The cashier (taller guy, long hair--receipt says Corey/Cotey?) was very unfriendly in his tone throughout the checkout process and at the very end proceeds to ask, "what's in that?" Accusing me of stealing items, and justified his Q by saying, "it happens." It was a lunch box with snacks for my son as we shopped. I wouldn't have given much thought to either of these interactions on their own, but because the whole experience was negative, I feel the need to share it. It was also strange when I went last Friday at 10 am and the doors were closed. Phone went straight to static. A lot of people walked up to locked doors and were confused as to why there wasn't a sign stating they were closed. A woman told me that she had a lot of valuables to donate and will be going elsewhere. Sad! I hope someone will see these reviews and actually make changes, rather than just respond to the review itself. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back to shop or donate anytime soon. I will continue going to St. Vincent de Paul, where I've had nothing but a great experience and interacted with only kind employees/volunteers.

For one, the store is a mess now: can't find any thing of use without wandering around forever--and getting any help? Forget it! The staff there now is either too busy on their phones, or arguing with each other--or maybe it was another customer. Not really sure, but I finally just left without buying anything. But I really liked the work they were doing to save our local furry friends from misery or worse! Too bad they let this place go down the tubes. Get her back!! At whatever the cost!!!

This thrift store was such a cute little find! It was a fun spot to browse, and I enjoyed taking my time looking through everything. The clothing section wasn't huge, but what they had was decent and well-curated. I really appreciated that the pieces were in good condition--no noticeable stains, holes, or overly worn items. Pricing for clothing was very reasonable, which made it even more worthwhile to dig through the racks. The household items and furniture, however, were priced much higher, with some pieces ranging into the hundreds. One big downside is that there's no restroom on-site. If you need one, you'll have to walk over to the tractor shop next door--which, while not terrible, is definitely inconvenient. Overall, I wish they had a larger clothing selection, but the quality, pricing (on clothes), and overall charm still made this a pleasant stop.

I have gone 5 times now in the past 3 months and think they are pretty much equal in a lot of areas. So here's a pro/con list. St Vin Goodwill Pricing is pretty equal on clothing Selection is better at goodwill meaning they have waaaay more items. -goodwill is open till 9pm every single night; st vin is not open at all on fri sat Sun. St vin doesn't have as much to offer people under the age of 30; goodwill does. But one thing does put st vin above goodwill for me... they are not lying to the general public as a non profit. Please. Goodwill takes in more money than most businesses in cottonwood. But because of a loophole in the laws, goodwill says it provides job searching assistance to the community so it is allowed to be a profitable non profit business. The "job research center" they are talking about, is 2 or 3 computers in the back that at one time, people could use to fill out applications. First, everyone and I mean everyone, knows someone with a computer they could ask to borrow to do that if they don't have one themselves. The public library has always let people use their internet and computers free so it could have been done there. The computers im talking about at this goodwill are used to hold clothing items, they are not even in use. And I'm there 5 days a week multiple hours each time and it's been over a year since they were used to look for a job. It's just a lie to hold their status. Cuz if I was making hundreds of thousands of dollars every month, I wouldn't want to give up my non profit status either. So yes I do shop there because of a selection, but I never ever ever donate to them. Let's face it these are items that most people think of us trash they are throwing them away. Goodwill takes those items and charges a huge amount for them and then doesn't have to be taxes or anything on it. I've seen clothing with stains and rips and blood and whatever else you can think of in there. Only Goodwill has the gall to charge $30 for a stained or ripped coach bag when you can get the same bag on any reselling site like Poshmark or Mercari, it will have no stains no rips and will be less than they will charge us for it. So I prefer St. Vincent for these reasons.

My friend worked there for a short while last year as one of Fallons Vendors. Her job was using a…read moreheat gun to remove Goodwill price tags, then add a new price tag at 5x the price! When Vendors brought in Inventory, she would put it out when she felt like it, sometimes holding inventory for 2-3 weeks, while her stuff was priced and put out. When the Vendors complain, or questioned her, she kicked them out. She says they are lucky just to be there. And getting paid, was such a goose chase. Checks late every month, not on the 15th like promised, but often 5 weeks late. My friend was young, and loved to work with the older clientele. And when they bought furniture, all the owner did was complain about 'old people' asking for help to carry items! My friend watched this for a bit, then finally left before Christmas (their biggest selling season) last year. She said the humiliation of how she was treated working in that store was not worth the sales, and that it was not a good place for Vendors who are treated like second class citizens. I told her to write a review as she was so poorly treated and share the whole experience, but she didn't want to realize Fallon's wrath. So she has moved from Prescott, but still talks about the horrible experience, so now, I'm writing it for her!

My go to a lot of the time is vinyl records. While they did have a decent selection it was small. What I loved the most was the furniture pieces. I was bummed to not have brought my truck to lug a few pieces home. Service was ok, but nothing to write home about. Besides a hello when we entered that was it. Prices are great I think. So many beautiful things to take home or give as gifts.
