I have been going to this shop for many years, and regardless of what some reviewers may say, have never found either building at this location to be other than well ordered and mustiness free. Some people just live to troll I guess. I have been shopping for clothing here most recently, following a large weight loss and have been very pleased with both the quality and assortment of clothing. The everyday prices are great, and by shopping on discount days (a calendar is available which shows these) i've scored some great outfits for just a few bucks. Most recently i spent all of three bucks and got two pairs of pants and a Gloria Vanderbilt blouse by coming in on Sunday when all clothing is 99 cents per piece. The big building on the lot is also the home of the Project Pride office for the Snohomish Co. PUD, they distribute the funds. Unlike some so called thrift stores St Vincent de Paul is heavily involved in helping those who are in need in our local community, not a popular subject in the extreme right wing atmosphere in this country which seems to believe that only the rich deserve to live with any dignity. Are there some high priced items on display? Yes, there are, but i would rather see this in these places which help others, than have the money going into the pocket of some fat cat. read more

I want this two-building thrift store to be better than it is. With so much square footage in two stores across the same parking lot, it's surprising that I never seem to find anything to buy here. In the past, it seemed like the newer building had new stuff while the older building had vintage and housewares. Now the division is less clear, but it seems like adults' clothes and shoes are mostly in the new building, while tools, kids' clothes, media and furniture are in the old building. Housewares are in both, but the new building always feels underfilled and sparse, while the older one is jam-packed, so it would help if they balanced it out more. The inventory changes a lot and they have quite a bit of seasonal stuff, especially ornaments and decor during the holidays. The old building is pretty cluttered and ramshackle, so step carefully when you're in there -- things are piled everywhere and not very well organized. You're constantly having to lean over things and push stuff aside to see what's underneath. It's kind of fun in that crazy garage-sale way, where you just have no idea what weird things you might see (cases of adult diapers! bins full of receipt tape!), but that rarely translates into anything I actually want to own. There's a large book section in back, and prices are good at 4 for $1, but even at that bargain price, I can never find books that I want. A lot of the titles are really old and battered, or just random stuff that nobody would want -- obsolete reference manuals, dusty old books about wars, that kind of thing. As with all St. Vinnie's stores, they have colored tag discounts and sales, which can make for good deals. I went into this store with my 5 year old. The manager Jo yelled at me in front of my child and left her in tears. After seeing this she continued to wave us out the door. Seeing my child upset did nothing to stop her behavior. I was appalled that anyone could raise their voice in such a manner in front of a child. I will advise everyone I know and everyone connected to me on social media to go to other thrift shops. Jo must have some serious issues she needs to work through in order to yell at a 5 year old child. read more

First of all, this location no longer has 2 buildings. Its been that way for a while now. I've also noticed that in the last 2 months or so there has NOT been much to choose from that hasn't been there for way too long... What's up with that? On the plus side, St Vincent de Paul is the real deal as opposed to Goodwill, which I think is big business pretending to be a charity...Why are people giving so many FREE items to Goodwill and not enough to the second-hand charities that actually are closer to 100% charitable organizations, like The Salvation Army. Fantastic 99 cent clothing sale on Sundays! I staff are polite and even fellow shoppers tend to be super nice! The only thing is the shop can be rather bare aside from the clothing. I've been there dozens of times and it's like nothing else really sells, so you see a lot of the same stuff week after week. They use the second building now to hold stuff, but I wish they would open it up again. When both buildings were open, it felt more like a treasure hunt, now it's just some place I go on Sundays, spend maybe 15-20 minutes in the store, grab what I want, and leave. read more

The supposedly "vintage" section is a bunch of broken junk that is way overpriced and dirty. Go in go a good laugh but wear a gas mask and get ready to be applauded. However the bigger building has a small selection of cheap plates pots and pan and is not quite as disgusting and beyond any of your worst white trash yard sale with one table, some broken kids toys and a family with one tooth between them all including unklegrandpa. read more

