Sadly the apple Napple is mostly fluffly flakey pastry and almost no apple in it anymore. At least the lady gave me the fresh ones from the back and not the display.

To celebrate Brown's birthday, I searched my Yelp app and found Napoleon's Bakery. Located inside of Zippy's, this bakery is convenient, has free parking, lots of variety, and has friendly service. We chose a Pianomo Roll, a chocolate-filled donut, and a famous Apple Napple. The Pianomo Roll is great for simple palates because it's a soft cake, rolled in butter and granulated sugar! For chocolate lovers, the chocolate-filled donut is just right because the fluffy yeast donut surrounds the rich center to balance it. Rounding out our sugar rush, we got the flakey Apple Napple. The crunchy exterior and fruity filling helped to satisfy our sweet tooths! If you haven't had anything from Napoleon's Bakery, other recommended items are the Long Johns, Chantilly cake, and Dobash cake. If you're celebrating a special occasion, they can write a greeting with icing on the cake! They also have mixes such as cornbread, pancake, and mochiko chicken batter mix so you can enjoy fresh goodness at home or send/bring to friends/family on the mainland. Just browse and you'll find something for anyone!

Anytime I can patronize a local, small business, I will…read more Nene Goose Bakery has been in business for 31 years according to one of the owners - an older Japanese couple. They open at 600a but there was a queue to the left of the entrance when I arrived a bit after 800a. I waited 30 minutes to get in line and get out with my pastries. Pastry case was half-gone...so I need to come back...and come earlier. Two customers are inside at a time; it is a small bakery. I got a mochi an pan, choco glazed donut, apple bun, veg pizza, and spinanch & onion bun. I got brunch. Also, I got very full. Everything was excellent. It is comparable to Brug Bakery. Tough call but the mochi an pan was the best. They also sell pies for $25 and loaves of bread. Next time, I wanna get the Choco Animal, which, I believe, is a chocolate roll shaped into an animal. Yes, it's probably for kids, but kids aren't buying. Located in the Keolu Shopping Center on Keolu Drive in Enchanted Lakes. Open from 600a till 100p; Friday to Sunday. Closed Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (?)...not sure about Thursdays. Cash only, so bring bills.

They're open from 6am-1pm, and by the time we got there, a few items we wanted to try were already sold out. If you have your heart set on something specific, definitely come early. Cash only!! One of the sweetest parts of the experience was the owner -- a sweet older lady who takes your order herself and carefully packages everything up for you. It feels very personal and old-school in the best way. Here's what we tried: Long John - The star of the show. It's served chilled and doesn't look like your typical long john. The donut itself was light, pillowy, and slightly crispy. The texture contrast was perfect. We'd honestly come back just for this. Mochi An Pan - Really good. The mochi had that satisfying chew, the red bean wasn't overly sweet, and the bread was soft and fresh. Mushroom & Onion - Savory and comforting. The cream sauce was flavorful and paired well with the soft bread Ham & Cream Cheese - This one was a bit too dense for us, likely because of the cream cheese topping. Not bad, just heavier than we prefer. Parking is easy and plentiful since it's in the same lot as the movie theater. Overall, such a cute local bakery, make sure to come early, bring cash, and don't skip the long john.

Never had them till I tried DK and it's been my favorite thing to buy since. Their doughnuts are exceptionally good and so are their croissants sandwiches. They have regular doughnuts, croissant doughnuts and cake doughnuts. Very different from your typical doughnut chain. I will say that it can be pricey, so Donut King is more of a special treat for me if anything. Other than that their service is quick and smooth and would recommend trying their different pastries.

While the space previously was large enough to hold a small restaurant, the new layout means the counter and display take up about half of what used to be the restaurant's space, with the other side left open. There are a few chairs by the doors, but sitting at the open air tables by diagnostic labs is probably better. I went on a saturday morning around 9:10, and it was not busy. I got the red velvet doughnut and the maple cronut right away, and it was a fast checkout. The red velvet is solid. Not too much to say that makes it stand out from other versions of the cake. But it was moist inside, with a nice slightly firmer outside and glaze. A perfect safe option for picky eaters or when you want something simple but delicious. The maple cronut was a softer cronut with a lot of give. The outside has a little crunch like you'd expect, while the inside is buttery and more doughy but also has a lot of air bubbles making it feel larger than it is. The flavor is nice and not overpowering. A cronut might be best paired with a coffee or other drink as it starts to feel heavier towards the end. Still very good, but it may be better to save half for later.
