Honestly, happy is an understatement. After years of frequenting another nail salon, I took a chance on MiniSpa with the recommendation of my friend. First of all, they accommodated us and stayed a bit later than they probably would have liked to seeing as we came in at 5pm. That in itself feels like going above and beyond. I will admit, I was a bit nervous at first because my tech was a little unfriendly at first but warmed up after a bit. Regardless, she killed it! This is the first time I can say I have gone to a nail salon and walked out with ZERO cut cuticles. No other salon can say that because I leave with at least one cuticle bleeding.. Every. Single. I came into the spa today to inquire about getting a dip manicure. I was entering as a new customer and was looking for a new spa as the woman I had gone to for years had left. The woman who met me at the desk, said someone could take me right away. I then asked if she could make sure that whoever it was very good, because I was having problems with the current dip manicure that I had from another spa. I was very polite in the way I asked and did not have a tone in my voice. She immediately changed her tone and became angry. She said to me if you don't trust us then we can't help you today. You will have to make an appointment for some other time. I am not sure if that meant that she didn't have anyone who was good at a dip manicure at that particular time, or if she was just being extremely rude because I asked the question. I felt very upset when I walked away because I was excited by the look of the place and thought it might be a great place to come for regular manicures. I don't know if I will ever visit this place again because I felt so turned off by the way I was treated at the front desk. I felt chastised for asking for someone who was skilled at what I was looking for. read more

I've been coming here for a year and a half and have always been happy with the service. My nails look great and the salon is clean, stylish, quiet, and they play soft music. My schedule varies, but I can usually get a same-day appointment during the week. As I was checking out today, I said that I appreciate how friendly everyone is to me and that Tina is always smiling. She and Jenny laughed and explained that they had recently been called rude in a Yelp review. I'm sorry to hear this. I wasn't there for the event and I recognize that everyone can have a bad day and/or have troubling things going on in their lives, customers and staff alike. I did read the review and wanted to provide an alternative perspective on my own initiative. My personal experience with Jenny is that she focuses on her work which I appreciate and is friendly when you get to know her. If you want someone more chatty, I'd recommend Nathalie who works Wednesdays. The rest of the staff appears competent and the customers seem satisfied. read more

Terrible Service, Zero Customer Service, Rude unprofessional staff almost everyone there but especially Jenny. Jenny was abrasive from the get go, rough, abrasive when asked a question. She assumed I had booked one kind of service and did not like that I corrected her about what I really wanted. Then got really rough and smudged my polish several times but did not like being told she should check it. I left after the pedi even though I was there for a mani pedi and when I was leaving she said "go and don't ever come back here"! Such audacity! Don't ever go there and more over don't ever go to Jenny. I will be lodging a complaint against this business. Oh so now you apologise and lie at the same time Tina (owner). You accuse me of refusing to sign your receipt that's insult over injury I was unsure as most merchants don't need signatures these days so I politely asked. Given the service I should have refused payment. This is a terrible terrible business run by terrible people. Folks stay away. I am going to complain to the BBB to review your license on grounds of mis treatment of clients and lying to cover your behaviour. Accusing clients of things that are untrue! And if you look at the reviews Tina (owner) half of the folks say the same thing very rude. Someone need to take serious action against this ill treatment of clients that come in and support your business, This is a dishonest business from Tina owner down to staff especially Jenny. Don't waste your time and money here. I have a complaint logged against them for dis respectful behaviour toward clients. read more

Nice ambiance and warm vibe was certainly welcoming at first, but the staff... not so much. No body greeted me, I had to go out of my way to get myself situated. While I actually prefer a quiet nail service, this technician was poking my hands as a form of communications to instruct me what to do next. I might be biased due to this one particular experience, but she gave off such an unwelcoming vibe, i know I won't be returning again. I got a Groupon for gel manicure and as I walked in this lady came up to me with an angry face and she said "what do you want". First of all, girl, you do not talk to a customer like that. Anyway, I explained that I had a groupon and she just snatched my phone out of my hand!! She was frowning the entire time as if I was the one disrespecting her and when she pushed my hand to put in the UV light dryer she pushed my thumb to the wall of it and chipped my polish and then gave me attitude for it. I was looking for a nail salon closer to my house and thought I had found it here. The first time (pedicure & gel manicure) was terrific. Then I started noticing that the pedicures would chip much sooner than they should. I also noticed that the polish seems diluted, i.e. when the first coat is applied it is thin and looks watered down. The gel manicure also starts to gap (gel pulls away from the nail tip) after a week. It is clean and pleasant, that's why two stars, but I'll be going back to my regular place as the quality of the service is poor. read more

