Living a portion of my time in Gloversville NY, it pleases me to have found an upscale restaurant that fits my personality and style. I like elegance, good food, great classy drinks and a NYC feel ambiance. I absolutely love the Saturday entertainment (Art) and the fact that the lead chef and sous chef make it a point to come out and greet the guests when able. This high end restaurant offers high end meats, and seafood products that are exceptionally prepared for a fraction of the price compared to high end restaurants in NJ and NY. I was tossed between four or five stars. Not only was the food delicious, but the atmosphere was inviting and comfortable, the service was excellent, and I'm hoping others will also discover this off the beaten path location so that it continues as a successful restaurant. We had 6pm reservations for a party of four, arrived about ten minutes early and were seated immediately. The other couple in our party had previously been here and were curious if what they ordered then would be on the menu again. Apparently, the menu is updated weekly. Starting out with cocktails, I know everyone was happy with what they were served. I certainly enjoyed my pint of Coffee Stout, and my wife was pleased with the lavender non-alcoholic cocktail they concocted for her. Because the servings being delivered to other tables appeared to be quite large, we decided to pass on appetizers, in spite of some of the apps sounding rather unique, e.g., Crispy Deviled Eggs, Open Faced Fried Pork Wantons, and Fried Carbonara. My wife was tossed between a Beet Salad with Scallops and the Pistachio Encrusted Chilean Sea Bass. At our server's recommendation she chose the Sea Bass. It was served with corn puree, confit potatoes (which my wife especially enjoyed), and roasted tomatoes. I'll get to enjoy the leftovers. I was trying to make up my mind between the Duck Pot Pie and the Chestnut Mushroom & Boursin Stuffed Tomahawk Pork Chop when our sever alerted us that there were only two servings left of the Pork Chop. I promptly claimed one of them! I am so glad I did. It was an amazingly delicious and well prepared dish. The pork had a slight pinkish color, just as I like it, the meat was so tender and flavorful, the stuffing had a crisped surface from the oven or salamander, everything was wrapped in tasty pancetta, the smashed potatoes were creamy and delicious, a white wine truffle sauce added another level of flavor, and even the carrot spears had the right level of firmness. I can affirm that my leftovers were equally enjoyable. We were not as lucky in having advance notice of the limited availability of a limoncello pie dessert, so my wife and I shared a slice of Banana Cookie Dough Pie. OMG! That was sooooo delicious. It was light, creamy, and not overly sweet. A real treat with the good coffee they serve. That pie along with something from their Lighter Menu, like a burger, would send you home in ecstasy without putting much of a dent in your wallet. Our bill for the party of four having one round of drinks, entrees, and desserts was about $250. Taking the whole dining experience into account, it was a very fair value. But wait! I have more to share with you. On Saturday nights live entertainment is provided by an excellent keyboard player adding to the inviting dinner experience and atmosphere. Great live, unobtrusive, background music is always a plus at dinner. Got a request? Art Mozeik will likely oblige. Even if you'd like to hear a song on an accordion instead of his keyboard. We were staying locally and, despite being warned that it was overpriced, decided to give Stacey's Scratch Kitchen a try. The online menu was varied, creative, and as someone having to avoid gluten, I was excited to see several items I could safely enjoy. Once seated, however, we were handed a paper menu that barely resembled what was advertised online. Gone were the varied appetizers and entrées; instead, a menu largely limited to duck and beef, along with fairly standard appetizers found at many small establishments. After waiting over 20 minutes for a server, we asked about the missing items and were told they "forgot to change the online menu." Disappointing, but fine. Because there were no gluten-friendly appetizers, I asked if the Bang Bang Shrimp could be prepared without breading, or if tortilla chips could be substituted for the crostini served with the crab dip. The waitress appeared annoyed but said she would check. She returned to say they could not or would not make the shrimp without breading and that the only substitute for crostini would be celery and carrots. When I asked why tortilla chips weren't an option, I was simply told, "They said no." I hate having to eat gluten-free, and I hate being "that customer," which is exactly why I review menus before choosing a restaurant. That said, omitting breadcrumbs or substituting tortilla chips for crostini is hardly an unreasonable request--especially when another dish on the menu already included tortilla chips, so availability clearly wasn't the issue. Those of us who avoid gluten don't particularly enjoy being limited to salads every time we dine out, and we often plan meals in advance to avoid problems. We're not trying to make a server's or chef's job harder--we're trying not to get sick. I don't have Celiacs, but I do have cancer related to Gluten intolerance, so no, it's not a choice. I also have no problem paying higher prices for superior service and a creative, well-executed menu. Unfortunately, neither were available. The abrupt, dismissive attitude of the waitress didn't align with what one would expect from a restaurant charging fine-dining prices. We ultimately decided to leave and went to Raindancer instead, where we enjoyed an excellent meal, paid $30 less for the filet mignon and happily left our pleasant waitress a 50% tip. read more

