While helping my grandmother purge some old items she didn't need anymore, we researched places that took donations that benefited the community. I'm not a fan of Goodwill or Salvation Army, so was happy to find St. Vincent de Paul. Because one of the items was a tube TV in working condition, we called ahead to ensure they could take it and they couldn't be nicer. They gave clear instructions and we were off to complete the task at hand. Once we arrived, we followed the signs to the donation area (it's around the corner), and someone immediately helped us. Due to COVID-19, they fill up fast, so it's best to go earlier in the day to ensure they can take all of your items. I don't do a ton of donations, but I'll continue to drop off here as it's a place that my grandma loves and I know the money goes back to where it should. read more

My wife and I went here yesterday. We like the idea that unlike Goodwill, this is more of a non-profit. Apparently things have changed since our last trip. When we got there, what I heard was "We can't take that" (an undamaged secretarial chair), "We can't take that" (an undamaged solid wood bookcase with glass doors) and one or two other things that they "couldn't take". We also had a very NICE nested child's table where the sides fold down and the chairs fit inside. Well, they could take that but "We can't get into your truck". It's not like we can't move things but at 70 years old and talking with a fifty-something and a thirty something it seemed to me if they wanted these things they could unload them. Perhaps it's a liability issue. I told them "Fine, I'll take them somewhere else". We took them to Abraham's House and to Goodwill where the folks at those two places COULD get into the bed of the truck. St. Vinnie's of Bremerton, we won't be taking useable items to you anymore. You aren't user friendly. read more

I love supporting local thrift stores, while their inventory is very organized, they dont have that much of selection and their pricing is very high. They also dont adjust pricing based on brands or the item. Its almost as if its just a flat rate. I needed a winter coat and found one with some minor issues but they wanted close to 30$ for it! They charge full retail or more for something thats not worth it. I will still shop there but their prices are too much. If they adjusted their prices maybe they could raise more money that went back into the community. Just an idea... read more

THRIFT STORE JUNKY Vinny's(as the locals call it) happen to be my most cherished second hand/thrift store in bremerton. i find the most fantastic and ridiculous things there....like bloodsport on VHS, some nice black on black wing tips, countless random clothing artifacts ranging from the 70's till now...etc. almost every person who works there is a peach...except this one lady, that i have been reassured, doesn't hate me....even though she seems quite disdainful of me. best time to go there, hands down, is around halloween....it is a glorious treasure chest of ridiculous(my specialty). i found a male figure skater's out fit...that moment deserved a fist pump of self congratulations. one problem, is that like all thrift stores, if they think that they can make more money off of a collectors item, they try. example: they have 4/5 NKOTB barbies selling for 12.50 each...i would buy just the donnie ....but....they know that i'm the only person in bremerton that wants those(i've told them in over dramatically passionate tone many a-times) and i am not paying $12.50 a pop for 'em. i refuse to give them a fifth star until the dolls are mine...i doubt that'll ever happen...so i guess we are at an impasse. read more

Infested with mold and bed bugs. Please don't shop here. (Because you'll ruin it for me) It's actually my primary source of clothing and gifting amazing vintage finds to my co-workers. The staff can be completely rude and will not negotiate anything without a manager (there are never managers available) Get a stamp card if you plan on returning. Check out their calendar for monthly deals. The fitting rooms are so tiny and filthy I've taken to showing up in leggings and just trying stuff on in the isles. With so many bummertown tweekers and completely gross weirdos roaming the isles, nobody bats an eye. Don't forget to check out the furniture annex. It's wayyyy gross and dirty but there are gems in the shadows. read more

I've been shopping here for over 20 years. This is by far the best thrift store in town. Their prices are fair and it is clean and organized [so easy to find what you need if they have it]. Being a teacher, I'm always attracted to kids' books--St. Vinny's sells kids books for 25-45 cents a piece. I have purchased most of the books for my classroom library here :). I also get staplers and tape dispensers for under a dollar. Also, pocket folders and clipboards for the kids who may not be able to purchase school supplies. I love to browse through their kitchen things: containers, bowls, mugs--I don't know how to describe the plethora of "things" but it's worth the hunt when you find that special thing. read more