After visiting this location and planning on purchasing many Halloween items, myself and others were approached by the manager, Jo, and another employee. After explaining we were exempt from wearing a mask they were incredibly rude and asked us to leave regardless of our exemptions. This is a difficult time for many and the treatment both myself and many others received was awful and unwarranted. read more

Went last weekend to look for a older desk for our home office, one that specifically is NOT a computer desk. Didn't figure it would be difficult to locate, since all the furniture places sell these days are computer desks. Had a figure in mind and knew we would probably have to do some rehab work on it, but looked forward to some minor wood repair, sanding, staining, and finishing. Well, back up that bus and pick a new route because the two desks that had on the sales floor were quite the sight to see! Both between 15 & 25 years olds, both in below average condition (no big deal), and one priced at $249 and the other at $299! Holy bags of bucks, Batman! I don't know when they changed their business model from "thrift store" to "Nordstrom Rack", but I must have missed the news release. Seriously, they had a whole wall of paperback books trying to sell them for $1.50 a pop, most of which Half-Price Books wouldn't have bought. We saw a similar desk at Value Village three weeks ago and it had a $20 tag on it. Unfortunately, it also had a sold sticker on it. So disappointed! read more

This thrift store is on Broadway, and used to be an auto garage back in the day. The two buildings that make up this thrift store are separate, but both packed with goodies. I guess one was the actual garage, and one was the old offices. The larger main building has clothing for all ages, shoes, furniture, and some of the more "upscale" items. Nothing was priced completely out of control, so upscale is a relative term. There were a few honest to god vintage pieces, like working old typewriters, or the odd piece of furniture that was priced about $100 or so, but they were real vintage, not crazy pricing. There are no tags on the merchandise. You can find the prices right on the ends of the racks. All shoes were $5.99, all shirts were $1.99, etc, and so forth. They run a 99 cent clothing sale every Sunday, and the day I went in, was a pink tag sale. I guess that means you can pick up a pink tag out of a basket, and use it to pay for one thing at half price, or your whole purchase at half price, I'm not sure which. In the main building I got a pair of shoes, and two real silver goblets for $6.50. The pink tag was applied to the whole purchase. The other building is more junk and housewares. They even had an entire side room filled with electronic cast offs. In this room the volunteer only applied the pink tag to one item, but I still got two picture frames, and 24 brass clothing closures for $3 and some change. This thrift store reminds me of shopping twenty years ago, before you had buyers coming in, and getting all the good stuff, and driving up prices. There are some real gems here, and I don't think the place has ever seen a hipster buyer for a "cool" thrift store, ever. Be prepared to wade through everything, as the place is really packed. The staff was comprised of older volunteers, and very kind and helpful. The prices alone were worth the trip. read more

I am a street minister who provides winter clothes for the homeless in Snohomish County. Because of St Vincent I was able to give free coats, sweaters, pants, socks, gloves to hundred of homeless men, women and children. Every Sunday most of the clothes are only $1.!!!! This is amazing!! This is the absolutely lowest priced thrift store around. What they don't have in size and selection, they more than make up for in price. They are situated on old Broadway, kind of in the middle of nowhere, but it's worth going there. They have a limited selection of clothing, but everything is absolutely cheap. I got a great pair of boots for $3.99, and a skirt for a couple bucks. They are a great place to look for furniture, if you are a tinkerer that likes to fix her own stuff. So far, I have gotten a desk for $10, and a night stand for $7. Both are now painted, and pretty, and well worth hauling home. They have an entire room devoted to kitchen stuff, and there is some real deals in there if you dig around. Also, if you have to donate things, they are really very nice folks. I always make sure to donate my stuff through St. Vincents. Last spring I donated a pair of 20 hole doc martens that didn't fit me, and six bags of clothing that were pretty cool, just not my size anymore. I figure the more folks donate there, the better their clothing selection will be. read more

