Stopped by the plaza between my son's basketball games. While my son enjoyed a slice I picked up an apple pound cake and some pecan butter tarts to take home. The cake was really delicious with a decent amount of apple chunks and a nice cinnamon flavour. The butter tarts were excellent too. I can't remember the last time I bought butter tarts but the square shape of the tarts here caught my eye. They weren't overly sweet (although they were butter tarts so they were pretty sweet) and had a nice subtle maple flavour. Very good! read more

I have been coming to this location for over 20 years, but since it is far from me, it's always for a special occasion. Well worth visiting if you happen to be in the area. First time visiting this bakery to pick up some pastries for a friend. There is a lot going on when you first enter and I wasn't sure what their system was to order, but turns out, you order from the different stations from different people, and they'll collect it at cash to check out everything at once. The pastry selection looked good, but disappointingly, most things were not labeled, and there were no prices to be found. We then ordered some lunch, and we ordered their steak focaccia but received chicken instead. We also ordered their $13.99 chicken sandwich on their menu, but it didn't mention that toppings were extra, or I didn't notice. I chose three toppings, and the sandwich became $18.49+tax. They also didn't offer sauce, which was a miss for me. The food was okay overall, the major standout was the bread used for the sandwiches, delicious. I'm a huge fan of family run bakeries. St.Phillips Bakery is one of those generational bakeries, and Italian. I recently received one of their cakes as a gift and it was beyond delicious. The ingredients tasted so fresh and the presentation was amazing. So on a Saturday, I headed over to the Woodbridge location (about 57 minutes of a drive). I was actually surprised that there was no line. I walked in and it's a typical bakery set up. Spots for dining in (which I thought was weird given covid) and there was a deli section, cakes and cookies, and hot food section. I ordered a deli sandwich which was pretty sad, barley any meat. The pasties were pretty decent. Now the reason they get 3 stars is the service and organization. The lady who served me pastries was so rude and I wasn't impressed by any of the service. I ordered a cake for my dad's 65th birthday. I ordered a hazelnut sfolglia and asked them for an all white cake with only red piping at the bottom. When I arrived to pick up my cake, I was presented with a cake that was not what I ordered. It had red and white piping at the top and bottom and to top it off the piping was messy. It looked like a 3 year old piped the cake. I told the girl at the counter that I wasn't happy and she replied that nothing could be done. Because I was hours away from hosting my party I took it or I would have no cake. I called the bakery many times to discuss the embarrassing cake they sold me and it was difficult to get any answers. Finally I did have contact with someone and they asked me to email the pictures of the cake. I explained my situation. At the end they said the owner didn't see anything wrong with the cake (see attached pictures) and that they would credit me $30 For a future order I had with them. No ownership was taken for the incorrect order and the sloppy piping. The sfoglia was awful too- hard as a rock. I was so embarrassed to serve this cake at my event and my guests asked me if I made the cake at home as it didn't not look or taste like it was make at a well known bakery. Even my baker friends were astonished that St Phillips would sell a product like that. I will never shop at St Phillips again. I have since cancelled my future order as well. Save your money and go to other bakeries that will provide quality items and take ownership for mistakes when they make them. read more

I've been a loyal customer of St. Phillips for years now. I usually shop at the Maple location but I recently moved and decided to give this location a shot - boy was this a mistake. I went in a few weeks ago, and paused to check my phone when I felt a tug at my feet. Turns out one of the workers was trying to roll the carpet that i was STANDING ON!!! When I voiced my concern over my own balance, the small lady said "so sorry" with no hesitation while continuing to roll up the carpet. After this, I went on to order my veal sandwich. I took a seat to eat it after cleaning off my own table in the dining area, something I never did at the Maple location, and began eating my sandwich. After a few bites I noticed a long hair in my sandwich, embedded in the veal. When I confronted the employees they explained to me that no one has that colour hair? IT WAS BROWN!!! (everyone was brunette) They let me know that the manager most likely would NOT give me a refund; they took my number and sent me on my way. I have not received a call back to this day. I've tried to call back a few times and ask to speak to the manager, but i'm always told she's "busy with a customer". My wife, my kids and I will NOT BE coming back to that Nazi camp.. read more

