Structurally, the church itself is spacious, beautiful, and modern. As for the services, I enjoy listening to invited priests or deacons giving homilies that have personality due to their sharing of personal experiences. The congregation is a mixture of ages and nationalities; plus, the once a month children's mass is delightful and good for any soul to witness. Oh... and their annual German fest is always a barrel of fun! If you are seeking a parish to attend, open the doors to St. Alphonsus Church - where the casual and classy crowd worship with no judgments.

It has been an incredible experience for our family. St. Raymond is a truly special community. The traditions, strong academics, and genuine care from the teachers and staff make it stand out in every way. The curriculum is both challenging and engaging, encouraging students to think critically, stay curious, and take pride in their work. Teachers provide individualized attention and support, ensuring that each child is both challenged and confident in their learning. We have seen our boys grow tremendously in their academic skills, as well as in their independence and love of learning. Longstanding events like Breakfast with Santa, the Back-to-School Bash in the fall, and the basketball tournaments--where the entire community comes together to cheer on the eighth graders--highlight the strong sense of connection and school spirit. It truly feels like a second home for our children. What makes St. Raymond even more meaningful to our family is its strong foundation in Catholic faith and values. Our boys are growing not only academically, but spiritually as well. Through religion class, daily prayer, and attending Mass, they are developing a deeper understanding of their faith and how to live it out each day. The teachers play an important role in this, guiding them to become kind, compassionate, and respectful individuals. The school also does an excellent job of helping students develop a strong moral compass--teaching them to lead with empathy, make thoughtful choices, and live their faith in everyday life. In addition, the school organizes many service opportunities throughout the year, such as collecting supplies for local veterans, gathering canned goods for the food pantry, and hosting toy drives for children in need. Older students are often given leadership roles in these efforts, helping foster a sense of responsibility and commitment to giving back to the community. What sets this school apart most is the heart of its people. The teachers go above and beyond--not only in the classroom, but in how they support and care for each child. Whether it's attending students' sporting events or sending postcards from their vacations, these small but meaningful gestures speak volumes. Not only have our boys made wonderful friends at St. Raymond, but my husband and I have as well. The parent community is welcoming, down-to-earth, and supportive. We are truly grateful to be part of such a special village. We feel incredibly fortunate to be part of a school where our boys are growing academically, emotionally, and in their faith. Right at School runs organized activities, has counselors that engage with the students and have never just given up trying to help children. If you have a choice, I highly recommend avoiding Christian Care.

She's tenured and they cannot fire her. She repeatedly yells at my daughter and berates her. Today she saw my daughter showing another student a drawing, she snatched it out of her hand, crumpled it up and left her in tears until the end of the day. She intentionally humiliated her and left her in tears over showing her friend a drawing. I wish I could say this is all that happened but I've had other parents coming up to me questioning me why their own kids are telling them how mean she is to my daughter. DO NOT send your kid to fourth grade here. Mrs. Allor is her name and she should not be teaching children. My name is Jason Pierce. I love the rest of the staff here, from pre through 8th they have great teachers. I personally do not understand why this woman is working with children.

He really loved it and wants to go back we are pretty happy! There is favoritism, bullying, incompetence and double standards. I will also mention the Technology teacher and the Spanish teacher who are very incompetent in their teaching skills and dealing with children. This administration utilizes a dojo system for the junior high students (teenagers), a system that other schools in the area used in kindergarten. They penalize kids with negative dojo points for anything, depending on what the teacher feels on that day: It starts with basic needs such as drinking water in class, needing to go to the bathroom, uncharged Chromebook, even trying to ask questions in class if the teacher doesn't know the answer, doesn't feel like answering the question or doesn't like your kid, then dojos are generously given, even 2-3 from same teacher on same period, really anything is a go for students to receive negative dojos (5 dojos=demerits). Teenagers cant develop/express properly at St. Walter School. The son of the Dean of Students that just graduated in May was one of the 8th grade boys that bullied kids but there were no consequences for him, obviously. St Walter school administration is looking to "educate" an army of minions and not leaders of the future. Unless you are one of the major donors or related to the administration, expect that your child will be bullied/neglected/humiliated and nothing will be done about it. Do your research carefully before you decide to send your child at St. Walter/Roselle for as long as the current administration remains.
