Shadow Glen Riding Stables was hands down the best field trip we have been on in years!…read moreAs a 3rd-grade teacher, I cannot say enough good things about Terry and the wranglers. They were welcoming, patient, knowledgeable, and made every student feel included. Our students had an incredible opportunity to learn about ranch and farm life, tractors, horses, foals, farm animals, hay, and the daily responsibilities of caring for a ranch. The hands-on experiences were the highlight of the day. Students were able to groom horses, interact with animals, ask questions, and gain a real appreciation for agriculture and animal care. Terry and his team kept the students engaged from beginning to end. What made this experience even more special was Terry Howard's generosity. Shadow Glen donated approximately three hours of their time at no charge to educate three classes of Center Joint Unified School District students. That level of community support is truly appreciated. Our students are still talking about the trip, and the adults had just as much fun as the kids. It was an outstanding experience from start to finish.

The horses looked like they were well taken care of and you can tell the staff love each and every animal. I highly recommend this place to anyone who's a beginner or an expert. The ride was just long enough and easy but fun. One of our guides, named Donnie, was talking with everyone, cracking jokes and made me feel very comfortable. He was great!! Please check this place out if/when you get a chance.

Marina was the guide and she did a great job. Bomba was the horse I had the pleasure to ride. He was a very fun horse and I just adored him. There were other people on the trail ride who did not have much experience but Marina was great helping them out while also making sure we didn't slow down. I recommend this place to everyone it's truly great.

When we first got on the horse the instructor was already screaming and staring at the kids with such a rude attitude. We started the trail and she was not patient with us at all, with even more screaming and made our experience so stressful. One of the kids was having a hard time and started to cry and instead of helping she kept screaming and telling him to go. There was also another person with us on the trail and I heard the instructor make comments! This was not a good experience and especially for the kids that were so excited. They are not patient at all and really need to work on their attitude and way of speaking to kids! Thank you for responding, I already knew this was a trail ride and the kids had more than 5 rides already. There is still no need to be shouting and being extra mean since the beginning even before the ride, it does not make it enjoyable and It does not qualify someone for this job. I will not recommend this place to anyone.

The teachers here are amazing! My middle schooler even had a teacher from his old public school, which was super helpful since he planed to go back to public high school later. This kept him on track (and even ahead) with what he needed to know. Something that I love is that the kids are outside ALL THE TIME! They have class outside, eat lunch outside, and do pretty much everything outside unless the weather is really bad. In summer, they sit under shady trees with nice breezes. In winter, they bundle up with jackets and blankets near space heaters. It reminds me of how European kids spend way more time outdoors instead of being stuck inside all day. My kids have learned tons and made great friends here. If you've read the book "Wild and Free," this school follows that idea perfectly. Kids learn, play, and grow at their own speed. Even if your kids go to regular school, Wild Roots has awesome summer camps that cost less than a babysitter! The kids learn cool stuff while having fun outside. I tell everyone looking for homeschool help around Folsom to check out Wild Roots. It's been such a great place for my family!

This place really is surprisingly effective at building kids' confidence and physical endurance…read more It's intense exercise but the kids LOVE it and are obviously having a blast. Of every class or sport my kid has ever done, this has been his absolute favorite (It's been one of my favorite activities he's done, as well!). The coaches are super positive and keep it high energy. It's only 45 minute classes (I wish they were an hour) but they don't waste any of the time. Even during their water breaks they have an activity or video on the screen that teaches confidence building skills. The coaches are very friendly and encouraging to parents , as well. My only complaint is that there often isn't enough instruction on proper form. Kids are frequently using bad form. There are only 2 instructors for the class so they can't help every kid for every activity, but there needs to be more live assistance on proper form. (I will say that I provided this feedback via a survey and the following week the coaches made a noticeable effort to help my kid with form, so they are very receptive to feedback, which is very rare these days). Every single coach there acts like they love their job. I'd think they'd have to have a passion for working with kids in order to do this job, but nonetheless, I love their business model attitude. (I was actually very hesitant to sign up as I had seen them at various festivals, and it seemed like a money grab. But after attending a single trial class, my kid was hooked, and it was evident that their entire business model revolves around building confidence in kids). I can't recommend them enough!

Throughly recommend on giving it a try.

The faculty is incredibly knowledgeable and really care about the student's success. On top of typical curriculum, they teach them life skills, like how to stay within a budget at the grocery store. They also teach them music, art, and go on field trips monthly. Additionally, they do not give homework but encourage family reading time. And more importantly, during parent-teacher conferences they not only discuss areas of improvement but also what they plan to do to help your child succeed. I can't say enough about the school. I definitely recommend coming by to do a tour and see all of the amazing things they have to offer.

My son has been attending Almondale Academy for a little over a year. One of the first things we…read morenoticed about the campus is how spacious and serene it is. It has so much outdoor space for the kids to play and explore, and the fact that there are visiting peacocks and chickens wandering around just adds to the charm. My son loves bringing home little nature "souvenirs" like feathers and cool rocks and sticks he finds at school, and they've become prized possessions in his room. The atmosphere is really calm and peaceful, which makes it a wonderful learning environment. The small class sizes are another huge plus and allow the teachers to give each student the attention they need. The staff here genuinely care about the kids, both academically and emotionally. I've been amazed at how the teachers, staff and even the other students have really helped my son come out of his shell. Despite being previously enrolled in preschool, he was quite shy and introverted when he first started kindergarten. He's now really flourishing and every day I can see the positive impact everybody at Almondale is having on him. I can't say enough good things about the staff and teachers. They're kind, attentive, and genuinely care about each student. My son isn't just another kid in a classroom; the staff and teachers truly take the time to understand his strengths and challenges and work with him every day to help him thrive, which is something I really value. Almondale Academy has been a perfect fit for our son, and I'm so glad we made the choice to enroll him here. If you're looking for a nurturing, supportive, and academically solid school, I highly recommend checking it out.
