing and vibrating massage chairs. Decent job with painting, but not much cuticle cutting or care. Lots of colors to choose from; there probably isn't a color that they don't have. All in all, would come back again. read more

Been here quite a few times as a walk-in and the service is always fast. They have a ton of colors and they open up a new nail care kit for you. The nail techs don't really try to shoot the breeze with you, which I like. A regular manicure holds up for a few weeks. Prices are very fair. This place gets you're pretty in and out quickly which I also like in a manicure. Solid 5 stars. read more

Walked in for a pedicure. It's great if you're in a hurry and don't have time for a full blown pedicure but I was looking for the whole nine ya know a nice scrub with that gritty stuff some hot towels a masque nope. I got callus removed (for extra $5 of course) lotion that isn't even completely rubbed in and the tech who did mine is already on to the next one and I got polished. They look better then they did when I came in but I'm very disappointed. My idea of a decent 45 minute process was just turned into a quick 20 minute process. Won't be returning unless I'm short on time and basically need my toes painted after they soak. read more

Not bad and not good. Very average. Being new to the Kentlands, I initially tried the place across the street, which was very lively, and I would have had to wait 15-20 minutes. I knew there were several other salons in the immediate area, so I just walked across the street. ST Nail & Spa had one client inside, and the remaining chairs were empty. Limited nail colors available, I almost walked out before we got started. The experience was ok....no offer of water, no leg massage and very little communication. She nipped me a few times which was painful, but I did not see blood drawn. I am used to an occasional speck of pain during nail jobs, so I did not react. The fee for a mani/pedi was $47 which I thought a tad high for this service. Oh, yea, there were 2 TVs in this salon....both had on soccer games. Really? haha. It seems as if the male working there had the remote control. Probably not heading back any time soon, unless all the other salons are booked. read more

I was driving through and saw this salon on Main Street. I walked in hoping someone was available for a fill and polish. Amber said, "let's go". I told her I wanted a certain shape and she hooked me up! She made sure to clean up any lifting, reshaped them and polish was perfect. I've never heard of this salon but I'm so glad I found it. I also noticed there were 2 other nail salons right across the street, but ST will be my new salon. Go see Amber! read more

I picked this place because of Yelp reviews but I wasn't particularly impressed or disappointed. I came here for a pedicure with an appointment and was seated right away. There was a wide selection of colors that I was able to pick from. The girl I had did a decent job and she was very sweet but she was too gentle. My friend said her girl was too gentle during the massage as well. My pedicure isn't the best but I just needed something quick and easy. A pedicure is $30 which is more than i'd normally pay at my salon that is nicer and cleaner. I won't be coming back but if you need a quick pedi this is the place to be! All the staff were really nice. read more

Eh. Still looking for a favorite nail salon in the area - this isn't it. The chairs are nice, and the salon is pleasant enough. My nails look fine. My feet aren't terrible to begin with, and my heels can usually be scrubbed perfectly smooth, but they didn't try very hard and they're still a bit rough. No leg scrub. No foot or leg massage - they applied lotion, but very gently. I had to ask several times for the nails to be cut shorter. The whole thing was very quick. For $30 I expect better. It wasn't awful, but I'm not planning on coming back. read more

Came here after I was turned away from another salon on the same street. Very nice atmosphere. I don't know anyone's name but a guy did my pedicure. One lady did my gel manicure. They both did good jobs, although the lady did make my thumb bleed. I liked that you can add the tip to the credit card. I would return if I was ever in the area. Recently I was reminded that, sadly, Eric only offers his superb pedicure skills on the weekends. For a young guy, maybe still in high school as I recall and the reason for the weekends, what a fantastic massage I received during my pedicure. So quiet, peaceful and relaxing... Oh, my... If she has an opening, I plan on seeing Amber tomorrow for my first manicure at this location. I also have had the experience in the neighborhood of being turned away or told I could be taken in a time frame that obviously was not realistic. Plus that, blade type instruments still seem to be used even tho I thought they had been banned by law. The 3 stars will more than likely upgrade to a 4 after I have experienced more than one visit and service at S & T. The attention to detail, facility cleanliness and customer care is greatly appreciated and refreshing. I hope that does not change after I am a regular customer. D read more

Definitely don't go for a Brazilian wax! I went today after I bought a LivingSocial deal. I've never written a review online, but thought it necessary to share my experience so others wouldn't have to suffer. I went to the salon and it seemed nice enough. When I went to the room to get changed, it didn't look very sterile. The woman had me lay down with my head on what appeared to be a decorative pillow that you'd find on a couch. No cover to change between clients. She then started to trim my hair with giant scissors that you'd find on the desk in your office. She got the wax stuck and couldn't remove it. After trying over and over (read: very painful) she finally stepped out and got another woman to take over. It took forever and was not professional. I don't know if they just started offering waxes or if these people were new, but it was not pleasant. I can't say what their other services are like, but I would not recommend them for a wax. read more
