Why yes, yes I'm a fan again!! Went again tonight and while I was passing by about to be disappointed again I noticed a sign that made my heart jump for joy. STACY'S LAU LAU HAS LAU LAU AGAIN!! They had plates with either pork, turkey tail or chicken available for sale. I am definitively a fan of the chicken lau lau. Don't know if it was by mistake or not, but I swear my lau lau was super bombucha with 2, count them 2 pieces of chicken inside. The chicken was nicely cooked, so moist and juicy falling off the bone goodness. Hope they continue to offer it at the future farmer's markets. Wow lau lau! I've been wanting to try Stacy's lau laus for a while now, but she wasn't selling if for a while now at the Kailua Farmers Market. I read somewhere that she had stopped making it because she was so busy with her other job. Tonight she had everything, pastele stew, guava chicken, chicken lau lau, turkey tail lau lau, and some other dishes. I like that Stacy give you a choice of brown or white rice and mac or salad greens. My husband got the chicken lau lau with brown rice and mac salad ($9.00). Hit them at ETS #2. YUMMY lau lau! Leaves were perfectly cooked - not mushy or bitter. Pork was moist & tender. The lau lau was sooo delicious, I bought 2 more to take with me. =) The haupia was also a hit with me. More like a creamy custard instead of being like jello. This is a review of their food tent. They appear in front of the First Insurance Center building off Ward Ave on Wednesdays during lunch time. Street parking is sparse and unless you work nearby or are within walking distance, it wouldn't be convenient. Food: I tried the Kiawe steak which had a fair sized portion of greens, a lot of rice (brown or white), and an adequate amount of steak. The pepper on the steak was superb and the steak was well seasoned and cut in bite sized shapes. My only issue is that the beef cut being whatever it was had a certain amount of chewy fat which rendered some pieces inedible. To be fair, you don't pay filet minon prices. Headed to the Ward Farmer's Market today and decided to try out Stacy's Lau Lau for dinner. They sell frozen and hot lau lau (pork, chicken & turkey tail) as well as pastele stew. Instead of doing the lau lau plate which comes with rice and tossed salad I decided to buy individual hot chicken lau lau instead for $4.50 each. I have to have poi and lomi lomi salmon with my lau lau or it just ain't going to happen. I have to say that the family that runs the booth at the market is really nice and Stacy's husband is a totally local guy who is very helpful. He's super "braddah braddah kine" if you know what I mean but if you're going to buy Hawaiian food from someone, that's a really good thing! If your lau lau maker doesn't speak pidgin then it just isn't going to taste right. Stacy's also caters lau lau for parties as well if you're looking to do Hawaiian food for a graduation or baby luau. Took my hot lau lau home and ate it with poi and lomi lomi salmon that I picked up from Safeway. The lau lau was perfectly cooked and the only thing I'd like is if it was a little more salty, but I think that's just a personal preference. What I really enjoyed about the lau lau was that it was not filled with fatty pieces and the chicken was very lean. I ate an entire lau lau and I am completely stuffed! Looking forward to eating more lau lau and will bring my own sides of poi and lomi lomi salmon next time I visit the farmer's market so we can have a Hawaiian picnic on the grass. read more

I first got introduced to their food by my boyfriend who's been buying their laulau's for years. They have one of the biggest and fullest laulau's i've ever had. On Tuesday's they're on the lawn on Cooke St. and they have the best food. The guava chicken is soo good, but even better is their ahi belly...so soft and moist and flavorful. If you ever get a chance to try their food, do it. They're also at the Blaisdell farmer's market every wednesday from 4-7. read more

Tried out their food at the farmers market at the blaisdell center. They were slammed and ran out of the famous dynamite chicken. So I ordered the steak plate, which the head cashier offered to make with dynamite sauce. The cook was very friendly and confirmed with me to try the dynamite sauce with the steak plate. The steak plate was worth the 8 bucks as they gave a fair portion of food for the cost. I checked out the farmers market out in kailua and finally tried their famous dynamite chicken. Their Dynamite chicken is excellent, not to mention with large portions. I was sad to see that they weren't at Pacific Park Plaza on Tuesdays anymore but so glad that I found out they are there on Fridays now. I also like their pastele stew. We had Stacy's Lau Lau Co to cater the hawaiian food at my daughter's wedding and it was awesome. So may guests asked who, who, who did we get our food from because it was all soo good. We went to all the usual, well known places but only liked certain things from here & certain things from there. But when we sampled hers-WE LIKE IT ALL and I mean ALL! She has the most complete menu for such a great price. The taste and cost blows the competitors away. We added her mini pork lau laus for those who don't eat squid luau (what?) and let me tell you, her mini is not so mini - its good size. Her squid luau by the way is the best, not too sweet, not too coconutty - just right. Nice and thick and the tako is sooo soft. Her haupia is also awesome, not cornstarch sugar water, she does not skimp on the coconut milk. Everything that she cooked was delicious and delivered hot and fresh. Stacy and her husband Bert are great people who cook with lots of love - really easy people to work with who genuinely want to help you have a great party.
