I cannot put into words how great these guys are. They are the most honest automotive shop I have ever dealt with. They do not overcharge for parts or labor, and they are very knowledgeable and informed. If you bring your car here what they tell you is wrong is exactly what it is no need to get a second opinion. My car has been there multiple times and every single time the service was complete the problem was fixed and it was affordable. This last trip to Stager's was my second visit for body work and am glad to share here that they are consistently great. Joan is friendly, knowledgeable and on it. He gave me advice about my car, and being that I was so pleased, I tried to tip him. I had body work done on my Infinity at Stagers and not only did the job look like my car was never in an accident. Then the way my car was painted looked perfect. The best part was the detail job. WOW!!! My car on the inside looked and smelled brand new. Now the outside was so shiny it had a wet worked or mirror like finish. My car shined for a month. I was referred to Stager's by my mechanic, Jerry's Shell station in Lincoln Park. My front bumper was damaged in a parking lot and though the damage was small, the entire bumper needed to be repainted. I dropped my car off after work on a Friday, and I picked it up Saturday afternoon. It was perfect! Highly recommended. No idea how I got so lucky but found/chose this place off google reviews yesterday AM after getting off to a rough start and severely denying my front bumper. Luckily I didn't break the fog or head lights but I really thought the bumper would have to be replaced. Receptionist was really prompt and told me to come in after I sent photos so I stopped by after work. Owner's son gave me a quick and extremely reasonable quote for a replacement bumper with an aftermarket part but I really didn't want to drop the cash regardless and my car is a lease so I was worried. He said my other option would be to just push it back out and clean it up but that he didn't know how good it would look. He gave it a shot "just to see" and honestly it didn't look half bad--didn't seem any worse than putting an aftermarket part on it. He told me to buy touch up paint for the spots that couldn't be buffed out, and wouldn't even charge me!!! Needless to say they MADE my day/month, saved me a LOT of money, and give very honest estimates. I also learned they do full mechanical which is great to know, and I'll definitely be back should I ever need to but hopefully that won't be anytime soon! read more

I can't say enough good things about Stager's. They are friendly, responsible, they work quickly, and they are HONEST. I've had my car worked on there twice before and I've had nothing but good experiences with them. This third time around is the same thing. I just got off the phone with the mechanic that looked at my car. He took the time to explain what's going wrong with my car, what needs to be done to fix it, and a very honest price which is so much lower than what I anticipated paying for. He was friendly and took his time, unlike poor mechanic experiences I've had in the past where I felt like I couldn't be bothered with or they were in a rush to tell me what I needed to hear and get off the phone. This place seems to be family owned and understands the value of their clients and putting good work forth in order to continue their good reputation. Stagers did a really nice job on my truck. Besides a possible miscommunication of the time of completion (which might have been my fault), I think they did a really good job. When Chris told me that they cleaned the car inside & out, I was surprised! I didn't notice it at first as my attention was primarily at the part of the truck that needed work. Then I noticed it. The repair job and the cleaning was done really good! I was surprised that they went beyond the normal. I told Chris that he didn't have to clean the truck. He said that this was part of their service. NICE!! I have used Stagers years ago and they did a good job on that truck too. I will recommend Stagers to anyone who needs work done. I know this place has been getting 5 stars across the board and the exact reason I chose this place to begin with but I thought I would just share my personal experience which wasn't good. For starters several reviews stated how fast the work was completed and that was one of the main reasons I chose this place since I had to rent a car while mine was being repaired. Well fast work wasn't the case for me and the work took an extra week (5 days) longer then what I was promised. That wound up becoming very costly for the rent a car. My next gripe was the estimate. The estimate was about $400 higher then what I was originally told. That may not seem like a lot but when you're paying out of pocket it's a lot more to fork over. I understand what an estimate is but $400 over is a significant difference. If the repairs they were doing became severely more costly as work was being completed I think I should have at least been informed. read more