They did clean it up since the last time I had been in there. It can be overwhelming though. They do have a lot of actual vintage stuff here but most of the time it is way overpriced because they do know the demand for that kind of stuff now. I get it, gotta make that money but it is a bummer. Right building is a lot of clothes, most of them super dated and not good. I did see an actual pair of mint condition uggs in the case for $99, if they had not been an 11 I would have scored an amazing deal that day. I don't like to go to this St. Vincent's because the selection isn't that great and what they do have isn't exactly organized. It's also kind of out of way for me. The main building is more organized than the smaller one across the parking lot. I generally stick to looking at housewares because I don't like how St. Vincent's prices their clothing. I understand that it saves time, but I just feel like sometimes the pair of pants I want isn't worth the standard price they've set for pants. The smaller building is separate from the main building, but is still considered a St. Vincent's store (they have separate cashiers in each building). I can't stay in here for more than a couple of minutes. I'm not easily bugged by musty smells, but I don't know how the employees work there, especially on a hot day. The inventory in this second building is totally unorganized, so I generally just skim over it and get out. read more

I'm not sure what others are talking about, saying that this place is inexpensive, I noticed quite the opposite. Items seem to be significantly higher priced than other thrift stores in the area. I love this place. Cool stuff, some of it is a bit overpriced, but not all. I don't think the 1-STAR reviews are warranted. Giving it 1 or 2 stars just isn't fair. I shop thrift stores often and this is a good one. Lots of retro fun stuff. Nice mix of things, fun to sort through, but be careful, the shelves are packed and it's easy to knock things off them. Nice staff, I love the way they decorate with their items in the smaller store. I found some GREAT gems while here today. Oh, and there was NO musty smell when I was there. Management has changed over the years. Previous years it was a 5-star, then three-star. But they currently do different kinds of sales every day, and merchandise moves rapidly, especially in the south "bargain" store. There is a Saturday ten cent book day, Friday half-off furniture day, and 75% off Sunday on all the ticket color of the week. read more

I have never been a huge shopper at thrift stores. I have lived directly behind it for almost two years now and that doesn't even make me want to go there. Their delivery trucks are annoying as they come odd hours of they day. And they think that my yard is another drive way. Not to mention all the times I have been late for work cause they block my car in my own drive way. I can't stand the smell inside. After leaving makes me want to scrub my skin off from the filth. Overall, Decent prices. Although I have yet to find anything worth buying. read more

I don't know about this place. I keep wanting my visits to be better, but it's just the same clutter and junk. The staff are fairly friendly but that's pretty much all it has going for it. I would not recommend going to the vintage building, that is so cluttered that it's a wonder someone hasn't fallen. The staff members are very friendly, welcoming and greet you when you come through the door. I believe, that is a must have. I like the two buildings, they offer different things in each one. I have gotten some serious video games there for a great price. They don't really sell ikea furniture it's mostly higher end things made of solid wood. Sometimes they have very nice vintage pieces too. People that leave negative comments on here make me scratch my head. They may want to check out the plastic bag challenge next. If you don't know what that is, Google images should be able to clear that up for you. It sickens me when people make rude comments about this store. Especially when this company does so much for people in need. They are always willing to help and want customers to be happy. I understand that there are customers that want something for nothing. Been going to this thrift shop for years. I don't know why people have complained about a "musty smell", as it's a thrift shop. They ALL smell like old things!!! Besides that I can almost always find the random items I'm looking for. They are great about picking up donations and often will give you a voucher for $5 for donating to use on other items you may need. On Sundays they have $.99 clothing day, which is really helpful when you have 5 kids to clothe! They even loaned me a bungee cord to bring home a dresser that I bought and mis-measured! I've found they have far better prices than other local thrift shop too. Sometimes they do have things that are over priced, but all thrift stores do. I am a social worker and I referred one of my clients to St Vincent to get help with household items. The volunteer came to the house the very next day (during the holiday season) and brought vouchers for the needed furniture and gift cards to get the children Christmas presents. The workers who came to the home were so gracious and offered even further help than was asked for. I can't begin to express my gratitude for the help they offered this family.