Kris U took me to St. Phillips to experience an "Italian Hot Table," which in Evelyn's words sounds like a naughty experience. Rest assured, it isn't. It's kind of like a cafeteria line, but instead of tater tots and frozen vegetables you get to choose from delicious Italian pastas, sandwiches, and meals. You could have arancini, gnocchi, salads, veal, and much, much more. You pick, they serve, you pay, that's how it goes. (By the way I picked a sandwich thing that was kind of like a Panini, stuffed with mozzarella, tomatoes, and meat. It was scrumptious.) The inside of this bakery has a lot of other cool stuff, including delicious-looking baked goods, a coffee bar, and a smaller grocery section. And there are a medium amount of tables so you can eat in or take your stuff to go. I can definitely see the appeal of having your Sunday meals here and if the hot table ever takes off in Denver I'll be first in line. read more

Utterly disappointed at the lack of professionalism at the Maple location of St. Phillips Bakery. We went to pick up a baby shower cake on Saturday morning of May 27, 2017. Take a look at the photo below. When we picked up the cake, we were shocked to see the names "Jeff and Hez" written on it instead of the correct spelling of "Jess and Hez". When it was brought to the attention of the bakery staff, not only did they not apologize or offer to correct the mistake, they insisted and argued that the spelling was correct. One would expect the staff to fix it or at the very least, correct the name to the customer's satisfaction. It was obvious that the letter was "f" with a horizontal dash on the letter that we had to wipe off the chocolate frosting to correct it. The store did not offer any compromise or do anything about it. It would have been an easy fix for the bakery. In the pressure of time, we had to manually remove the horizontal line across the letter. Even after we tried to correct it, the vertical stem of the letter was long - proof that they wrote the letter F and not S. If the letter was indeed S, it should look similar to the letter S at the end of the word congratulations on the first line. What was supposed to be a joyous occasion to celebrate the arrival of a baby is tarnished by a bakery shop that was supposed to be professional and reliable. Shouldn't a bakery shop possess a primary skill to spell correctly on a cake or at least offer to fix it? Over 150+ guests were invited to the event and we were embarrassed having asked why it is "Jeff" written on the cake. It is a pity that this happened. I hope everyone takes caution when buying from here and get service that they deserve. No celebration should have to deal with this non-sense and be stressed out about a purchase paid for. read more

Very nice Italian coffee shop and bakery next to the Natures Emporium. They have a wide variety of pastry, cakes, ice cream and a food station with salads, pasta etc. We always come for coffee and cannoli. There are a lot if tables, so we can always sit down and enjoy our coffee. read more

St. Phillips is a decent bakery. Their hot table has some pretty good options, that taste better than some other bakeries in the area. They also make a decent espresso compared to the nearby competition. They have nice traditional Italian cakes for events, and have a decent pastry selection as well. There isn't too much seating, but what they do have is nice, several tables beside the window on an elevated platform. It's a nice place to stop in for your espresso fix. read more

I had such high hopes for this place. I never knew I loved tiramisu until I tried my friend's. She's honestly a master chef and made the best tiramisu I've ever tasted - and I have tried LOTS. But of course, she rarely makes it. So anyway, recently I have been hunting and being an Italian bakery I thought they would have decent tiramisu. They have individual portions that are essentially what the cake would taste like, and it was nothing special. Nothing compared to my friend's tiramisu. La Sem in Mississauga also makes a good tiramisu, but nothing compares to my friend's (she does make it the traditional way). My experience has been that they have pretty good veal sandwich and it's not a bad atmosphere. However I just has an arangini and some of their fried calamari and shrimp I was really disappointed. The calamari and shrimp were stone cold and soggy not crispy at all. The arangini was cold and had little flavour and didn't taste that fresh. For 32$ for that and two veal sandwhich is way to over priced. I won't be eating there again. In woodbridge there are more than enough good places to eat with fresh food. Also a side note my mom had ordered two cakes one red velvet and one was a lemon cream. First of all for 40$ for two tiny cakes it was a rip off each cake only served really four and we had 12 people. Second the red velvet cake was so stale and the cream cheese frosting was so stale and not fresh it had a weird taste. I would recommend buying your cakes elsewhere too. read more

They seemed to know the clerk, and started ordering a bunch of different things. The clerk completely ignored the fact that I was there before them, and I had to wait another 10 minutes. Not only did this bakery not make a cake I ordered online on their website for my fathers 50th birthday party, but they also told me there was nothing they could do about it, without reimbursing me or apologizing because there was no "proof" that I did not receive my cake, even though I have receipts.
