When in Kailua post beach sesh...steak and fried noodles is must! Remember to put the Korean sauce on top!

This little hidden restaurant inside a liquor store is definitely a sleeper. They offer a wide range of foods but we specifically came for their steak plates. It was served with toss salad, rice and steak which brings back memories. I decided to get the steak and shrimp mixed plate ($13.99). For the salad, i went with ranch dressing. It seems like the steak is cooked a certain way as I was not given the option on how i wanted it cooked. It wasn't that big of a deal for me as long as it isn't well done. Once my plate came out which was pretty fast; about a 5 minute wait time, i went over to put their special sauce. It was a sweet korean sauce which was super tasty! One thing that was disappointing was the size and amount of shrimp on the plate. 4 pieces of shrimp and they were fairly small. The steak looked medium rare-well which was perfect. As far as taste, it was pretty good and i can see why there was a lot of people coming in to order them.

You can always get a good meal whether it's a steak plate or garlic shrimp they also make some really good fried noodles. I was impressed. The lady behind the counter is very kind and generous

Solid steak plate, decent steak plate! I'd come back for sure. I'd probably try the combo steak + shrimp next time.

The steaks are the best I've had. I try to order the other items they have, but I just can't pass up those mouthwatering steaks.

We stopped here because the sign clearly stated parking was for paying customers only. I went inside, bought snacks and drinks, and paid while my wife walked across the street to Kalapawai Deli to grab sandwiches since their lot was completely full. Despite the fact that I had just made a purchase and the parking lot was still mostly empty, the owner chased me down as I walked across the street and abruptly told me I could not keep my car there. I returned to my vehicle and decided to simply wait for my wife instead of abandoning her and our baby while I circled Kailua looking for parking. Roughly two minutes later, the owner came knocking on my window demanding to know what I was doing. I explained, calmly and logically, that I was waiting for my wife and utilizing the customer parking that was advertised on the sign after making a purchase. Rather than respond reasonably, he became increasingly emotional, irrational, and confrontational over an almost empty parking lot. The interaction honestly felt less like speaking to a business owner and more like dealing with a child throwing a tantrum. By the end of it he seemed genuinely on the verge of tears over someone calmly sitting in a parking spot they had every reason to believe they were allowed to use. At that point I decided it was better to leave before my wife and infant walked back into an escalating confrontation with someone behaving so unreasonably. If the business wants to impose hidden rules or arbitrary time limits on parking, they should clearly post them instead of emotionally harassing paying customers in an almost empty lot.

I work in an establishment where we have the same rules and I definitely know that there are ways to say it in a respectful way. Went there a couple times with friends definitely never spending my money there. Good luck making money off of tourists because not giving a little bit of respect to locals that could become returning customers just from using aloha. Never in Haleiwa have I experienced that type of disrespect.

One of my favorite parts of this trip has been meeting new people and feeling more connected to the local community. While we were there, I picked up a little something for my bar cart, a surprisingly medium sized bottle of Fireball for under $2. I couldn't believe how affordable it was for the size. I also found Dos Equis, which brought back memories since it's one of the drinks my partner and I always enjoyed sharing with friends back home. I decided to try something new, too: Guava Cart. It's been catching my eye, so I figured this was the perfect opportunity to give it a try. I enjoyed looking around and seeing all of the different types of bottle choices they had. I definitely would like to create my own little bar at home. I had a bar at my parents house that my dad owned and owning one of my own will bring me a piece of my dad here with me.