Ah, it's a thrift store, and you know I love 'em. This shop is big, clean (as thrift stores go), and amazingly well organized and tidy. The staff are fine and the prices are fair (as thrift stores go). Not as much clothing as, say, Goodwill or Value Village, and the housewares section is also smaller but the quality is fine. If you like crafts/sewing don't miss their nifty little section in the back corner full of supplies and such. :) Other stuff: Plenty of free parking and the restroom is old but very clean--big thanks for that! read more

Friendly staff and good prices, but I was disappointed to get home and find that some of the DVDs I purchased which the store had taped shut were seriously scratched. I was assured that they were taped shut because they had been inspected and were in good condition, but I didn't find that to be the case. read more

Can't run a debit card without a second form of ID even though my pictures on it. That is ridiculous. Absurd. Not to mention all three staff members that I talked to rude and would not explain to me why this was even though I was being very kind and respectful. I was just curious as to why that was. No one would give me a decent answer they would just say that's how it is here. And turn away from me. I wasn't being mean I wasn't being rude and I wasn't being angry. Service at thrift shops should be exactly the same as service anywhere else and it is not here, not even close. Lackluster and unacceptable. read more

I've shopped in thrift stores for years. Rarely do I run across one this well organized. Their selection isn't trashy, items are priced and priced intelligently. They seem to have enough staff here to keep it running smoothly. Lots of interesting items. read more

Was ripped off by this store! DO NOT SHOP THERE EVER!! Bought a china set (service for 12) that listed EVERYTHING INCLUDED on the price display........it INCLUDED 4 serving trays. One was missing so had my other half go & ask about it & they said, no it was 3 serving trays. They did NOT put them in the box with the dishes. Went to go plug in the lamp I bought only to find that it was NOT here (nor was it in the car). Called the store to get told (after they reviewed the security footage supposedly) that I was not charged for the lamp & the serving trays were NOT included even though they were listed as included. They already had resold the lamp btw so no way for me to go & get it now! No way either for ME to determine if I really was or was NOT charged for the lamp as I bought MANY household items & they do NOT list exactly what things are when you buy them (like at other stores where it says what it is & has an item code). Stay away from this store!! They are thieves!!! If it were possible to give a negative star I would!!! read more

My husband and I stopped at this shop today. I was very impressed. First of all, the staff greeted us very nicely when we walked in the front door. The entire store was impeccably organized and clean. it was light and airy and had a generally good ambiance. The labeling and placing of items was incredible. I was particularly impressed with the crafting corner were even spools of thread were displayed in a very appealing manner. I'm not even a crafter but I found the detail very appealing. The holiday room was quite wonderful as was the toy area. Every item was nicely hung and displayed as well as being reasonably priced. We found several items in the store that we did purchase. I commend whoever is responsible for management of this establishment. You've done a stellar job. read more

There is really only one reason I stop by here and it's to see if they have any vintage electronics floating around (I'm a nerd for keyboards and mixing boards and stuff of that nature). The good news is that I occasionally find some cool stuff for sale here. However, their pricing is all over the place and usually skewers toward the "more than it is worth" side of pricing. There are still some good deals to be found here. The staff has never really been helpful though. The smell of popcorn that fills this place isn't as appealing as they seem to think it is. Still, it's worth the occasional stop just to see what they have. read more

St Vincent de Paul's (or St. Vinny's as the locals dub it) is one of my favorite thrift shops! I do not live near Bremerton but I like to drop by every once in awhile. They have some really cool hoo-ha things there which I like. Vinnys staff are not the most helpful but that is okay...because you can always have the freedom to explore in a thrift shop. You can't really look for anything specific like you can in Walmart or Safeway. I took one star off because the store is disorganized, dirty and in an unsafe part of town. Drug addicts lurk around and inside the store which induces discomfort. Other than that, St Vinnys is good if you like to look for antiques or unusual things. read more