The food is fantastic. Fresh, quality ingredients, prepared with care and thought. The drinks are delicious as well!!! Our server Taylor made great recommendations and checked on us but was never intrusive. I would recommend this gem for anyone who wants good quality food prepared with care. read more

We had been wanting to try Stacy's Scratch Kitchen since we saw so many amazing pics posted on Facebook. So, we made a reservation for this past Saturday to go with another couple, and we were not disappointed. We all started with a unique cocktail. I had the apple Manhattan, and it was delicious. The bartender was generous with the pours, and the flavors balanced perfectly, a true fall treat. We ordered the warm pretzel board to share. Clearly, the pretzel was homemade, salty and rustic, served with quality mustard, interesting fig jam, and beer cheese. I ordered the filet au poivre, while my girlfriend got a lobster roll. Definitely pricey for Broadalbin, a whopping $59 for the steak, I must say it was a perfect medium on a bed of smashed potatoes and flavorful roasted vegetables. The lobster roll had large chunks of sweet meat. My husband ordered the prosciutto-wrapped salmon, and his was delicious as well. We were seated in a corner. The restaurant was a bit dark, but we asked the server to light a candle. The service was solid as well. If you are planning on a Friday or Saturday night, you need to call for a reservation. This is a quality gem close to home if you are looking for upscale in the Amsterdam/B-P area. read more

Stacy's Scratch Kitchen was one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time! We needed to make last minute plans for a family gathering and selected Stacy's based on reviews of restaurants within 20 mi. radius of Broadalbin. It was an fantastic choice! Many thanks to the amazing server and chef who went the extra mile to accommodate one person with extreme food allergies (one small slip could mean a trip to the ER!) Our table ordered the lobster mac and cheese, osso buco, airline chicken, and a tomahawk steak shared by two. All were all delicious and portions were generous. The steak was under cooked when first delivered, but that was quickly remedied with a trip back to the kitchen. The server said the chef wasn't sure if it was cooked satisfactorily, and had asked us to check. My only suggestion would be to use a meat thermometer. We've dined in this building many times over the years under a variety of owners and menus. They were generally pretty good, but this was by far the best experience. Found this on a recent trip with my girlfriend and what an absolute gem! Service was amazing and the food was spectacular! One of the best steaks I have ever eaten in my entire life. If I lived closer, I would eat here weekly as the Stacy changes the menu on a weekly basis so it would always be something new. I give this place a 10/10!! Hats off to the chef and the entire staff, it was an extremely pleasurable dining experience and I expected to pay twice what I actually did. Was truly wonderful. read more

Wow what a disappointing evening. We had Reservations for 6 at 5 o'clock, we got there at 5 and checked in, and stood there for 10minutes waiting for them to set up the table and to be seated, as if it were a surprise that we were there. There weren't many people there yet. We are then seated, and waited about another 5-10 minutes before we were acknowledged and our drink order was taken. It then took 35 minutes to get our drinks! We then get our drinks and they were made completely wrong, and do strong we could barely drink them. We sent them back and waited another 10 minutes to get new drinks. Again they were not busy, and there are maybe 8 other tables filled in the restaurant. We got our new drinks and put in our order. We then waited another hour for our appetizers and food to be served all at the same time. My burger was cooked incorrectly, but I wasn't about to send it back and wait another hour. The past few times here have not been a good experience and I really hope they get back in the swing of things. I always try to leave good reviews for great local businesses, however being that the last 2 times at this establishment were not good, I have to give it a 2. The overall time there was over 3 hours. The good part was the replacement drinks were delicious and the free bread filled us up at least while waiting for our overcooked meat. I felt so bad for the waitress having to be the bearer of bad news for the slow bar and kitchen. read more

Good appetizers, and pretty much anything but steak. Steak is too pricey to not own a meat thermometer. Lobster roll would be better hot.