The first time I called I wanted to see if there was an availability for my daughter and the man over the phone yelled at me extremely rudely with an attitude saying there was no free spots. Plus when I called a few minutes later to cancel my appointment and pointing out the poor customer service I have received she hung up on me! I will not be coming here again. read more

Wonderful new spa/nail salon next to Safeway (a little hidden). I followed Linh here from Mirage nails because he's the best. He's been doing my nails for about 5 years now and my gel manicures always last at least 3 weeks. He's very detailed and takes his time. Always well taken care of. They have a HUGE selection of nail polish, which I love. Decor has a chic and upscale look compared to typical nail salons and super clean! Look forward to trying other services. read more

I decided to buy a Groupon since it's relatively close to my home and I normally go out to Germantown from Potomac.. Although the atmosphere was nice, that's where it ended. The Groupon was for a Gel Manicure. I made an appt expecting a gel manicure. However, the groupon ( for a $37 service) was for a gel polish manicure. I assumed for that price it was for gel powder ( I needed a gel fill). Even though they didn't use accurate wording on their Groupon, I was willing to pay an add'l $8 for the gel fill, which is the difference they charge. on their price list. They refused The owner/manager was rather rude and so was a manicurist. She was literally pointing her finger in my face. I told her that wasn't necessary and eventually walked out. I will stick with V.T. Nails in Germantown, which is a little farther away and far better, more reasonable, and friendlier. read more

This is such a great, new nail salon! It is clean, a very open and peaceful space and my tech was amazing. I had a gentleman do my nails and he was meticulous and very pleasant. They have more colors to choose from than any other salon I have been to. I also got a brow wax in which I am very happy with. Let me start by saying this is one of the cleaner nail salons I've been to in a long time. I had Sarah S. and she was absolutely a joy. She didnt try to upsell me anything or pressure me into a polish color or a service I didnt need. Im glad she was honest and up front when she recommended an alternate color similar to the one I picked looked better with my skin complexion. I hardly call that pressuring. The prices are a little more than I would usually pay, but they're worth it when you're being given the level of service Sarah provides. I got a mani and a pedi and my pedi still looks amazing even though I'm very rough on my feet. My nails I just did clear since Im taking a break with the Gel. Ive gone to her twice now and the first time I had gel and man she made it last almost 3 WEEKS!!! Idk how she did it but damn usually my gel starts to peel after about a week and a half. I like to get the almond shape nails and she has that on point !!! I wont be going anywhere else or to a different nail tech. I know a great nail tech when I see one. Spa manager/owner Brian is very irresponsible and disrespectful. He would not let me know if he could honor my request after calling him 3 times. He would keep saying I have talk to the technicians to let me know. On the 3rd time he hanged up and then he didn't answer. There are many other better spas in the area. I went there because of their Groupon and one of their technicians Bee is really good with designs. I would not recommend them at all due to the rude and obnoxious behavior of Brian. This is no way to treat a customer who is trying to become their regular customers. read more

The ladies are all talented and did a super job of manicure, pedicure and waxing. We brought a whole group to get ready for a wedding and all of us were thrilled with the service. I had a groupon and thought that I would re-try the spa. It has a nice atmosphere and ambiance. I had been for a pedicure when they first opened and they were not familiar with filling the basins and I got sprayed (a real bath) with water on a cold day. No one apologized, compensated or added to the pedicure. I decided to try the gel manicure with a groupon. while the staff is not overly friendly, the manicure was exceptional. We go there 5 minutes early and were told she thought we said 3:30 but we called after 3:30 so that is not true. She had an attitude problem as soon as we walked in. We waited until 4:35. I asked how long the wait was going to be and I got an attitude once again and was told she was the only one available but she was going someone else's nails. I walked in here randomly on a Monday based off of Yelp reviews because I was in desperate need of a pedicure. So I walk in & I'm greeted by a man (who I later found out was the owner) and he told me that I could get taken care of soon & that I should pick a color. The main reason I'm giving 4 stars is because the owner sat me down in a pedicure chair & had me wait for 30+ minutes. Thirty minutes. My water got cold, twice. Which thankfully he was able to add hot water too . Finally, my nail tech gets to me & she was amazing. She also informed me that she thought her boss would 'do my pedicure but instead just left me' yeah girl, me too. But other than being kept waiting, this place is great & I'll totally come back for a pedicure, but I won't be walking in without an appointment. They have a great color selection and their pedicure area is so cute & they put covers over the pedicure bowl (++++++!!!!!!) I LOVE when salons do that. Yes they are a little more expensive than other places in the area. HOWEVER they also are better. I've had three different ladies do my manicure and each one lasted longer than any other place I've been to. This is officially my new go-to place. read more