This is an interesting thrift shop. I know they don't sell everything they are given, but they seem to put out a wider variety than other stores. I can find empty pill bottles to store beads. vintage electronics and other hard to find items. As mentioned above, their pricing is weird. Some stuff goes for pennies, other stuff is priced as if it is new. Two identical items donated on different days will have widely differing prices. They have no return policy although I was able to return a toy that was marked "works" when it didn't. Things like that require the manager. Also, if you see something you feel is overpriced, you can see if the manager will reduce the price. It helps if the item has been there awhile. The help is mostly mechanical and are quick to become defensive, even if you're not offensive. I like that they take my donations of used plastic grocery bags. At least they get recycled once! Clean doesn't seem to be in their vocabulary as any decorating was done in the 80's and has enough dust to prove it. The rest of the store is clean though. But what do you want in a thrift store anyway? read more

I have found some great finds here always at a good price. The staff is nice and my dad was able to talk them down on some cool statues from the 1920's, but he is a regular. The also give out bread and other food good to people in need. A lot of their competitors are just too expensive. read more

I can't speak to the actual Thrift Store but my experience with their donation system was absolutely terrible. We recently wanted to donate our old couch, love seat, coffee table, and end table. Our furniture was in great condition but we didn't have a way to haul it so we called SVDP because they offer donation pick up. When I was ready to arrange pick up I called and spoke with a guy who took all of my information and confirmed the date with me. He couldn't give me a real timeframe other than "between 9 - 3:30" so I had to take a day off of work to meet them. ST VINCENT DE PAUL NEVER SHOWED UP!! I called their office and after dealing with several inept employees I finally got ahold of the woman who "does all of the scheduling" and she told me I wasn't even on the list! When I explained to her that I gave all of my information to another employee she said that she'd "have a talk with him" but she never once apologized for the screw up. So now I'm out an entire day of work and stuck with a bunch of extra furniture I don't need. Needless to say, I won't be working with SVDP ever again there are plenty of other worthwhile charities in Kitsap County. read more

St. Vinney's in Bremerton is the best Thrift Store around. The best part is that they have so many great programs that help folks. That in itself is worth the trip and leaving some cash behind. I always find treasures to bring home and everything I get is in great condition, including electronic goodies. I have been donating to St. Vincent's for years now, as I want to support a local, non-for profit, thrift store that serves an underprivileged area. A Unworn clothes, shoes, dishes, you name it- I have made it a point to give good quality things to this place, rather than to Goodwill or Value village. My experience today has changed everything- I tried to give a perfectly good crock pot and was told by the guy in the back that it was "trash" and it was "just going to end up in the trash." His words, verbatim, were "Look at the condition of this thing, I can't sell this, it's trash." First of all, it wasn't trash. It works perfectly, it's clean, stainless steel, and it isn't very old. Secondly, his attitude was so rude and unacceptable. I understand having to turn some things away and not being able to take everything, but he could have said that with tact and professionalism instead of being blatantly rude to the people who are kindly giving away their things for free, instead of trying to sell them. Keep treating the people that keep your doors open like this and see how long you'll last. read more

As thrift stores go, this is the best. Not just because they have more than just clothing, but because when you want to donate to them, they don't get all picky and only take half of what you are trying to get rid of. I will drive 15 miles to donate here - passing Goodwill and a number of other places, because they take it all. Some of the things I bring might not sell for much, but it's better than going to the landfill, and I appreciate anyone who can resell my stuff, make a minor profit, help people, and keep things out of the landfill. Their store is a bit run down, but I don't care - I'd rather they use the money to help people than spend a lot on the store. read more

The real secret to my ability to dress all classy on a budget? The SVdP. They sell everything from toasters (bagel toaster!) to T-shirts, and they seem to have a line on getting plenty of gently used clothing that looks awesome. Then they sell it cheap. I like this! read more

I want to like this store so much and they get good items but the pricing is basically full retail. The prices are very high for a "thrift" store and I wouldn't even classify this as a thrift store because of the high pricing. I see turntables (record players) in the $50 range and stereo amplifiers around $100. They may work but there are no bargains here and these guys know way too much to let anything slip by for a good price. read more
